Love the build I have a 78 FJ 40 my dad and I bought in 89 and yes I have stories 🙂I live in your area look forward to maybe seeing you out on the trail some time
@@Gosimur Ah, yeah. I also have a house in Maltby (where my daughter lives) near Echo Falls Golf Course so I to back and forth between here and there via Paradise Lake Road quite a bit.
@sarpinz, I'd love to know more about the dash, like where you got the switch panel and the leather. I love the way that it looks and want to do something similar!
I really like the tires … 33x10.5 R15? Stock rims? Which are 5.5” wide. So noob question … issues on mounting? Google search says 215mm max for that width rim, which is about 8”. Concerns on bead fail?
Hi Ben, GREAT looking rig! The data plate under the hood that you said had been redone to accurately show engine size, the correct color code and the brown interior code so that the data plate is accurate to the build..... where did you get that? Thank you.
I'm planning to retire in next 4-5yrs and working to right size the fleet to a manageable level with those things I really want to have time to play with and also willing to put the work into maintenance and recurring costs.. I haven't kept track of all the expenses during the build, but adding up the big ticket items, it exceeds what it's listed for.. 😊
It's the RedArc Tow Pro - very stealthy and works great. www.redarcelectronics.com/us/electric-brake-controller/tow-pro?msclkid=b2726c4db53811e213500847c11d1e74
This has to be one of the most beautiful and perfect FJ builds. No unnecessary bs...
Thank you 😊
I am so damn jealous of this build.
Thanks Dan, it's been a really fun build and it came together so nicely. The Cummins R2.8 and Toyota H55F is such a great pairing in the FJ40.
I have a FJ of the same year. Mine has a small block. Yours is exceptional!
She is purring like a kitten. Beautiful
what a classy FJ ! Absolutely outstanding . enjoy her !
Very nice set up that cummin diesel engine fit into that FJ engine bay 😍
With room to spare!
2nd low is nice on ranch roads checking cattle. Don’t need 4wd, but slow helps.
Fantastic build! I love all the attention to detail.
Thank you.
hats off to you on this build
Thank you. It was so much fun to do, and it turned out even better than I thought it would.

Good swap 160 hp yahoo cheers Neil
It's such a good drivetrain in the FJ40, this is my 3rd 40 and the driving experience is night and day.
holy cow this is beautiful, all I can think of is how much it must cost to do a build like this. I would think 50K at the very minimum ?

I don't recall. I found him through IH8Mud several years ago.. they turned out great, looks totally stock.
Love your build. Why the heck is it for sale? How much do you think you have in it?
Great work

Does that engine have epa compliant components from Cummins?
what kind of trailer brake controller is that?

@@SARpinz Thanks. Its way better than the ugly bulky ones.
@@SeanLinde75 Agree, and it works really well!
What adapter did you use, I’m trying to find one for H42 trans. I’m 4bt swapping as well
Advance adapters Cummins -> Chevy -> Toyota.. but I believe they make a direct Cummins -> Toyota adapter now.
I wish to have one unit. How much the price
It sold for $75K
What transmission did you use?
Toyota H55F 5spd 😊
