Evocative music by Laurie Johnson. A very talented writer and orchestrator.
I could totally play Track 18 in a club and people would go mental.. thanks for uploading.. some inspiring stuff right there!
@tippnick I say the problem is the quantity, not quality. (Though if people wanted stereo/surround sound of Blu-ray levels, then it appears you just can't please some people...)
yeah sure is and cool thanks. I have the first 2 series intend to get them all though eventually.
💎
oh dam that's a real pain! Lets hope so! Watching professionals right now on itv4 :)
@ MrThrasher76 No problem ... Which reminds me , There Were more That I forgot to put up ...
@justmightbeokay Thanks mate! I'll try and see if I can get any more from this CD soon, as I love the Professionals. I believe track 18 is a bad guy theme, which plays in 2 episodes: Foxhole on the roof (As mentioned in the video) and in another titled "A man called Quinn" It's a shame, because the episodes they've taken the music from are not all the best episodes...There are some duff ones, including a load from "The Gun" a rather lacklustre one.
That Gun episode is ridiculous. A random guy gets shot on a golf course by the bad guys when trying out their gun, making it a murder weapon and vital evidence for a future murder trial, yet at the end we see the three main characters using its super powerful telescopic sight to spy on a scantily-clad young lady in an apartment block and finding it funny. Some of the episodes in series 1 are very forgettable but the programme did grow up and improve a lot after that.
Me too. :( Unfortunately it's not on the album, all I have left were tracks from "The Gun" most of which are a little bit weak and lacking musically. I might still upload them if I'm really bored, purely for completion's sake. I reckon someone should do a follow-up release of music from eps like Spy probe and Close Quarters.
I miss Lawson Last Stand where is it
@tippnick Well, Try a good online site, like Amazon or something along those lines, because that's where I got mine. It's a decent 3 disk set, and although a lot of Pros music isn't on there, there are a few other things on the other two disks to keep you satisfied. I still like it, and the booklets by laurie add a personal touch.
Also, your welcome!
Modern police drama music generates none of this tension and suspense.
One wouldn't expect it to have 70's funk flowing through it, but still.... it has none of the suspense. The genius of Johnson.
Police drama's specifically, no, most police shows today like Line of Duty have pretty forgettable and generic soundtracks...(Don't get me wrong, LOD's not a bad show but I don't even remember any of the soundtrack as it made little impression on me) But there are some great crime/drama soundtracks made in the last few years for TV. I quite like Cristobel Tapia De Veer's scores for shows like Utopia and Dirk Gently's holistic detective agency. (Sadly both shows have been cancelled) His music tends to be very offbeat, strange and dark, but he is also very good at creating suspense. Laurie's score fits the Professionals really well; the main theme tune is obviously the one everyone remembers, but some of the score during the action scenes are actually my favourite pieces. He really did a good job of setting the tone of the show; nowadays it seems fairly cheesy but for it's time it was quite gritty, and the score really sells you on that.
I would have thought they could re-record musical scores of which they didn't have in this soundtrack (With LJ's permission of course) using similar instruments, based on footage from the episodes. I guess maybe they didn't have the budget to do that. I don't think the quality is that bad actually, considering how old it is. I think those tapes must be somewhere though, however remote...
i want the last bit of music from spy probe the boat chasing scene but cant find it :(
It could of been me Maisy!
"You just watch the headlines, Jack - you're gonna see me walk away with a cool million - and you're gonna say to yourself 'That could have been me'."
@MrThrasher76 I case you're interested, I put in a few more, and created a playlist here: /watch?v=I3X6D1pEf6s&list=PL09767904172B41F4&index=0 (You may have to add in the RUclips URL at the beggining.)
I'm tempted to stop posting them when I get to the music from "The Gun" as it goes downhill from there.
Same. Generally a very poor episode. A good contender for the worst one ever made. (Quite a few of the later ones were a bit poor compared to the first two series.) I would try and record that section from Spy probe you mentioned, but I've lent my boxset to someone at the moment.
What is the name of the track that starts playing at 8.30?
It's from First Night (Although it also plays in a few other episodes), specifically the scene where Bodie, Doyle and Cowley rush over to a movie theatre.
Edward Hunter many thanks. Is “first night” the actual name of the track or the episode it plays in? It’s also played in the episode, “man without a past”, when Doyle chases Arthur Pendle.
What is the actual name of number 22 track?
@@DanielDoyle-o1k In the album it’s just called First Night, after the episode it appears in.
Ah i hated the one on the gun that's why i never watch that episode any more. That's the one episode that has a bad track cant stand it!
I'd take ANY episode of The Professionals over the rubbish that is churned out today. TV WAS better in the 70s. Our standard of living has got better yes, but TV is one thing that has got worse.
I'd take Pros over 99% of today's reality TV, (Although I do have a soft spot for Combat Dealers) but I think when it comes to modern dramas there are still some great ones out there.
@@GeriatricFan1963 Yes, I enjoy Combat Dealers too!
