- 💥RATT n' Roll baby! This song is so sick, Bobby Blotzer is seriously one of the most underrated drummers around.
There is I think 1 or 2 bass drum hits I did not hit in this one. So you can hear the track in behind when I don't play... Mainly because the patterns are pretty hard to memorize. HOWEVER! My bass drum is significantly more mixed compared to the original track, So hopefully you can tell them apart if you find it! But other than that... the ride section in the solo areas.... WILD. Just wild. It took a little while to get all that coordination together, so I hope you liked it!
What RATT do you want to see next!?
Hope you dig the mix! Get some good headphones or speakers!
And as always, THANK YOU so much for checking it out!

Bobby Blotzer is so underrated and here is why:
The power house washing machine beats at 1:47 and the craziest ride/snare patterns ever 2:36 🤘
Also, *_Thank you so much_* for watching and supporting the channel! If you're new here.. WELCOME!! Let me know what RATT song you wanna hear next!
-Martin 🤘🖤
OK. The funnest two on I.O.Y.P "Your In Love" and "Got Me On The Line". 👍 At 55, I enjoy BB's hi-hat and ride grooves. Doesn't get my wrist messed up too bad after a couple songs.🤣I play "open handed" so these ride/hi-hat tempos are nice & smooth for me.
under appreciated forsure, no one brings him up when talking drummers… mikkey dee is a machine… like actually THE best player out of the 80’s 90’s scene, theres no question, dude is a machine, listen to the Up From The Ashes album by Don Dokken… with that being said Blotzer comes second to him, notice how I didnt say tommy lee like everyone else 😂 Blotzer has this cleanliness to his playing but aggressive sound, almost sounds like hes mad at the drums by the way he hits them. btw you should try 7th Ave by Ratt.
Bobby blotzer he was so good was my main influence
everyone liked tommy lee back then i loved the blotz lol
I've always loved blotzer's drumming
He was so damn good, such style and power in his playing
Blotzer had some tasty grooves. You nailed that solo section perfectly
Excellent cover! Always loved the Blotz!
When I first started drumming in 1989, Ratt’s “Way Cool Jr.” had just come out and it was one of the first tunes I played along to and learned. Still love playing it!
Excellent job!
That’s SO cool!! No pun intended. That song had such a swagger to it. What a time that must have been to hear that being released
Such a great rockin groove on this one Martin! Ratt always had just a touch of boogie mixed into their hard rock tunes... that ride work is sick! Great job man!🤘🤘🔥🔥
Hey thank you so much Mike!! And totally! They had such a swagger to their writing haha
You nailed this as usual!!!!!!! Slip of the lip has always been my favorite Ratt song.
Hey Thank you so much!! RATT is way too good, Slip of the lip is another killer track!
Hell yeah! Boltzer way underated far as I'm concerned. You effin blew it up! 🤘💥🤘
Such a powerhouse drummer that made Ratt what it is! Thanks so much for the comment!! 🤘
Hold sheet!!! Why is it Ratt had their own vibe? Songs like this one - where I spaced on how bad ass it really is - they have an attitude to 'em and their stuff stands out a bit. Your playing on this is stupid on point. The ride, snare action through the solo - 🔥🔥🔥🔥
LOVE it Martin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s such a good description, bad ass and a good helping of attitude behind the riffs
Thanks so much for checking it out Trey! Hope you’re doing well, enjoy the long weekend 🤘
54 takes I’m not sure how many songs I’ve listened to 54 times.
That’s how You perfect the pocket. 🤘🏼💯
Awesome work MB
😲😲😲😲😲😲 54 takes? Martin, you are a damn monster. That in and of itself is incredible. I saw Kyle's comment and really did go "WHAT????" so I went back to the outtake and read.
@@TreyBDrums 🤘🏼😁🤘🏼 My guy Trey
@@kyledrums702 haha thank you Kyle! I’m glad it wasn’t like some of the others that pushed the high 90s/100s 😂😭
@@TreyBDrums yeaaaaaah, I have a problem 😂🤣
You always do 80s rocker bands so well! Solid drumming performance and amazing sound quality in my headphones! 🎧
Thank you Rich!! So glad you listened with good headphones! Theres a lot under the hood on this one LOL (Compressors, reverbs, limiters, etc etc) No samples though because that's too much and I don't know how to work with any of those haha
Hope you have a great weekend!
Another top notch production on your channel, buddy! All these little details and syncopes in here are just insane, so much to memorize! And yeah, that guitar solo part is truly something else, killer job!!! Enjoy your weekend, my friend! 😃👍🥁🔥🔥🔥
Vader! Thanks my friend! And yeah the amount of complexity that they had in their tracks was something else!
Excellent job my friend 👍🎼🥁🎼👍🤟🤟🤟!!!!
Thanks Max! I appreciate the comment!
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums You're welcome my friend 👍🎼🤟🥁🤟🎼👍
The fill at 2:50 has always been amazing to me. Over the years, I have come to approximate it, but my feel is different. The cover here is spot on. It's such an interesting 'take your head off' kind of fill. Bobby's parts for some of these songs were at such a high caliber. Great drummer...
Oh man, yeah that was such a challenging section! And that was my best guess at what Bobby was doing.
I fully agree, Bobby was at a completely other level compared to tother drummers at the time. SUUUPER unique and just doing things that not a lot of other guys were doing.
Thanks for checking out the video!!!
