The year is now 2022, my terrain is 7 yrs old. I purchased my 2015 new and have nothing but problems ever since. The only good thing to come out of this experience is the 100,000 mile warranty. Thank God Hyundai challenge GM to the warranty. After 60,000 the exhaust manifold cracked, learning it's a cheap part GM decided to use instead. At 80,000 the transmission had to be rebuild. At 100,000 the engine had to be rebuild. The truck has burned oil like it's has an unlimited tap at the bar. Since the build up of carbon with the other issues, at 140,000 I'm replacing the whole exhaust system including the Catalytic Converter, oxygen sensors. to clear a code po411. My truck won't pass inspection in two states, can you guess which ones? One thing you missed about the backup camera that is more important that worrying about pushing buttons, is the lack of guidance. Most backup cameras have guided lines to show you where you are exactly in motion. Why would you be worried about pushing radio buttons while you're in reverse? I also prefer the lumbar button and think its weird you would prefer otherwise. You really didn't cover anything. Why not mention having to remove your tire to replace the headlight? How about mentioning the windshield wiper harness breaks because it was designed stupid? Someone mentioned changing the oil, better get the special tool to remove the cap of the oil filter. Checking your transmission is a bit weird as well, no dipstick, got to get under the truck. So much more to add but I won't waster you time. So there you have it, an updated experience with owning a GMC Terrain.
I do my own oil changes, and a Terrain is by far one of the easiest vehicles to do an oil change on. You just need a decent filter and one 5 quart jug of oil.
The only complaint that I have on my 2015 GMC terrain is the dash lights are in red red is hard to see and I wish they were in blue because you could better see at night time when you want to change something or do anything
Love my 2017 Terrain Denali. Ive had 5 new GM vehicles in 30 years and this vehicle has been 100% trouble free. Never been back to the dealer for anything. Great gas mileage, fun to drive and perfect size. We feel very safe and comfy in this vehicle!
I bought a grey 2014 Terrain SLT in Mar. 2020 but unfortunately totalled it in July when a freakin' telephone pole jumped out at me, all airbags deployed & I was only left with a bump on the head & bruise on my hand. I decided to purchase a graphite grey 2017 Terrain SLT w/ Nightfall package, only 12K mi. I upgraded to 3.6L V6 engine, which I prefer to the I4 because of all the hills where I live. They actually did remove the cd player & insert a little shelf (I use for sunglasses) for the Generation 1 revamp, however my '14 had a sunroof & my '17 doesn't. One thing that I don't like about the V6 is positioning of the oil filter, it's a tight fit and also side-mounted in the front between the fan & manifold... like on the Traverse/ Acadia. Still, I love my TERRAIN
I have a 2014 Terrain Denali and you would really love the Denali package. Red baseball sticking against the black interior. Fully loaded. Get a Denali next time. I ♥ the video, because i would have never realized these things were upgraded. Also you should upgrade your floor mats and get a cargo liner from weathertech it would eliminate your gap issue in cargo storage.
Thanks for the video. Looking at a 2015 for a friend and this video points out everyday things you maybe wouldnt see on a test drive or other review videos
I have a 2014 SLE-2 AWD with the big 301 hp V6. It’s been an anvil. Now over 86000 on the clock. If you’re looking at this generation Terrain from 2011 to 2017: 1. Skip the four banger. We have owned two and after 80,000 the repairs start. The big six doesn’t suck that much more gas if you drive it sensibly and the extra 120 hp is nice for when you have to get around that road hog in front of you. 2. Don’t buy an SLE-1 trim level. Get at least the SLE-2 or SLT. Skip the Denali thats just flushing money. 3. Like all GM V6, keep up with the filters and the oil changes and use the recommended oil grade. Don’t skimp on normal maintenance. 4. Don’t expect this to be a BMW for a Chevy price. It’s a good basic daily driver. 5. Get the up level heated seats and AV system, your body will thank you. I think they dropped the CD player after 2016. Which is sad. I use mine and it works fine. Cheers.
