I'm a Korean novice blacksmith.
I'm learning a lot from watching your videos.
Thank you.
Excellent! Glad you are enjoying the videos! Cheers
I am having trouble finding the key hole punch you showed us. Could you please send a link for that tool? Thanks 🙏🏻
Tandy leather online. I will try to find one
late lol, not sure how I missed this one, but thanks, leather work is something I haven't got as far as really yet and this vid is a mine of useful info, much appreciated
Thanks Andy! When you get into leather you will either love it or hate it.
Very good leather sheath...👍👍👍
Great video I think I'm going to enjoy making sheaths more than the blades
I absolutely love the leather work It it's completely different than the metal work it's quite comfortable and artistic
The information you present is excellent, but what keeps me coming back is your absolutely infectious enthusiasm for the craft. I don't think I've ever seen you just going through the motions, or slapping something together all half-assed just to get a project or video out.
You sound like a kid in a candy shop - No, that's not quite right....You sound like someone who is exactly where they want to be.
Thanks for another excellent video.
Cheers!
Man that really Resonated with me! Thank you!
No fluff on this channel! Always meaningful, helpful, and something new whatever the topic; progressive, thus adding to the process toward the next level. You kick ass dude!
Thank you man! I appreciate that!
Your skills are amazing..
Man I appreciate that!
Miss your content Aaron. Hope you’re well!
Where is glue screw rivets?
I buy from Tandy leather
As always great video I always learn more with every one you do and save many of them to come back and refresh my brain at times. I do have a question though... What is the dimension of your maker's mark????
About 1 centimeter square
love your videos. Any chance you can link the leather tooling for purchase links? I need to upgrade mine.
Yes sir I bought everything through Tandy leather. They have a decent selection online
I have to get myself a swivel knife at some point. I think that I would enjoy using it. Nice kit!
Yes you will
Great vid, I have done some leather work, sheaths, telling what tools are necessary and which you don't need is spot on, great for saving new makers $.
Thank you!
Another awesome video! You made some awesome sheaths! Very nice ones! All the ones I’ve made are extremely simple. I tried to do a wet leather and form it but it didn’t want to stay formed very well. I’ll be waiting for the next video
On the wet leather forming it is crucial to allow it to dry fully in the shape you want it to hold! Thank you for the compliments!
Hello, what is the difficulty on making an horizontal to the belt sheath, instade a vertical? does it has to be really tight to the belt or can it be a little loose?
Medium difficult. The knife needs to be a deep carry so it won’t fall out and it does need to be some what tight on the belt so when you extra t the knife there isn't a lot of play in the system
great video arin cant wait to get more in the next video appreciate it Mark 😃👍👍 my leather work is getting better each sheath i make thanks to your awesome instructional videos
You are welcome!
I just subscribed! Your videos have helped me make my very first ever sheath. While not perfect (as I have to hone my skills obviously), I can still say the first one I made was not thrown away, and is 100% useable thanks to your content. Another video you did on making a sheath as part of an entire knife making series (it was a start to finish entire process, amazing video series btw!) helped me know how to make a welt (never considered that before or knew of it and why), the stitching, the dying, beveling edges, etc... I thank you for your content and the way you take the time to lay it all out instead of assuming we know this or that. Keep up the great content!
Thank you for the positive feedback! After making your first sheath was there anything I should add to the next video
@@Aleeknives Honestly, with as much information as you provide, and the way you provide it (easy for the first timer, you're totally gentle 😀lol) the only thing I could think to add would be maybe a part where, say I make a mistake cutting the leather, and either don't have enough material to just cut another, or just don't want to. How could you fix some screwed up lines when cutting? I mean, it's not like I did that or anything... haha Also, maybe explain the differences in the oz ratings, and what would be the BEST all around knife sheath weight rating for leather, and what the other weights would be good for. 3rd, the process of "wet forming" and what you need to do it... I assumed the dye I was using helped loosen it up for forming mine, and I did a decent job, but was that what I needed to do? If you add that, I think that would be amazing! I will definitely be contributing to your Patreon as well, you've already saved me tons of money in your advice, and I appreciate it more than words could express!
Well I really appreciate that you invested the time to communicate ways for me to improve my upcoming videos! You gave me some really good ideas! Thank you
