One of the most valuable tips I’ve learned from you is that everything should be multipurpose. I’ve saved so much space (and headaches) employing this simple rule! Even a luxury handbag has to earn its spot in your suitcase! My favorite Teddy Blake would have to be the Lola.

It weighs next to nothing, lies flat across my body so it can easily fit under a jacket, and somehow manages to fit lots more on the inside than you'd guess from the outside. And it is really perfect packing cube shape, so I will try that next trip.

Eunice! I thought I was a good packer, but your videos have taught me so much. I just returned from a trip last night and tried out a few of your tips. My favorite - wearing a fanny pack flipped to the back. You were right! It went unnoticed, and I was able to keep at hand those items most needed with easy access and still have two carry-on bags. I reuse Shein package bags(that the clothes are delivered in) as packing cubes....they may not compress that much but are sturdy enough to last a week. I can get a full outfit in each bag and keep my dirty clothes separate on the trip home.... plus I can feel good that I'm getting some extra use out of normally one-use plastics items.
Yes! You don’t have to spend a lot of money on packing cubes and just use whatever you can to get yourself organized! I love that you reuse single use plastics more than one time! 🙏😊❤️

Great video as usual. That bag is SO you! Believe me, you do NOT have more packing cubes than anyone!!! Mine take up 2 of the largest size Mastercraft tote boxes! And that's after throwing out the large number that the mice irredeemably fouled. I also use a dry bag as a packing cube, and use it to wash the day's clothes out each evening to dry overnight. I love the way you pack different outfits together in bags associated with the activity.
I too just went to pull out my travel items to find little furry creatures have damaged 😢 mainly my dang dry bags. I thought having them in those sturdy totes would prevent them from getting in but nope. So now all 6 of my cats are out hunting in my garage 😂. Does the dry bag work really well at keeping your clothes clean (or at least smelling clean lol).
@@stargypsysoul604 are use the dry bag to wash things like bras, socks, underwear, and tank tops. Even some shirts and shorts.. it’s a little too small to wash any pants though, but usually I can get through at least a week and several where’s my pants without having to wash them. 🙏😊❤️
@@TheoryofSimple I use a Scrubba wash bag that I've had for a few decades now. Got it way back when I was teaching in Japan and backpacking through Asia on my holidays. It works as a dry bag for packing, and easily washes out items in the hotel sink to dry overnight (except for maybe one sweater and jacket, if it won't hang dry overnight, I don't pack it!) So even most of the pants I pack will dry overnight, and the bag is big enough if you only wash one pair at a time.
I purchased compression cubes and waited to long try them out, I put them in my should not have bought bin. I like the way you packed. Will use some of your ideas. Thanks.
I’m so sorry that you didn’t get to use them for that however, I will tell you that you can still use them as packing cubes but just don’t use them as compression. If you're crazy to use a purse strap as a belt, you're not alone in the club. I've done that before, and it actually allows a little pattern in my mostly solid travel capsule. I love a lot of the bags, but seem to be drawn toward the Lola. Picking a color would be a challenge tho. Thanks for this great video. I wasn't sure where you were headed with no packing cubes, but it makes a lot of sense for a carryon.
I have a few shoulder straps from bags I rarely use(I do use the bags). I have a little wallet crossbody purse I just bought for an upcoming cruise. The wallet is very nice but the skinny strap that came wth it is kinda junky. It dawned on me to use the thicker, sturdier straps I had. They all worked out great and I can even adjust the lengths to go over my shoulders or around my waist...SO much more comfortable than that skinny strap. I'm also going to use Eunice's tip abt wearing a fanny pack(in my case, the wallet CB I ordered) around my back under my travel hoodie when I'm on my flight to and from my cruise terminal(to and from USA/Portugal). I usually follow all the luggage restrictions for most airlines but I know I will need every bit of extra space for all the souvenirs I will definitely be buying and this little hack is great for that.