Can you tell me why you don't like the sle-1 I'm going today at 5 to look at a 2015 SLE 1 AWD with about 78,000 on the clock it's in beautiful condition..... Meet all our needs plus the extra tech features are nice
I have a 2015 Chromed Out SLT Terrain which is the middle of the 3 and the only thing I don't like about it is when I'm connected via Bluetooth which is all the time because when I use the auxiliary cable the sound sucks but when I get a call or make one my AC/Heater automatically lowers unless I manually move it back up or down!! That really pisses me off other than that I love it!!!
6:55 LOL. The seats in my 2015 Buick Encore has the same odd controls, the powered height adjustment, powered lumbar adjustment, and manual seat back adjustment. In addition, the driver seat has 2 memory seating buttons, which I think is weird/interesting enough to have when you have partial-electronic seating controls.
8:25 Also my dash cam has a plug that has a extra USB Port on it. So when I bring my charger in my Buick, I plug it into the USB Port on my dash cam chord and use Bluetooth from my phone to play music and sometimes to make/receive calls.
I have a 2012 Terrain and it has been a good vehicle. My number one complaint is the gas fill door in on the passenger side. I cuss the GM engineers every time I fill up. It seems I more often than not have to back in to fill up because most other cars have the fill door on the driver side. Can't manufacturers get together to put all fill doors on the driver side?
Let me count how many times he said "ANNOYING" word...lol ...i love mine...and i live in Maine..you know we have tons of snow during winter ..my terrain is awesome! never let me down on icy road ..and mine has all the power button on the seat..and factory remote starter :)
Mileage is determined by how you drive. My heavy foot wife get 20-21 in the city with the 2.4l engine. However, my light foot driving yields 23-25 in the city.
GMC must have watched your video because my 2017 Terrain does not have a CD player and it does have a little slot/ nook to set things on like you suggested. And the kicker is I’m one of the ones who wanted a CD player in mine. Lol
No. I have the terrain Denali and in 8 months have had to get the throttle body cleaned, intake manifold fixed, and eventually brand new engine put in. Now 3 months after new engine I am having transmission issues. These vehicles are the worst!!
I have a 2016 terrain....drove it out into the great wide open of the great American West!! It has a governor on it and tops out at 114 I believe. Why and how ??
I love my car, but I’ve just put in my first CD November 2017 and I can’t figure out how to eject it. It’s Joy Behar the great gas bag. So far hilarious. I need it. I’m only on my first CD please help. And by the way thanks for the video. I’ve learned a thing or two
The eject button is near the hazard light button just to the right, weird place I know, strange like the door lock switch mounted with the radio functions, Must have some good drugs when they design this crap
Sorry, I change my Terrain's oil every 3k miles/3 months. Interesting is that my Outback has 5 more cubic feet of cargo space. Maybe you do not know. Ice scrapers and small items can be stored under the floor of the cargo area. I took delivery of my Terrain on April 30, 2012. It presently has about 25k miles on it. Yes not a huge amount of miles. However I must disagree with your complaints. I think you may not truly understand how all the technology works.
I have a 2011 I just bought it’s slt 1 and it has everything no gap in back nothing!!! I’m miss my Ford Edge tho lol it felt higher off ground then terrain feel like I’m driving a car verses suv to me. But it is way better on gas then my edge but it’s also a 2.4 verses my v6 edge was. My eco mode idles rough so I don’t ever use that unless on highway.
I have a 2011 GMC Terrain SLE and I actually love it. I have been blessed to get some good wear out of it. I am at 90k now. If I didnt have a growing family i would definitely get another.
