    I'm always amazed at how great this guy's depth perception is, carving it right by those trees and the house all the time. Nice flying Brian, nice film work Camera Crew Megan!

    Its true, differential thrust is awesome. The LEDs are awesome on this. I'm told that Eflite intends to make LEDs a priority on all new molds, its just the old molds that they re-release that they are skimping on. Its so cool that this is a 1S twin. If you buy non-smart batteries they are like 5 for $20.

    Love my umx twotter but the only thing I didn't like was the rudder feel when trying to do coordinated flat turns and flying scale. Another channel suggested 75% expo on the rudder and I can confirm it makes the plane even better. Now it flys like the rudder in any other umx until you really give it the sticks.

    I love this little plane. Getting back into the hobby, im 38 and haven't flown since i was a kid and had the cox "flyboy" with on/off throttle and 2 buttons on the transmitter that controlled the rudder🤣. Kids today have it made. I also got the carbon cub s2, and that thing is nerve wracking, possibly caused by the fact that i can't get the flight modes to work on my nx8. The flap mod was easy enough but should have came standard. But this little UMX, is very forgiving. I have probably 20 flights on it, no crashes, even flew it in 20 mph wind blowing so hard i flew into the wind and had to grab it out of the air while it held position at low throttle. Lol i couldn't get it to come down🤣 Love your channel man, you're living the dream!

    I hope I hope I HOPE Horizon Hobby will update the larger Twin Otter and give it Smart Technology, differential thrust, and reverse thrust. I presently use my 1.2m Twotter as my go-to float plane. Give me those upgrades and I will be in heaven!

    Hi, andy in uk. Just to say how much I enjoy your channel. I personally find the long videos very informative, and have often watched them all the way through when thinking about buying a plane. Along with other video channels on here, yours is not just helpfull and entertaining it is free. I love this hobby and as an old retired guy it gives me a real purpose for my free time. Reason I am posting this, is that I have noticed some really snide unpleasant omments about your channel on the rc saylors feed. I have no idea what is behind this and have sent a couple of light hearted comments back. Just wanted to say that I really don't like this sort of thing on what is a normally a good natured and fun community. Hope this isn't adding fuel to the flames. Thanks for all your effort.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +3

      Thanks so much for the kind words! "Long-format" is kind of a "bad word" right now, so we're excited to hear you're one of our loyal fans who enjoy the whole video. As you already probably know, we do work very hard to put this content together, and most don't understand the effort it takes. It's way more than what you see on the video, and not just "editing" (everyone thinks of that) which is really not a large part of our efforts. What most guys don't see is largely building and maintaining relationships with affiliates, the business end of the channel, running the web site, keeping up (or not) with comments, deciding HOW and WHEN to review stuff, planning to plan (LOL - we do have to make a lot of logistical planning) eating dinner with the family at 10PM-1AM (yes, this is not unusual...FYI, our kids are home schooled, by Megan, so they can and do sleep in, fy)...and along with that comes sleepless nights of worry about when huge companies leave you hanging over what more ordinary circumstances might call a "simple misunderstanding". This has happened more than once. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that while we're both very proud and happy about the progress and success we've found on our channel, we are quite literally hanging it all out there on this limb, and while I do LOVE it, my wife is right there on the limb with me - LOL/cry - and with the amount we've invested to make this all happen, that does admittedly coincide with some of our life goals, but still, it's got us in a position to basically need what we're doing, at least for a while. My goal, of course, is to do this as my "full time gig", and really dig in, but we're still a few years off. Unlike the Saylors, who took the plunge earlier in life (to quit their day-jobs), they did it BEFORE their kids, we started when we were in a family home with 2 kids already here, and one on the way, and since then we've rounded it out with an even 4 kids, added a 23 acre property, very expensive runway, burring power lines and numerous other crazy projects, basically self funding an RC Paradise here in support of MY dream, which is again, is NOT my wife's dream...but she's with me the whole way. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful, loving, supportive, amazing, capable, strong, wife in Megan and she's a pretty good "camera crew" too boot!!! ;)
      The RC Saylors channel has some very persistently rude, almost insane followers, along with many of our same great people following along. We're very quick to shut down negative stuff when we spot it here on our channel, but it's been hard to keep up when some very motivated TROLLS comes along. I think what's happened, is that while Nate and Abby are very nice people, they probably don't mind when others try to take down us, because we are one of their "competitors". We do sometimes have somewhat of a light harted "competition" (Nate and I) but I bet we'd be good friends if we were ever to meet. We are all after similar ends, but we also all LOVE this hobby. Also, they've been gracious to us in the past too, as we to them. We don't run our channels the same way, but we reach our own respective niches. They go for more an "entertainment" video (10-15 minutes video) which captures a bit more add revenue and maybe a few less "enthusiasts", and we go for more the tutorial video, but we both aim, at least in part, to sell stuff to fund our channels, and families. They are busting butt, and doing a great job, but we are too. We both have haters, and they have a larger more diverse audience, so they probably have a harder time keeping up with negative stuff. Nate already gets a bad wrap for being very "sensitive" but he and I are actually a lot alike - we are trying to protect what we've scrapped and clawed to earn here, and I don't blame him...but we are markedly less "prudish" at the same time, and I think we can maybe take a joke a bit better...but there are some very cutting, mean spirited people out there, and some that would just assume HURT us, out of near-insane levels of hatred. You might be surprised to hear some of the specifics we've dealt with, and I know for a fact, they've had MAJOR issues with a one or more of their cult like followers. This is "par for the course", to one extent or another with any significant following.
      We wish the Saylors nothing but the best, especially with their new baby. They're a very nice family, and working hard, just like us...but our channels are just a slightly different flavor. The internet loves to hate, and division is cheap...so if they want to help clean that up, it's contingent on them to do so. I would love if some of you would stick up for us. We had an incident last week where we had a guy, and a couple bot accounts attacking our channel, and it's like for absolutely NO reason! Megan and I pretty much wasted half a day twice, or one full day, which needed to be spent on video production. Only saw one guy chime in, and he was a "regular", but what happens, is these negative nancies, that are literally insane, a small minority of them at least, will make fake accounts an "thumb up their own comments" and this sort of thing. It's crazy! Most wouldn't believe it. They also come and attack our videos with Thumbs Down and try to stir up trouble. They pretend to be Robbin Hood" but their more like the "Joker" - LOL
      Anyway, being as you're retired, I figured I'd write you a short book today ;) Hope you enjoyed it, and yes, I spend a great deal of time interacting with people like you, and love it.
      Thanks again for the nice note. We're very pleased to have you in our audience, and appreciate you!

      @@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks for that very detailed insight. Takes a lot of guts to turn your back on secure employment and follow a dream. I enjoyed my job as an engineer, but although the option to go self employed was always there, I could never quite bring myself to break the security link of a monthly pay cheque. I wish you all the best in your endeavour. If you can make a good income doing something you love and providing a great service to others then that is a real achievement. Happy flying. Andy in uk.

      Maybe. It's not a bad plane for a beginner, but it's more CRAZY than some beginner offerings....so you'll need to keep your sticks in check ;) Meaning...you can't be 100% throttle and pulling the sticks edge to edge, like many beginners tend to do...this plane will just KEEP FLYING! ;)

      SS - 6S 3200mAh -4000mAh MAX