I never fail to get a great idea from your videos. Believe me, I do incorporate them into my life and packing. Using the bag strap as a belt is going to be my favorite thing to do this summer. Dresses are so easy to pack and allow you to have more outfits because you’re not packing tops and bottoms. Throw on your bag belt and you’re ready to go!! I have even used them while biking for a short ride to the beach, just packing snacks/drinks/lunch, towel/lotion/sunglasses, etc.. adding packing capsule techniques to my bike basket. Great ideas! I love the full outfit in a bag! Plus, I never thought of using that long purse strap as a belt! One suggestion, when using the shopping bags for the shoes, maybe turn them inside out, so they don't get dirty from the shoes. And if the shoes do get the outside of the bag dirty it can probably be easily wiped off, but you could still use the inside of the bag for items say from a farmer's market.
Hi Julie, that’s an excellent idea! Since I’m using one of them for laundry, I’m not too worried about them getting dirty and for the shopping bag you’re right I generally use it just for either going to the Peter farmers market. I carry a few bags with me when I’m traveling like this because I don’t want to keep getting plastic bags in the store..
@@TheoryofSimple Here in Ontario, stores are not permitted to provide plastic bags any more. Your only option is to buy reusable bags or bring your own. They have been charging for the plastic bags for about 25 years now, but as of January 1st this year, they are illegal anywhere in Ontario. Any other single use plastics too, such as disposable cups, straws, etc. - even glow sticks (a staple of any go bag) are no longer permitted. Canadians used to smuggle an extra bottle of booze or cigarettes across the border - now they're smuggling plastic solo cups for their lawn party and glow sticks for their camping trips!!
@@jenharvey3397 wow! Good for them for being pro environment! I remember many years ago in France, being at a store, and they offered these little folding cloth bags, and I bought several of them and have been using them ever since. It’s been probably about 35 years so the US is behind the times..
@@TheoryofSimple Yes, I have been using them for decades. I just ordered a new set, since the mice have fouled most of the ones I had lying around. In Japan, as you no doubt know, people carry decorated squares of cloth called furushiki for everything from a makeshift purse or briefcase, to carrying your bento box to work, to wrapping gifts. I developed something of a mania for collecting them, and still have quite a few, although many were given away over the years. That is still my preferred way to wrap gifts, they are so beautiful and elegant. I also got so accustomed to always carrying a handkerchief to dry my hands after washing them in a public loo, it felt awful when I returned to Canada to be suddenly throwing away perfectly good paper after drying my hands. So I kept up the habit here, and I still always have both a handkerchief and a bandana in my purse.
@@jenharvey3397 because my mother is Japanese I am always into this day. Continue to carry a silk scarf with me every day. it’s one of the most useful items that I carry I think we need to go back to the day were men and women carry handkerchiefs❤️

Ok, I admit I was skeptical of useing a handbag to pack; but you won me over! Best bag is the Kim Croco 14" Dark- love the color and texture of the leather.
The bag I like is Lola in bordo. I never thought of packing clothes inside my purse. I usually take a smaller bag that doesn't fit my emergency item lets alone what is needed daily. Great idea thank you

I’ve noticed that w compression cubes and thus use it better as one zip packing cubes instead. Great ideas w the shopping bags and backpack, and still have space in ur carry on! I’m always learning in ur channel. Gorgeous hand bag, the nude pink Kim Lizard 11" is gorgeous, perfect size and seem safe to use un public.

I like the new perspectives that your videos give me on what to pack and what not to pack. I recently bought a collapsible bowl and I made soup in it during my last trip! Thank you for that idea! I normally use compression cubes because my main luggage piece is a backpack and I leave larger purses behind but, as I have paired down my personal item bag, I could maybe use a larger purse as a personal item bag and use a foldable shopping bag to keep it clean when it’s under the seat. I looked at the Teddy Blake site and I really like the unusual shape of Vera Palmelatto style and I love the brightness of it in royal blue!

Love this way of packing. Like you said, there are scenarios where the cubes, either style, do work; however this way is more efficient. As for the drawing, my favorite is the Gigi Palmelatto Gold "15 - Dark Grey .

It also hides any wrinkles easily so it’s great for travel, and it would go with any of the beautiful colors of the Teddy Blake handbags!

Oohoo, I LOVE the Gigi Palmelatto Gold 15" - Dark Orange. It is stunning! I would use it as my personal item,, and it would fit my 12 inch Surface pro, a couple of tablets, phone, makeup and things needed for in-flight. Love your ideas today as always. On the side of the luggage with the metal bars you can utilize this space more by putting your shoes parallel to them so they will fill up that space so to speak. Same direction as the curling iron.
Hi. I really enjoy your videos. I visited the Teddy Blake store and my favorite is the Kim Stampatto 11" - Orange. I think a pop of color is good with any outfit and orange can be used for 3 seasons. A close 2nd choice is the Vanessa Blossom 14" - Light Blue&Blue Jeans because I wear a lot of blue jeans and it would go with them nicely. Have a great visit with your son!

