Scotty - Many years ago, I was second in line at one of those automatic car washes. The guy ahead of me pulled his Ford Ranger in and the wash cycle began. The guy put the Ranger in drive in flew out of the car wash like a rocket.... then he jumped out of his truck and ran over waving and yelling at me "DON'T GO IN THERE!!!!!" A guy who works on the Ford trucks with Eco Boost engines said that the biggest problem they have is when the owner drives it too gently all the time, the turbo waste gate can get stuck. Some one in my city is selling a Mini convertible. $2500. Body mint, manual trans. I am sure it's a different story under the hood. Another BMW coupe, early 2000's, body mint. Been sitting on the front lawn for about three years already. Wonder why?
My PT cruiser lasted 243k miles lol Burnt oil like hell and transmission was starting to show early signs of issues. Car would run hot if sat in traffic for extended time. It was a 2007. Was still driving when I sold it to my uncle lol Guess I got lucky.
I’ve been looking to buy a new car but my 2000 Explorer just refuses to crap out on me. It’s driven me across the country and back with only minor maintenance. 21 years old and it runs like the day it rolled off the lot. 500,000 miles, and it’s only just beginning to show it’s age.
Never seen fuel injection issues with the acadias. Timing chains(2.4/3.6) , high pressure power steering lines, cats clogging and leaky timing covers ( 3.6 only ) are most common real issues I see with them after 100k sometimes the upper control arms in the rear go.

We have a 2017 Holden captiva. Scotty, the 2006 Wrangler Unlimiteds were never equipped with a 4 cyl. They only had the venerable 4.0L in-line 6. The regular Wranglers did have the 4 banger as the base engine.
I work in a lube shop and for real people come back saying its overfilled and when questioned because the level looks good to us we find out they checked it on a hill, I live in a hilly area happens all the time.
I had a 2004 PT Cruiser Limited top trim. Drove it 2 years. No problems. However, slow, terrible mpg, extremely un comfortable for more than getting groceries, and handling was poor! Lol
The only thing holding me back from getting a Bronco is the engine choices. I wish they would put a regular 6 cylinder engine in them. Looks like Mazda will be releasing a straight 6 engine soon. I will be all over that if Ford would put something similar in the Bronco.
Surprised the 2006 Buick Lucerne is on the list. I was under the impression the 3.8 engine was fantastic. I've seen people rate it as one of the best GM ever made.
I'm driving a 2004 ford explorer, it's 17 years old, runs very good, but it's time to trade it, it's getting rusty, it has 136.000+ Miles, the air still works.,I m looking forward to buy another suv. What do you recommends?

My neighbor bought a brand new bronco this summer. I've seen the tow truck over there 2x already lol
was it the full sized Bronco or the Bronco sport?
Not too smart.
We have an abundant supply of morons in this country.
A guy who works on the Ford trucks with Eco Boost engines said that the biggest problem they have is when the owner drives it too gently all the time, the turbo waste gate can get stuck. I drive my 3.5 Eco Boost F150 gently for the most part but I definitely get it up on the turbo every time I drive it.
Yea ,I have a V8 HEMI in my pickup. I don't have to worry about that crap.
I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder it has 400 thousand miles only problem I've had with it is a water pump bought it brand new
2000 was a good year for those cars.
Definitely got your money’s worth
1999 Toyota 4Runner here. 360k miles with original power train. It will rust out before the drive train gives out.
@@naps3386 both were great trucks from great companies..
That drop warning is not an issue: that is in case you drop it to the floor but mounted in a vehicle that will not be a problem....unless you drive off a cliff then you have other problems.
R.I.P Reliable cars before the mid 2000s car after 2005 are junk
Except Japanese cars

Very True 👍
I always loved your honesty Scotty
Mentioning the new Ford Broncos, I had an uber eats the Friday before last to the Ford dealership in my area. A couple of sales guys were hanging out front. I asked if they had those new Ford Broncos. They just had one that was a four door with the canopy convertible top. 55k and change. They one sales guy said the Broncos had a two year waiting list for them.
The PT Loser - rented one once- AWFUL - poor visibility too
I drove a Rent-A-Wreck PT once...I liked being up a little higher than a regular passenger car, but the interior was screaming CHEAP!!
I have you figured out, Scotty. Huff two bong hits, turn on camera, then rant on cars. Fun!
Best car I had for least repairs was a 1979 Datsun B-210 hatchback. 300000 miles at trade in still had the factory battery got 40 miles to the gallon, bought it new.