Trucker Josh VLOGS I would agree with you a week ago but this morning I was in reverse and heard a song I hate and wanted to change the station and I couldn’t
I don't mind having one but I wish when they got rid of the CD player, they did something different with the space it came from. That little shelf is not cool at all.
phone charger with a USB port in that outlet would have alleviated the cords running from the console. Hopefully by now you have traded this car because there are SO MANY things that bother you , lol
That's cool where you back up cam is on my dads 2010 its on the Mirror on the left side I do drive it from time to time but I told him i didn't want to drive it cause I'd fall in love with it and I'm more of a pickup guy than a cross over lol
I have terrain 2015 when I drive in the morning screen gets to dark and I can’t figure out how I can fix I even can’t see nothing on screen! I need help for that
My only problem I have with my Terrain is that I can't just leave the Gas nozzle in if I'm filling up. I don't know if it's just my 2015 Terrain but I can't leave it in. I thought that was weird.
The first time I filled up my 2011 Terrain, it popped out and sprayed gas :-( I just had to retrain to lock it in well, tug on the nozzle, then begin to fuel. Unsafe.
funniest comment so far.. i’m a 16 year old girl and you will NEVER catch me complaining about my terrain, he needs to figure out how to drive his car… smh
I have a 2014 sle2 with the 4 cylinder. I kinda wish I would have got the v6 but my average my is about 28 which is pretty good. I feel like the Ac isn't very adjustable though and there are no vents in the back😐. I might trade it for a Jeep Grand Cherokee in a couple years. I enjoy your videos man!
Sir, Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF), you don't have here a legit problem with your GMC Terrain. Your terrain is perfectly fine despite of failing to vacuum your own vehicle. You really turned me off when complaining about the CD player and shifting in REVERSE. You should focus on safety when going in reverse. It's not the time to scan for radio station. Please take care of that little OCD by TAKING your medication. Seriously yours,
Well bro, I gotta say, you're complaining about features you don't have. Power liftgate, seat adjustments, wheel intrusions = sound upgrade for other models, ice scraper should be behind front seat. Sounds like user error along with SLE problems. Also don't keep it on ECO mode unless you're driving on a highway for awhile. Still appreciate your video, kisses. The actual problem is the direction of the AC vents. Edit: WTF you are so mad at this car, No phone holder (my phone stays in the tray bc it's huge), also if Cruise is on, you will have the lighted notification. And no you should not be messing with radio presets while backing up. Love ya but get outta here.
Some of the issues that you are having or the things that annoy you about your GMC is due to the fact that you have the cheapest model you don't have remote start you don't have the power liftgate and some of the features that would be evident in a more of a upgraded model of the GMC truck. I have a 12' terrain and have it upgraded. Remote start, power lift hatch back and power limbar and adjusting seats
I thought that was the point of the manual, GMC is so annoying please someone help my light is aiming down on the ground and I do a lot if night driving
Well. I can say that almost all of you're complaints are fixed on the new one. Also their is a cargo are close out panel that you can buy from the dealer I believe it is $150 but at that price I would just deal with it. I Have a 16 loaded LTZ V6 AWD Equinox traded in my 14 2LT Equinox AWD 4 Cylinder.
+Jacob Lechtenberg I'd like to think that GM watched my video and decided to fix the things that I complained about. That must be the answer. It must be!
Peter von Panda wouldn't we all like to think that? I wish GM would've updated the infotainment to have Apple CarPlay but the system does its job and I like my new 16 better than the 14 as a design standpoint. Bought a V6 AWD LTZ Equinox.
I don't know man, but based on the issues you had so far (especially the screen unit freezing and the poor MPG you're getting) I can't see how anyone would be content with this vehicle. Should have gone with the 500X Peter :)
Mileage sucked on my 2011 SLT v6 17 mpg. The mileage on this 2014 SLE inline 4, 2.4 liter, is also very low. False advertising maybe. Maybe they were including the E85 numbers. Also no rear air vents :-(
Interesting that you found all that stuff. Also interesting that you made a video of your filthy car. You should have at least cleaned it before filming.