It weighs next to nothing, lies flat across my body so it can easily fit under a jacket, and somehow manages to fit lots more on the inside than you'd guess from the outside. And it is really perfect packing cube shape, so I will try that next trip.

My favorite - wearing a fanny pack flipped to the back. You were right! It went unnoticed, and I was able to keep at hand those items most needed with easy access and still have two carry-on bags. I reuse Shein package bags(that the clothes are delivered in) as packing cubes....they may not compress that much but are sturdy enough to last a week. I can get a full outfit in each bag and keep my dirty clothes separate on the trip home.... plus I can feel good that I'm getting some extra use out of normally one-use plastics items.
Yes! You don’t have to spend a lot of money on packing cubes and just use whatever you can to get yourself organized! I love that you reuse single use plastics more than one time! 🙏😊❤️
I used Shein’s bags too. I like that it stretches. I could fit 6 pants in the bigger shein bag.

Great video as usual. That bag is SO you! Believe me, you do NOT have more packing cubes than anyone!!! Mine take up 2 of the largest size Mastercraft tote boxes! And that's after throwing out the large number that the mice irredeemably fouled. I also use a dry bag as a packing cube, and use it to wash the day's clothes out each evening to dry overnight. I love the way you pack different outfits together in bags associated with the activity.
I too just went to pull out my travel items to find little furry creatures have damaged 😢 mainly my dang dry bags. I thought having them in those sturdy totes would prevent them from getting in but nope. So now all 6 of my cats are out hunting in my garage 😂. Does the dry bag work really well at keeping your clothes clean (or at least smelling clean lol).

@@stargypsysoul604 are use the dry bag to wash things like bras, socks, underwear, and tank tops. Even some shirts and shorts.. it’s a little too small to wash any pants though, but usually I can get through at least a week and several where’s my pants without having to wash them. 🙏😊❤️
@@TheoryofSimple I use a Scrubba wash bag that I've had for a few decades now. Got it way back when I was teaching in Japan and backpacking through Asia on my holidays. It works as a dry bag for packing, and easily washes out items in the hotel sink to dry overnight (except for maybe one sweater and jacket, if it won't hang dry overnight, I don't pack it!) So even most of the pants I pack will dry overnight, and the bag is big enough if you only wash one pair at a time.
I purchased compression cubes and waited to long try them out, I put them in my should not have bought bin. I like the way you packed. Will use some of your ideas. Thanks.
I’m so sorry that you didn’t get to use them for that however, I will tell you that you can still use them as packing cubes but just don’t use them as compression. If you're crazy to use a purse strap as a belt, you're not alone in the club. I've done that before, and it actually allows a little pattern in my mostly solid travel capsule. I love a lot of the bags, but seem to be drawn toward the Lola. Picking a color would be a challenge tho. Thanks for this great video. I wasn't sure where you were headed with no packing cubes, but it makes a lot of sense for a carryon.
I have a few shoulder straps from bags I rarely use(I do use the bags). I have a little wallet crossbody purse I just bought for an upcoming cruise. The wallet is very nice but the skinny strap that came wth it is kinda junky. It dawned on me to use the thicker, sturdier straps I had. They all worked out great and I can even adjust the lengths to go over my shoulders or around my waist...SO much more comfortable than that skinny strap. I'm also going to use Eunice's tip abt wearing a fanny pack(in my case, the wallet CB I ordered) around my back under my travel hoodie when I'm on my flight to and from my cruise terminal(to and from USA/Portugal). I usually follow all the luggage restrictions for most airlines but I know I will need every bit of extra space for all the souvenirs I will definitely be buying and this little hack is great for that.

I never fail to get a great idea from your videos. Believe me, I do incorporate them into my life and packing. Using the bag strap as a belt is going to be my favorite thing to do this summer. Dresses are so easy to pack and allow you to have more outfits because you’re not packing tops and bottoms. Throw on your bag belt and you’re ready to go!! Great ideas! I love the full outfit in a bag! Plus, I never thought of using that long purse strap as a belt! One suggestion, when using the shopping bags for the shoes, maybe turn them inside out, so they don't get dirty from the shoes. And if the shoes do get the outside of the bag dirty it can probably be easily wiped off, but you could still use the inside of the bag for items say from a farmer's market.

