How to Make My First Farmhouse Sign with a Cricut Stencil

- This week we took it back to the basics with My First Farmhouse Sign using a Cricut. This project is easy enough that even the newest crafter will look like a Pro! In this week's video, we'll show you how to create a vinyl stencil using any Cricut including the Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker. We walk you through Cricut Design Space and show you how to create your own design using the text feature as well as how to import a graphic file suce as an .SVG into your design. We also walk through how to cut your project, how to prepare your stencil and how to apply it to your farmhouse sign! Come have some fun and watch us #DoItBuildItMakeIt!

Cricut stencil is THE worst! I use permanent vinyl. Mostly Cricut brand since their vinyl is sub-par!

Tip: Modpodge is good, but I prefer to seal the stencil with the same paint used for base coat

I received my order, 1236790005 but the truck set was totally missing. I’ve tried contacting you every way I knew, but have not received any communication back, so I figured I’d try here. Was it shipped separately? I only had the one tracking number so I figured they were together. Please let me know. The home sweet home set arrived Dec 24, so I was able to get it painted for a Xmas gift. I only used the month pieces to add to a different sign I had made. Any chance in the future you would sell just those pieces? They are super cute! I hope to hear back from you soon!

A little trick I learned regarding letter spacing is to manually put it at. -.5 ( negative point five). Almost always it groups all letters together nicely.

I am using the cricut matte vinyl and when I spray paint my sign it curls up and the paint bleeds. Please can you guide me? What i am doing wrong? Thanks

HAPPY 2021 Kim and Garrett!!!! I really enjoyed this tutorial; I love the blue this is the color I have as a accent wall in my dining room. I always receive compliments when a stranger etc see the combination with the grey it's a great neutral color no matter your style.... I will be making the blue sign.... I'm obsessed with the colors you've used. Also I thought about this as an outside sign under a covered porch ribbon and flowers... thanks for starting the year with another great project!!!
