Hey Alec, just watched an old video of yours, and I find it absolutely crazy how everything's changed! What struck me most though is how much happier you seem now. You make jokes and make us laugh and it's really really cool, but back then it felt different I don't know why xD just here to say it's great how happy and joy packed you are now, and I love your videos. Cheers.

I was a little worried about the inflation of hyped content. You have done a lot of cool stuff lately always puching on notch after notch higher, but I have to say that this video made me realize that it doesn't matter if the prodjects are cool enough, you are an awesome maker and just watching you learn and push your own limits further and further each day in the crafts, facinating by the knowledge and wisdom gained, inspires me as a fellow maker to make stuff and get better. To enjoy the craft and show people what I am capable of creating. Just like you. Keep at it! Great content!

I greatly appreciate a man who goes outside of his comfort zone and does things fearlessly. The need for sheaths to finish off your work has been something which your blades have cried out for. I love to see you attempt this stuff. Kudos!

Water! The leather should be worked damp. It will help the dye soak in more evenly too. I found 'Armitage Leather' helpful. His saddle stitch video should really help. Did you pick up that tool from Tandy Leather at Maker's Central perchance?

I dabble in leather work, using the basket weave tool is the hardest to learn.
A moment of inattention and the project is truly ruined.
Every time you move the tool you have to check, spacing, angle, direction, orientation, and then make the same hammer strike so each tool mark follows the last, and sets up the next mark.
    Great work.
Looking forward to seeing the final results.
BTW: when you stitch up the belt loop on this sheath make sure to leave enough room so the knife can be shifted foreword or backwards on the belt for comfort.

Looking great Alec. Just a heads up, if you haven't seen it, it's a good idea to punch out a hole at the end of any knife slits (for mabey button holes or belt loops.... not your belt loop design, don't worry) to stop the cut tearing and give the button a bit more wiggle room.

It does not matter how long you have been working leather it is always thought provoking and nerve racking when you are doing something new or working a new design.
      www.amazon.com/Blu-BLUING-SOLUTION-GUNSMITH-BLACKEN/dp/B07BC9C7YN

Alec heres a suggestion for the dies to use with stamps. I recommend you use hi-lite dye from tandy leather as a secondary dye layer for stamped or engraved veg leather. You'll get a much better "patina" effect on those engravings if you use it right. The deep areas will be darker while the high areas will stay pale. Tou can then use a sealer or beeswax and a heat gun to seal it and give it a nice shine. It's especially effective on woven patterns like the one you have here or swivel knife engraving if you want to get into it. I think it's worth it if you want to bring those sheathes to a whole other level!! Anyway amazing job on that knife! I started with leatherworking but Thanks to you I'm now an amateur blacksmith and knifemaker! Your work is extremely inspirational and I cannot wait to see where it gets you. Hopefully someday I'll be able to visit you, share my experience and perhaps learn from one of the best. I do hope you read this comment, your videos have been lifechanging for me when I needed it most. Keep on enjoying and sharing the process and keep making us use that elbow grease!