Martin this sounds so freakin good and awesomely played too!! I really liked the 16th note pattern on the hats!! I agree with ya the ride part was wicked!!🤘🤘
Zax!! Thank you so much man, that hihat part just fits SO well in the song!
Great job man! Sounds awesome! you absolutely crushed it! Nice ride bell pattern! 🤘🤘🤘
Hey thanks Tobi! Yeah that’s a tricky one with the snare added in! Hope you have a killer weekend 🤘
Sounds great my man! Ratt kicks ass 🤘🥁
I fully agree, Ratt is the best! Thanks for checking it out Adam!
RATT N ROLL! Martin always love when you cover RATT! Your kit sounds fantastic! Love the stick throw and catch! 🤘💪🔥
Thank you so much Joey! It’s nerve wracking with these ahead stick lol, if it’s not a full rotation, that aluminum handle is slamming into the cymbals 😂😭
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums I can Imagine! They are heavy for sure. The Tommy sticks are really long as well!
Bobbie Blotzer is possibly the most underrated drummer going.. without his fills and groove RATT wouldn’t be RATT. They are IMO the best 80’s band.
The quality of the mix and recording of this is top notch, and played perfectly 🔥🤘🏻🥁
Heyy thank you so much Ben! I appreciate the comment and the share!!
Man I haven't heard this in years. Nice stick play. Thanks for bringing back a classic. Well done bud.
Hell yeah!! It’s SUCH a great song! So glad you enjoyed it Shane!
Hell yes!! dude, that snare fill at 2:49 was insane. You need to do some justice on Round and Round!
It was a spicy one for sure!
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums That was awesome
Perfection buddy!! Epic work 🤜🤛
Hey thank you so much Ash!!
Phenomenal drum work 🙏💯🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Excellent. More Ratt please.
Great cover! you nailed this one.
Hey thank you so much!! 🤘
Man, I love your sound! Playing is amazing as always - you smashed it out of the park 🤟🔥
Hey Thank you so much my friend!! I really appreciate the comment!
"Out Of The Cellar" & "Invasion Of Your Privacy" were among my very first cassettes! Could've been because of the babes on the covers! 🤣
LMAO They were up to something with the marketing :P
So awesome dude! 🤘🏼🥁
Hey thank you so much Kyle!!🤘
Bad Ass! Keep it up 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🐀 AWESOME video Martin! 🐁
Thank you Charlene! Lol the cheese
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums I cut the cheese 😂🤣😂🤣😂

As always excellent cover perfect drumming brother !!!
Bob! Thank you so much man! I really appreciate it!
Heyooo! You're here early! In the meantime check out RATT - Lay it Down ➡ ruclips.net/video/oRKQc68Ri0U/видео.html 🤘
You nailed this 🤘
Yo Thank you so much!! Ratt is too good!
Very nice cover. One of my favorite albums of all time... actually wore out the tape 3 times.
I'd like to see an Invasion song next (vote for Give it All), then maybe Slip of the Lip from Dancin', then Hard Time or Top Secret from Detonator.
Suuuuch a good album!
I’ll add some into my next recording session. I’m doing wanted man for sure, but I’ll do a few from that album too 🤘
Man, the drums sound green, I was just listening to some Ratt in the car the other day. Great cover man, I had forgotten all the licks in this song, love what you did under the lead break
Hey Thanks Steve! and seriously Early Ratt is so wild. The off time fills, cymbal work, unique beats.. Blotzer was so good!
And I THINK from listening that's what is happening on the album. I could be wrong though :P
Thanks again for watching!
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums its always an interpretation, which is cool and Blotz is the man 🤘
@@SteveTheDrummer it would be so good to see a reunion. But we shall see if that ever happens
Great drumming! Good song choice! 🤘
Hey thank you so much and thank you for checking it out!!
Would like to hear you play the Morning After. That would be great.
@@RichardCole1002 yesss great song!! I’ll add it to the list🤘🤘
Great job !
Hey thank you so much!!
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums that ride cymbal you use the cone shaped upside down one what do you call it and who makes it I need one ??
@@rrf6747 haha the ride is a 22” AAX Metal ride, I absolutely LOVE it for rock and metal.
The bell in the middle is a 12” ice bell. I’m not sure if that’s the coke one you are referring to. But let me know :) 🤘
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums yeah I think that's it... it really fills in and seems necessary for some rock and metal I've only been drumming for about 2yrs at this point. Your videos are invaluable. I'm still learning as I go and still building my kit. Thanks for the help.
You just keep getting better sir.
Thanks so much 🤘🤘 really appreciate the comment!
Sounds great brother!
Heyy thank you so much for the comment my friend!! 🤘
🐁🥁
Thank you!!
The blotz was way underrated
10000%
Can we get Shame Shame Shame
Bobby had skills, but song writing and contributing to the catalog were not a priority to him.
The band actually had to carve out writing credits to him so he would stay happy.
Woah really?? I had no idea!
Bummer because he had some solid grooves and fills
@@MartinBellamyMBDrums Only until after the first two albums worth of royalty checks started coming in through publishing copyrights Blotzer noticed the disparaging pay scale. Bobby's first publishing credit was on their 3rd album not strong song "Drive Me Crazy" and that probably was donated by Crosby who performed the guitar track, and Robbin was the most diplomatic of the group.
@@ericscottstevens Thank you, that was very informative.
