It was over that was one of them fade2black endings that they used to like to do back in the seventies there really wasn't an extra on this song to take it to the end so it was a fade2black type of thing you just got softer and softer until it was over.

I am very bias on this: NEVER will there be another Soulful Trio that can harmonize as Heavenly as my boys, my Gibb Men; & they did it all by ear! They couldn't even call it out to one another. *Remember, they never had a lesson, & neither of them knew how to read music! Such a phenomenal gift given to them by God. I'm digging your reactions & ecstatic to see your enjoyment of their creative talent. 👍Thank you for taking the time to post this & giving others the opportunity to experience what I encountered with them & my Precious Darling Andy.💘

"Too Much Heaven" for the harmonies and Barry's ethereal falsetto; "Tragedy" for drama and danceability; "Words" for Robin's lead vocal...and the late career live version of "Immortality" featuring Celine Dion is terrific too. Hard to go wrong with anything by the Gibbs though, really...

Being brothers their voices, although quite different, have similar tones so when Robin and Barry sing together they blend so well that it's sometimes hard to tell the difference. Both of them often sing the melody at the same time but just a tone apart to give the vocals that extra depth. Meanwhile Maurice always finds the perfect third harmony. It is hard to match voices from the same family especially when they are as fantastic as the Gibbs....make that impossible.

Yes, there is a wonderful live version you could react to, their 1974 Melbourne concert. They're backed by a full orchestra and the fans were going crazy throughout the entire concert. This, in my opinion, is one of their greatest concerts ever. The filming wasn't the best but their performance surely was. This was still before the disco era took over and Robin either had the lead or shared the lead with big brother Barry like on "Run to Me" here. Robin actually sang lead more than Barry did from the late 60's to the early to mid 70's. Please react to this version and other early Robin leads which I'd be more than happy to leave you suggestions later. I promise that you won't be disappointed with the live version.

So did you count their leads? I'm one of those, having no favourite out of bros. Gibb, so to me, they're (were) all great singers. Many times, in comments is to read, Robin's got more leads in albums from 1967 up to 1975. Having all their LP's and singles, so I'm what's called a "die hard fan", got me caunting (without the 'Cucumber Castle' album, so Robin left them at this point). The result is lil more leadvocals of Barry! Just proof it and you'll see. BTW, 'Run To Me' also holds in more leadvocals of Barry than Robin, who's singing his part together with Maurice, the magician which fullfills their three-part-harmony perfection!

@@francisxray9900 Mo may be singing with Robin in the chorus, but Robin is the one I hear. His voice is definitely coming through the strongest!

To me it has always seem like they had similar amounts of leads or maybe Barry bit more when I listen to their early song. I'm guessing they had pretty much the same amount with one of them maybe couple of more leads. I don't have any favourites really either, personally I can't even really compare Barry and Robin because their voices where so different which is very nice imo and I like them in different types of songs, in some Barrys voice fits better and others Robins but I really love it too when they both had a lead in a song, like in this one. But imo they boys were probably at their best when they sang harmonies together, which Maurice was a big part of too to make it sound perfect.

The topic of lead often comes up so decided to look into it, as I don’t believe that info is correct. 🎼 From the late 60’s to mid 70’s, Barry sang lead on twice as many songs as Robin did…..when they weren’t both sharing lead. So there we have it…..all us Bee Gee lovers🥰!!!

The great session man, Clem Cattini ("Telstar," etc.), on drums with those magical syncopated rolls at the end. A wonderful touch which really contributes to building the drama of the song. I've always loved that bit. Thank you, Clem! Also, the fabulous Bill Shepherd did all the Bee Gees' orchestration from their early days up to the early-mid-'70s, including "Run to Me," from 1972's "To Whom It May Concern" album. It has been said (and I concur) that NOBODY used orchestration to greater effect in pop songs than did the Bee Gees, and Bill Shepherd's contribution should not be overlooked.

NO; There is a fictional trailer posted on YT for both my Darling Andy & the Brothers which are both made up from an erroneous wannabe(producer?). The only filmed documentary already released was on December 3, 2020 in the UK by Universal Pictures Australia entitled: "The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart." The Bio Pic currently in discussion is still in the very early stages of development, & it's at least 2 years away from release. A script has yet to be written or any casting information formerly announced for the untitled Project. *Sir Kenneth Branagh will direct, it will be written by Ben Elton, & our own Barry will executive produce. We just hope & pray The good Lord will grant us & Barry the opportunity to see this into fruition; it would be another tragedy of loss if that did not happen.

It's okay to not like a song. I'm a BeeGees fan from way back (practically from their American debut), and even I don't like EVERY song they ever did. It's also okay if you just don't like the BeeGees style of singing. It ain't for everybody. For every person who loves the high pitched notes, there will be someone who hates it. It's fine to say that they aren't your cup of tea, and just leave it at that. 🙂