I’ve got a 2016 sle “plain Jane “ model it’s tough it does what I need it to do but compared to the newer models or the slt it’s a bitch but hey you by what you can afford
my steering wheel is starting to peel/ disintegrate and some of the plastic pieces have started to peel also...on my 3013 equinox back speaker quit last year too
Sounds like you didn’t do your research and now want to complain about it. The things you complain about are quite pathetic to be honest like the gas lid lol did you not notice the storage on either side in the back when you bought it? You could have gotten one with the power lift gate. Next time I would suggest taking the blindfold off while you’re looking and buying a car 😂😂😂
We have a 2017 Terrain Denali 3.6 and I can tell you that having the base model is definitely going to bring some complaints. You can actually buy a plastic cover to override that 4-5 inches of open space in the trunk behind the seats. I hate to say this but I have to - you complain about things that are absolutely ridiculous. Like the seat thing? Come on now, you bought the base model, you should've expected it.
Its a car why not four cylinder, its not a truck, My 2.4 will spin the tires off the line and I never have trouble on the highway, you must have tried one with a leggie transmission or something
I love my terrain. I am on my second. Here's the coolest phone mount I have tried. You just have to adjust it to not get bumped when you shift. Also with the cruise control button, I have also turn off my cruise turning and that's annoying. I have also hit the cruise control resume button by mistake turning and vroooom 65 mph around a curve! Yikes. The space behind you seat actually comes with a sliding plastic piece that appears to be missing. Also you floor mats were gone. Maybe a salesman jacked them and put them on ebay. My backup camera no longer has the option for the camera lines. I love the lines because they let me know the dimensions of the vehicle, which way the steering was pointed and how much truck door room I needed. Maybe I need to get a software update. The cd slot is also for DVD in some models and for software updates for the system and GPS. I hope I never have the headunit lockup. Hope you continue to enjoy. www.target.com/p/macally-adjustable-automobile-cup-holder-for-mobile-devices/-/A-50557576?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=&adgroup=&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9027222&gclid=CO7J2J7mgtACFQSnaQodrqUMyA&gclsrc=aw.ds
lol your annoyed by so many things that its all things you should of checked before buying the jeep, if you dont like the cheap features should have went with something more upgraded !
These cars suck. Can't get the rear seat down enough to car camp in. Dash lights are off and on all the time. 4 cylinders are always in passing gear going up the smallest hills. Big bulky sides in the rear. Junk. Poorly design.
I just bought a SLT Terrain and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
The year is now 2022, my terrain is 7 yrs old. I purchased my 2015 new and have nothing but problems ever since. The only good thing to come out of this experience is the 100,000 mile warranty. I like the top level trim version
Thanks...I just bought a 2014 and Im enjoying it so far...hope to continue enjoying!
The only complaint that I have on my 2015 GMC terrain is the dash lights are in red red is hard to see and I wish they were in blue because you could better see at night time when you want to change something or do anything
What a CD? The thing with the reverse camera is so you focus on driving not the radio!
Did you find a good place to store your tampons??
lmfao for real
Bryan Olivo lol as a female.....the terrain does have a little compartment lmao jk hahaha
Yep. Should stick with driving a Prius. The complaints are ridiculous.
Love my 2017 Terrain Denali. Ive had 5 new GM vehicles in 30 years and this vehicle has been 100% trouble free. Never been back to the dealer for anything. Great gas mileage, fun to drive and perfect size. We feel very safe and comfy in this vehicle!
It does come with a flap for the gap in the trunk but you just hav to select it as an option
I did a dislike on this video as your video is more of a whining about stuff on this vehicle than a legit normal every day problems with the car.
I have a 2012 slt awd with the 2.4 and I get awesome mileage with highway driving. Even city isn't too bad
Thanks for the video.
Looking at a 2015 for a friend and this video points out everyday things you maybe wouldnt see on a test drive or other review videos
Sounds like you are complaining because you have a base model.
I have a 2014 SLE-2 AWD with the big 301 hp V6. It’s been an anvil. Now over 86000 on the clock. If you’re looking at this generation Terrain from 2011 to 2017: 1. Skip the four banger. Its either a CUV or a Crossover utility Vehicle, not a Crossover CUV... it's like calling an ATM an automatic ATM.
