One thing that has made me happier with my wardrobe of late is getting the colour palette correct. If a colour suits my skin tone I am more likely to wear it over and over. I have been researching my colours more thoroughly recently and it's certainly made me more confident with my outfits choices. Great video Val 😊
This can‘t be stressed enough! I reached my „goal“ of having this perfect, clean, neutral-toned pinterest-worthy closet that looked great on photos (i.e. photos of the actual closet as a whole) but the single pieces on me … not so much and I was never really happy with it. I recently had a professional colortype consulting done and it turned out that „my“ colors are indeed very different from my aspiration before. Now I added some pieces in my recommended colors and booom: the sudden contentment and happiness with my closet …
These are great tips! I personally endorse all of them ❤️ I started doing monthly capsules in November of last year, and I HAVE been surprised at how having fewer items to choose from has made me more creative and happier with my current wardrobe.
Since I have discovered your channel, I watch all your videos! I am at home and I am petite too, so it's great for me! Keep up the great work and thank you for this great channel :) Kisses from France
I tried the "all classics, all neutrals" approach back when I was first starting to minimize my wardrobe and I was extremely bored with it after less than a month. Also I really don't like earthy tones and they don't look good on me, but all of those templates included a classic trench, camel coat, beige clothing. It does look beautiful and easy and coherent when you look at it on a template, but unless you really own that very classic style it will instantly feel "not like yourself". I still own some classic and neutral pieces, but they serve a different purpose in my wardrobe since they act as a base layer for the patterns and colours I love so they won't clash with each other. I'm sad that there aren't many templates for people who love bold styles, that would be helpful to show that you can have less clothes and not sacrifice your own personal taste.
Yeah the capsule wardrobe information that's out there is really limited in terms of colors for sure. I think Signe from the channel Useless made a video recently on how to add bold colors to your capsule... maybe that video would be helpful for you! 😊
I Love having a capsule wardrobe ! Iam retired and don’t need a lot of the clothes I had for work ! I now have four coats ( 3 puffer coats and 1 wool coat, 3 pairs of Levi Jeans ( black, medium wash ) 5 sweaters, cashmere turtleneck the rest are crew neck and I love Everlane and Madewell Sweaters and 1 pair of black booties and 3 pairs of Uggs love them and 1 pair of black loafers ! And of course my crew neck tshirts I do have a lot of those ! White, black and Iam loving graphic tshirts ! Thanks for sharing your tips !
I love all the pieces you have described that make up your wardrobe! My favorite concept of the entire thing is having items you LOVE! when you love it it is never a waste because you ACTUALLY WEAR THEM!
My tip is don't expect a capsule wardrobe to be one-and-done! Making and using a capsule is a great learning experience, so every season and year you will have new knowledge to implement, and your wardrobe will keep developing. So long as we are learning and changing, our wardrobes are too!
Have you tried a capsule wardrobe before? What tips would you give? Let us know in the comments! 😊

Thanks Kate! I agree about the color palette too! 😊