What offer would make someone sell a gem like this for? 🤔
Hey Scotty ❤️ love watching your videos 🙏🏽 I lean something new every time 😀 thank you 😊
hello and thank you!
And today's lesson was, how to spell "Learn", correctly 🤣🙏🙋🏻♂️
@@reiki-guy3894 Don't hate on Scott getting attention from women. 😆
@@reiki-guy3894 she's still 🔥
@@reiki-guy3894 She was thinking about leaning to check something on her car. Sometimes if you're thinking of one thing, and doing another, you wind up putting the wrong fuse box in a sentence.
You never want to be on any list next to a PT Cruiser
I rented a GMC Arcadia from hertz few weeks ago, and the check engine light came on two days after the road trip from Philly to Rochester. Not even my old bmw would get a cel that fast.
I have a 15 yr old son that ask me... "who looks at a PT Cruiser and say,, that's a nice car,, what do these people look like?", 🤣
I worked for ncr for 10 years and my company car was a pt cruiser. i put 180k miles and 3 transmissions and 1 engine . i bought it when I got a new company car a chevy van .
You should compile and include a running list of garbage vehicles....
I hate to be that guy, but the Late TJ wrangler did NOT come with the 2.5. It came with the 2.4L DOHC Sebring/Stratus engine with some changes. I would absolutely feel good about buying ANY TJ, EVER, as long as the frame wasn't rusty.
Almost bought a newer Bronco. I wasn't sure about the 3 cylinder motor. Bought a 4 cylinder Jeep Wrangler instead. Hope I made the right decision.
I wondered that about the ford ecoboost being used as cop cars a lot…all that sitting there idling running radar and stop and go city traffic. I’d still like to hear from the mechanics that service the police vehicles since they switched from the crown Vic to the chargers. Bet they stay a lot busier now that they’re mostly running dodges
One day you should make a video on.... Safest vehicles & Do a little review on what vehicles can actually save you and which vehicles are a total death trap in a scenario situation!!!
Some one in my city is selling a Mini convertible. $2500. Body mint, manual trans. I am sure it's a different story under the hood. Another BMW coupe, early 2000's, body mint. Been sitting on the front lawn for about three years already. Wonder why?
My PT cruiser lasted 243k miles lol
Burnt oil like hell and transmission was starting to show early signs of issues. Car would run hot if sat in traffic for extended time. It was a 2007. Was still driving when I sold it to my uncle lol
Guess I got lucky.
You should have taken it to a junkyard.
I have a 2002 chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 vortec I have over 293k miles. Still runs smooth and pulls my 30ft camper really good.
I’ve been looking to buy a new car but my 2000 Explorer just refuses to crap out on me. It’s driven me across the country and back with only minor maintenance. 21 years old and it runs like the day it rolled off the lot. 500,000 miles, and it’s only just beginning to show it’s age.
Idioacracy is fully established in the design departments of US and European motor cars.
It’s fully established in the owners too.
Or planned obsolence
Evening, Scotty!! You should write a book! It would be a Best Seller! 🤎
He has
Nah we get multiple vids every day no need for a book
Never seen fuel injection issues with the acadias. Timing chains(2.4/3.6) , high pressure power steering lines, cats clogging and leaky timing covers ( 3.6 only ) are most common real issues I see with them after 100k sometimes the upper control arms in the rear go.
My grandpas 2015 gmc Acadia has been an amazing car great soundsystem nice ride and solid build quality no issues with it at all
I’m looking @ a 2011 Acadia for $2,000 I’m pretty excited about new Starter was just put in
I test drove a used Lucerne with low miles. It had rattles and ran like crap and was only a few years old.
A co worker thought he had an awesome car when he bought one. Car dealer made about 4500 dollars selling it new. My old bmw is still running great at 1/4 the price used
Keep fit and Stay Healthy
This is a great video Scotty.
eh most of these bronco sports wont even go on dirt roads. the most offroading they will see is speedbumps or the soccer field
They drive them ON the soccer field?
@@gregorsamsa1364 no lol
I generally avoid any cars that are older than a 2007. I know this probably isn't wise and that plenty old cars are well maintained and worth my time but I've personally never owned or seen a car that is almost 20 years old that didn't start breaking down, smelling like burning oil or having leaks and breaking down. I only shop 2010 and younger.
Thank God im not stupid.. I have masters from Kilmer University🤣😂
I'll stay with my 1989 Nissan pu. v6 5sp.....almost 400,000 miles. still goin strong. same engine, tranny..
Good trucks...sr5 toyotas are still better..
