When I tell people "Father Knows Best" is one of my top 5 favorite shows of ALL TIME, they assume it's probably because there wasn't any cussing. Or adult situations. But, no, the main reason it's a favorite is because it was an interesting show. 🤓 Betty's birthday, the Bus to Nowhere, and the short-wave radio storm at sea were all good episodes. I still watch FKB every weekday.
It's hard watching this show now knowing about the abuse Lauren Chapin suffered off screen. Sure, it's just a TV show but what Hollywood does to child actors is criminal!
@MegaMagicdog, it was her PARENTS, her homelife not Hollywood. Shirley Temple, others did just fine because THEIR parents were fierce bulldog protectors and KEPT them safe.
@@MTknitter22 I think kids like Shirley Temple are the exception rather than the rule. Even she was approached by several scumbags during her time in the biz. Producer Arthur Freed exposed himself to her when she was just 12! David O. Selznick tried to assault her when she was 17! George Jessel also tried groping her until she fought him off with a kick to the groin! Maybe she was lucky but there are so many child actors abused in Hollywood - some by their families who live vicariously through their kids, others by executives who are admitted pedos! BTW - her father spent most of the 3 million bucks she earned during her career!
