Superb instrument and player. It is interesting to note how, over the years, so many absolutely iconic (also rock-) songs have been made using a Hammond organ.

Wunderbar, dass ich heute nach 73 Jahren mir dieses anhören kann, ein Instrument, das leider nicht mehr produziert wird?

Notice this is all just Hammond tone wheel Organ and no internal or external Leslie rotary speaker anywhere! So just the organ, it's internal amp/speakers, it's Vibrato Scanner (Chorus is created by using a mix of dry signal with vibrato mixed. There is one rotary knob with indentations and markings for V1,V2,V3,C1,C2,C3. Oh', and the organs own internal separate AO-44 Reverb amp and Hammond Reverb Springs. Laurens Hammond invented Spring Reverb! Now used in practically every good guitar amp, PA/Mixer, and a sought after effect in the recording studio. His first spring units were ridiculously large* and were utilized in Hammond Organ Tone Cabinets (in the electronic organ world a "tone cabinet" is a speaker cabinet with it's own preamp and power-amp built in, and ironically most have no real tone controls).
Note: The Hammond A100 series of organs (last digit designates cabinet style, ie. A102 is French Provencal) is identical to a Hammond B3, but has internal speakers. Both the A100 and B3 (and C3) use the same AO-28 tube preamp. So when new, naturally the A100 was a more expensive organ. However, the external tone cabinet for the B3 ran up the tally.
"Leslie Speaker" was a dirty word at Hammond dealers. Not really, but Laurens Hammond hated the Leslie speaker*. This is why Hammond never added Leslie switches on their organs, and why you see the _Leslie half moon switches_ mounted to the front of a Hammond organ.
    *See article > 34. Ken's Special Effects By Eric Larson ( 03.05.02) <
[ Blue highlighted numbered table of contents near bottom of page, choose 34.]
**See ytb - *Legendary Theatre Organists* , Hammond introduction beg. at 40min , Hammond Paramount film short from 1937 beg. at 41min.
[The film short was made just after the Hammond became popular, nearly as soon as it was introduced! It shows the remarkably simple Tone Wheel and wire-wound electromagnetic pickup ( which is duplicated 91 times...you'll see).
Incidentally, the single motor that keeps perfect speed in the Hammond organ (so it never needs tuned!) is another Laurens Hammond invention- the Synchronous Motor. Initially designed for the first electric clocks with a smooth, tick free second hand ( for the Hammond Clock Company clocks of course, which preceded and continued along with the Hammond Organ Company), the synchronous motor has became an indispensable necessary component used in products worldwide. Animated beer signs for one! Ah'! My very first ytb vlde0!-

and that is probably one reason why home organs were eventually considered toys and not serious musical instruments. The organ market for this type of music machine stopped in the 80s. Today the market is dominated by digital copies of the original Hammond organs. Viscount Legend, Crumar, Mojo, Nord and many more

he uses far more nuances of the Hammond organ's registration possibilities than most organists like Jimmy Smith and co. Fast forward to 7:11 and 15:40 for a more typical and less cheesy Hammond sound
