Strong - Through Time When he was but a small child They told him he'd grow big and strong To look out for his little sister To protect his family and friends It meant little to him In a world of make believe Army-men, dirt bikes, and games He did not understand As he grew he observed the world His friends paired up But he was left alone Second choice to the more charismatic boys He did not feel strong There was no one to protect Only himself and his whims A life of solitude, shadows, and sadness Life passed him by Alone, yet unwavering He grew into himself Did best for those he loved Yet, no one shared his home Just the tail with four paws The coffee pot, the car, the boat The bills, and fees, and responsibilites He sat on his porch With his coffee and cane A new tail with four new paws But also grey and old and in pain His back was bent and broken His muscles sore and stiff His arms could no longer lift And yet he still sat alone He remebered his friends Family he buried His little sister two towns over Who called only on holidays Yet here he sat A life gone by That he managed to survive Leaving no hurt in his wake He knew then He was strong Through all of life Right up to the end

I feel forgiving oneself at our age makes us beautiful too as we can ponder on regrets etc. Letting go of situations right now, to just enjoy life & the beauty around & enjoy events etc ..
