If there was a highlight real of my personal favourite TV detective shows over the last 45 years, then The Professionals would be in the top 3. It was simply class.
Great double act from Bodie and Doyle, with head Cowley barking the orders. Loved it when it was first aired late 70's and it became favourite 'cop' show, even more than what the U.S were offering, although good too. It certainly gave a run for their money.
It was a fantastic piece of cinematography. An unforgettable opening. It was so clever to momentarily make the reflected scene look like the actual scene (a conventional city setting shot) and then shock by driving through it.
YOU KNOW IT BRO!!!!!!!!!! 👌🏽👊🏽 I’M A GROWN 47 AND NEARLY A 48 YEAR OLD MAN NOW AND I STILL JUMP UP AND DOWN TO THIS BAD ASS INTRO (EXACTLY) THE SAME WAY I DID WHEN I WAS A 3 AND 4 YEAR OLD BOY WHEN WATCHING THIS AND HEARING THE INTRO!!!!!!!!!! 🤩😂🤣😅 WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY CLEANED UP SPECIAL INTRODUCTION VERSION OF THE PROFESSIONALS FEATURING GORDON, LEWIS AND MARTIN IN A CLASSIC, SKY BLUE SILVER SHADOW II ROLLER COASTER AS WELL TOO!!!!!!!!!! 😍🫢😃
I was at Secondary School when the first series of The Professionals started on ITV, or STV in Scotland. When it came to the end of the School week, you knew it was going to be a good night on Friday, if the Professionals were on!! Proper entertainment. Halcyon days.
IF YOU DONT THINK THATS ..COOL..!!!!..LOVE THE OLDER OPENING SEQUENCE...I LIKE THE BACK DOOR ..BEHIND THE SCENES FEEL TO IT.....MORE REALISTIC....TOUCH OF PARAMILITARY ...BUT APPROVED....ARTISTIC LICENCE 😂 GREAT..
The sequel series with Edward Woodward is more of a show for fans of Woodward/Callan/Equalizer than an effective sequel to this. But it's fun and does have the cool theme music. (But skip episode one, which is a bit of an editing disaster in parts).
It's terrible and I was there for the filming of a number of episodes. Laurie Johnson re-recorded his theme at the last minute and replaced the version the new composers had created as he was exec producer.. At least I got to chat to Sidney Hayers and Peter Brayham before they passed away.
Those first 12 seconds of the starting theme and the crashing through that glass, Tops almost all other starting sequences. 70s & 80s some superb theme tunes, M.Vice, H-50 etc. Brit Theme tunes were rubbish except this one.
Unforgettable theme, unforgettable series!
Awesome.loved it then and still do.only one Lewis Collins.
R I P LEWIS COLLINS AND GORDON JACKSON MUCH LOVED 🙏🌹🌹🌹

Thank you. Keeps my childhood memory alive.
Best TV theme ever!
RIP Gordon Jackson and Lewis Collins
Lewis Collins ist auch tot?😮😮😭
A theme that is serious, intimidating, threatening, menacing and funky all at the same time. Thank you Mr Johnson
Laurie Johnson , THE BEST !!!! He do with the funk and orchestra massive mix
Have this theme tune as my ringtone on my phone
Always love how furious Lewis Collins looks
That's why he failed his James Bond audition. They said he was too aggressive. Ironically that's closer to Daniel Craig today.
LC would have been awesome in View to a kill imo

When every boy of my generation fell in love with the Ford Capri, what a show!
Not forgetting the RS2000 driven by Doyle.

Making Saturday morning sound like a mission during childhood in the late seventies.

The Granada going through the glass window! Wow!
It was a fantastic piece of cinematography. An unforgettable opening. It was so clever to momentarily make the reflected scene look like the actual scene (a conventional city setting shot) and then shock by driving through it.
Like a good scotch gets better with age
0 : 29 , Bodie's costume and gait, wickedly excellent
ICONIC INTROS
Totally Badass series, nothing comes close to this today.
Top Gear and the Professionals were a big influence in my childhood, so the reference to this in the final Grand Tour episode was perfect.
SOOOOO BAD ASS!!!!!:D

That voice-over only ever appeared on the first 2/3 episodes if I recall.
"I've got special men." Lucky Cowley😊.

Met him a few times at various airfields with his Boeing Stearman. Nice bloke.
Never seen the second intro before. Cheesy lol all turn up in a Rolls to do an obstacle course and then run back to it to chip off 😂

The British Starsky and Hutch …..even the music was the same

The New Professionals was a complete abberation. It was canned after one series.