@@saveriopersichilli1129 sr5 has that reputation because they were sold in larger numbers and had a longer production run. But almost every Nissan pu on the road today has over 200k miles and those are "saved" models as John citizen said his and others have well over that amount.
Oh.. Im talking only about 4 cylinders engines here sorry. The one with 2kE code.. I guess
Evening Scotty! 🏁
evening!
I'm honestly shocked the Nissan Rogue isn't on this list.
😁😁😁
There not all bad years yes its a Nissan nit a Toyota but look up reviews some decent years over the lifespan.
Yesterday in traffic, a PT CRUISER passed me & Scottys voice started reverbarating in my head, as to how crappy they are! 😲
I agree with you with all the modern gm products but you have to admit that the old gm square body trucks are the best trucks ever made
I used to have the Saab 97-X which was basically an Acadia with Saab logos on it. Absolute POS. Great video!
We have a 2017 Holden captiva. Only problem I had was an engine code for throttle body plate stuck open, its a 2.2 turbo diesel so throttle plate stuck open is weird and not really a problem, took it apart, cleaned it. no more code. Although I think it was a false reading, plate wasn't even dirty, cleaned it anyway, put it back together, no more code, could have been a lose wire.. One thing though, THESE CAPTIVAS ARE HELL TO WORK ON, my neighbours probably don't like me because all the yelling and swearing :)
Scotty is talking about the bad in Broncos, in the middle of the rant, my commercial was for the new Broncos! 🤣
scotty i do learn a lot from your videos
thank you very much enjoy tennessee
General Motors fix the head gasket problem in the North Stars in 2004, I’ve seen them hit 200k miles.
Looking to but one soon 2006 lucerne
my 03 MDX is the best car I've ever had no motor or transmission problems it has 246k miles still runs well
My mom had an Acadia like that. It didn’t have drivetrain problems. It had a water pump that went bad on it
Same we still have it :(
The most popular car brand in my area in my informal survey is Mazda. There's a strong dealer in the area and immediately north. Plus they last. You still see Mazda 2's!
Here in Mexicali, México (in summer up to 125 F) I already saw 4 pt cruisers burning on the streets in the last 5 years
Maybe because an audio system wrong wiring!! 🤔
"Keep it as a bird bath." 🤣🤣🤣
the best car wash is from 17 girl scouts in a church parking lot.
so much duplication of effort, it gets washed 4 times.
I had a mechanic refill oil without draining the old and resulted in a lot of engine vibration in the 78 Camaro. Took a while to realize what had happened. TG the V8 engine survived.
Scotty, the 2006 Wrangler Unlimiteds were never equipped with a 4 cyl. They only had the venerable 4.0L in-line 6. The regular Wranglers did have the 4 banger as the base engine.
The 6 cylinders pentastar will run forever. Had 3 Jeep Wranglers good vehicles. Pulled a lot of Toyotas out of ditches and mud. I went thru easily.
Guaranteed the “lego bus” will last longer than crap Volkswagens electric bus in 2023!!!!
Spot on as usual scotty 🔧🪛

I work in a lube shop and for real people come back saying its overfilled and when questioned because the level looks good to us we find out they checked it on a hill, I live in a hilly area happens all the time.
my 2007 6 cylinder toyota has got to be the best car in the world..bought it brand new and only had regular maintance on it
I had a 2004 PT Cruiser Limited top trim. Drove it 2 years. No problems. However, slow, terrible mpg, extremely un comfortable for more than getting groceries, and handling was poor! Lol
I always laugh at the newer Cadillac sedans. I've been seeing them dead on the side of the road since they introduced them in the mid 2000's.
The last good Cadillac ever made was the 1993 Deville
After all the things Scotty's said about them, I bet Volkswagen would ask Lego not to send him anything.
They should have used the 300 straight 6 in the Bronco!
The only thing holding me back from getting a Bronco is the engine choices. I wish they would put a regular 6 cylinder engine in them. Looks like Mazda will be releasing a straight 6 engine soon. I will be all over that if Ford would put something similar in the Bronco.
05 Highlander 272k miles. Front drive....well maintained.
I have 2010 GMC Acadia since 2010 and it hasn’t given me a motor or transmission issues
$220 for the Lego VW bus is a little rich for my blood, for a toy.
That's why when I got a Saturn Outlook, once I found out the 09 Outlook had direct gasoline injection, I went back to the 08 Outlook, and got it.
And it's back baby!!!...Take it to the junkyard and then a chevy dealership pops up 😅😂😂😂 never gets old.