No rear seat vents is a glaring error.
Mark R my parents bought this exact car, gmc terrain 2015, first thing i noticed!!! no ac vents for the back talk about dumb!
There is an SL trim below the SLE.
Not Really, i am a SLT Terrain owner, and the base model is the SLE.
Yes there is😊 alot of ppl think the sle is the base but the SL is
SL - Starting MSRP $24k then SLE and SLT and of course denali
@@OrionDelgado there’s an sle-1 and sle-2 the sle-1 doesn’t have the nicer materials on the dash no heated seats and no pioneer speakers

where is the head lamp adjustment screw, the manual does not show it, it just says find the screw ???
I have a 2014 and l love it. I like to say, we all don't see the same. Peace.

I thought that was the point of the manual, GMC is so annoying please someone help my light is aiming down on the ground and I do a lot if night driving
your missing the cargo cover - go to the dealership there is supposed to be a flap at the back seats
Cher Hickey that's extra
Oh brilliant. Would that fix the gap where the ice scraper falls?
+SNESmapper I agree.
So you listed a huge list of absolute NON ISSUES to whine about??
Mileage sucked on my 2011 SLT v6 17 mpg. The mileage on this 2014 SLE inline 4, 2.4 liter, is also very low. False advertising maybe.
Maybe they were including the E85 numbers. Also no rear air vents :-(
2014 Denali V6 AWD, 16/17 city and 25 highway. Very satisfied and love to surprise the rice heads at the stoplights.
Heavy back gate wow I got this kind and it's ok your just weak imo
my steering wheel is starting to peel/ disintegrate and some of the plastic pieces have started to peel also...on my 3013 equinox back speaker quit last year too
Nooo I choose to listen to CDs.my music ,my mood.no adds
I have a 2015 GMC Terrain and one thing coming minivans to the terrain is lack of storage. Especially, as you said in the back.🤷🏻♀️
Wait until your drive belt tensioner breaks while you're on the expressway and you're coasting with a 0% chance of acceleration...
Is that the serpentine belt tensioner?
They fail ?? They fail sooner than the belt itself fails??
Thank you I like the video!!
Drywall...
The leaking roof....
Does the 4 cylinder have enough power ? The terrain looks like a heavy vehicle.
+Rusty 123 I actually think so. It's never left me wanting.
Personally, after owning both the 4 cylinder and the V6, I could never go back to a four cylinder.
huge difference, it drives nice. but acceleration sucks!!!
Just bought one. Got the V6 and glad I did. Its a heavy vehicle and its flat out stupid to get something like this with a 4 cyl.

I need you help, I can't use the RUclips in the terrain, can you help me? I am in dallas
There is a flap for the gap. Yours is missing.
My God, are you serious. 1:45 sec wasted on me watching this video.
My 2011 GMC Terrain drink more oil than gas and there's no oil leak....smh
Ther is a recall for that
i dont like GM..they have been bad for us...but you enjoy it so..:)
lol your annoyed by so many things that its all things you should of checked before buying the jeep, if you dont like the cheap features should have went with something more upgraded !
I swear I heard the waaambulance in the background.🚑
You made a video of your terrain but your vehicle is DIRTY as hell !!!!!!
Can't say I'm surprised, american cars usually have a fair share of problems.
My paint job is awful
Hate the motor in this car!!!!!
Your going to get problems about 25K in...thats what happend to our...both cars
Sorry to hear that but we have had 4 Terrains, both the 2.4L and the 3.6L and have had zero problems... What kind of problems did you experience?
These cars suck. Can't get the rear seat down enough to car camp in. Dash lights are off and on all the time. 4 cylinders are always in passing gear going up the smallest hills. Big bulky sides in the rear. Junk. Poorly design.
hey
+Boaz Beach hey
Ridiculous complaints..
Seats suck in the GMC Terrain
Must be a Democrat
Libertarian
@@petervonpanda AHHHH. Can't make up your mind what you stand for. Makes perfect sense now.
