So, a little context: They show it and explain it more in the manga (Chapter 124): First off, the real Mahito acted as Blind spot so that Kugisaki wouldn't notice the switch, and due to her battle against the Double, she let her guard down against Mahito's hands. Also, she wasn't standing still down the hallway in the manga, she just slid down into the Hall after running full speed, so she didn't have time to react. Lastly, she even put up her hands to her face to try and block it with her arms. Anime made it seem like she had all the time in the world to dodge - She didn't.
i disagree with her being underutilized(unintentionally) she was utilized perfectly especially for her death. one of the main themes introduced by episode 2 was sorcerers always die early. they always die with regrets and they always die without reaching their full potential and nobara is imo a perfect example and delivery of that theme
The anime did nobara so dirty, in the manga its clear that Mahito was already in her face by the time she turned the corner, she didn’t see the mahito’s switch and didn’t have time to react to get away
So, not so fun fact time. Gege actually drew a color page of Mahito smiling and happy over dolls of Junpei, Nanami and Nobara right after the chapter with Nobara came out(or around then). The amount of chill that this series and its creator don't have is wild. But it also goes to show how smart Mahito is. Even with his back against the wall, even with the handicap of not being able to use any of his stronger techniques on Yuji due to Sukuna, he's constantly thinking. He's constantly learning. And he's constantly adapting. He managed to turn his disadvantage into a victory. He destroyed Nobara in front of Yuji, just like he said he would. What a fantastic villain. Absolutely diabolical.
also, it wasn’t stated in the episode but in the manga the narrator says that the switcheroo of mahito created a blindspot for nobara, so she couldn’t see the other mahito running to yuuji, hence why she didn’t bother to move or run
Remember in Season 1 finale she was having the discussion with Yuji after killing the curse womb brothers and she talked about “only having so many chairs” for the people that matter in her life. Yuji managed to bring his own chair into the circle 😢
Sukuna made sure that Megumi was ok by using reverse curse technique on him. If anyone could heal Megumi in that situation it was Sukuna. The principal found him right after too so Nobara is in a worse position than Megumi right now.
God Mahito is such a good villain. He’s really well written and has a cool set of powers. And my god I hate him so much but for the right reasons. Gege sure knows how to write a villain
@@bobbylight6739 Sure after all jjk is just battle shounen after all. Its just pop corn movie type so it can work. But well written villains can carry the entire story and tone.
@@jakeoriental8847 Frieza’s writing is almost mid and he’s one of the best villains in anime. He quite literally carried dragon ball at one point. Mahito is literally carrying the story right now 😂 what are you on. When sukuna comes out he steals the show no matter what he does and so will kenjaku
@@bobbylight6739 Mahito is best villain in jjk because of he is like joker to yuji right now. But there needs more depth to his character aside from messing with yuji to make him "well written". Sukuna stole the show because he looks "cool". Not because he is well done villain. Dude is so one dimensional.
4:45 I'm not a manga reader so I'm talking out of my ass but a lot of reactors ask about "BlackFlash" and as the guy on the right said hes not in the zone. black flash i feel like it meant for a more slow paced fight like Hanami or maybe Choso but i think Mahito fights super fast and sporadic that it doesn't give Yuji time to think and focus because hes constantly on edge about random mouth knives and shit that Mahito will pull out at anytime.
At this point Mahito is turning into the King Joffrey of JJK. I hate him so much! But that kinda makes him a good villain. But I need him to die, like now. I completely agree that Nobara was very underused in this show. For me it felt like she had several plots planned for her character but then the mangaka just went "let's kill her. It will be impactful, Will do like a flashback or something to fill in some gaps."
If you think the Shibuya incident is bad, wait until you get to the Shibuya incident report. "And what time would you say Nobara was touched by Mahito? Was she wearing appropriate ppe for the task? Were 'hands' listed as a hazard on her hazard assessment, or discussed at the morning meeting?"
Question for manga people? Is the shot of Yuji beating on Mahito as he's monologueing about being glad hes not alone and Nobara being there a panel? I really liked that shot, Yuji always looks so focused when fighting, makes him a very enjoyable protagonist.
I’m getting sick of Mahito’s laugh, they are having too much fun with ruining Yuji’s life. I think it’s an interesting conversation about characters being “underutilized” before they go, even though I don’t necessarily agree with your argument here. There has been lots of debate over the years with these shonen series on if killing characters often or at all is a good or bad thing. Personally, I think there is room for both styles of plot. Every shonen being a carbon copy of one of the big three shonen series would be boring imo.

Rare fumble on the anime's part
@@mihaimorar2043 fr. I hope in todays episode they recap it and use the narrator to explain what happened.
I like how Nobara's chair metaphor came back from the end of last season a really neat visual.

Very lazy writing indeed
Black flash is not something you can do willingly or voluntarely, it's the same as being in the zone you can't just be in it whenever you want

well, sam. i hope u saying „when will something happen in this arc“ and stuff is now visible for u 😂😂 it was all build up for this chaos.

Ive been in love with this season❤️

What I love most about Mahito as a villain is that his power gives you moments like this where a single touch tells watchers "its over"

If she is dead (seems like it) a really good sendoff for Nobara.
Sukuna made sure that Megumi was ok by using reverse curse technique on him. If anyone could heal Megumi in that situation it was Sukuna. The principal found him right after too so Nobara is in a worse position than Megumi right now.
I'd dare say Sukuna's RCT is even stronger than Shoko's