Since I’m using one of them for laundry, I’m not too worried about them getting dirty and for the shopping bag you’re right I generally use it just for either going to the Peter farmers market. I carry a few bags with me when I’m traveling like this because I don’t want to keep getting plastic bags in the store..
@@TheoryofSimple Here in Ontario, stores are not permitted to provide plastic bags any more. Your only option is to buy reusable bags or bring your own. They have been charging for the plastic bags for about 25 years now, but as of January 1st this year, they are illegal anywhere in Ontario. Any other single use plastics too, such as disposable cups, straws, etc. - even glow sticks (a staple of any go bag) are no longer permitted. Canadians used to smuggle an extra bottle of booze or cigarettes across the border - now they're smuggling plastic solo cups for their lawn party and glow sticks for their camping trips!!
@@jenharvey3397 wow! Good for them for being pro environment! I remember many years ago in France, being at a store, and they offered these little folding cloth bags, and I bought several of them and have been using them ever since. It’s been probably about 35 years so the US is behind the times..
@@TheoryofSimple Yes, I have been using them for decades. I just ordered a new set, since the mice have fouled most of the ones I had lying around. In Japan, as you no doubt know, people carry decorated squares of cloth called furushiki for everything from a makeshift purse or briefcase, to carrying your bento box to work, to wrapping gifts. I developed something of a mania for collecting them, and still have quite a few, although many were given away over the years. That is still my preferred way to wrap gifts, they are so beautiful and elegant. I also got so accustomed to always carrying a handkerchief to dry my hands after washing them in a public loo, it felt awful when I returned to Canada to be suddenly throwing away perfectly good paper after drying my hands. So I kept up the habit here, and I still always have both a handkerchief and a bandana in my purse.
@@jenharvey3397 because my mother is Japanese I am always into this day. Continue to carry a silk scarf with me every day. it’s one of the most useful items that I carry I think we need to go back to the day were men and women carry handkerchiefs❤️

I like the Vera bag from Teddy Blake. I'm a fan of bucket bags and I've haven't seen a bag this shape that doesn't look like a bucket but once opened it provides a lot of room inside. Love it!

I’ve noticed that w compression cubes and thus use it better as one zip packing cubes instead. Great ideas w the shopping bags and backpack, and still have space in ur carry on! I’m always learning in ur channel. Gorgeous hand bag, the nude pink Kim Lizard 11" is gorgeous, perfect size and seem safe to use un public.

I normally use compression cubes because my main luggage piece is a backpack and I leave larger purses behind but, as I have paired down my personal item bag, I could maybe use a larger purse as a personal item bag and use a foldable shopping bag to keep it clean when it’s under the seat.
I looked at the Teddy Blake site and I really like the unusual shape of Vera Palmelatto style and I love the brightness of it in royal blue!

Love this way of packing. Like you said, there are scenarios where the cubes, either style, do work; however this way is more efficient. As for the drawing, my favorite is the Gigi Palmelatto Gold "15 - Dark Grey .

I LOVE the Alice tote. My favorite is the Alice Vitello-Media in blue black. Talk about sophisticated! It has a beautiful smooth black satiny exterior while the inside is a GORGEOUS royal blue. I love that style for its versatility and function.

Oohoo, I LOVE the Gigi Palmelatto Gold 15" - Dark Orange. It is stunning! I would use it as my personal item,, and it would fit my 12 inch Surface pro, a couple of tablets, phone, makeup and things needed for in-flight. Love your ideas today as always. I do much the same as you. I thing compression bags make more problems than they solve except for sweaters or puffers. Multi purpose packing is the best. Thank you so much!

On the side of the luggage with the metal bars you can utilize this space more by putting your shoes parallel to them so they will fill up that space so to speak. Same direction as the curling iron.
Unfortunately, my shoes don’t fit in those bars. Clothing on the other hand will always sink into any space.😊
Hi. I really enjoy your videos. I visited the Teddy Blake store and my favorite is the Kim Stampatto 11" - Orange. I think a pop of color is good with any outfit and orange can be used for 3 seasons. A close 2nd choice is the Vanessa Blossom 14" - Light Blue&Blue Jeans because I wear a lot of blue jeans and it would go with them nicely. Have a great visit with your son!
