Definitely a thorough and helpful review video!👍 Always thank you for pointing out the pros and cons of our products clearly. That will be really meaningful for us to improve and upgrade our devices~
Thank you Eve ❤️
@@ObscureMics My absolute pleasure!! :)
For a 50 buck mic this is really good! This would work great for a lot people getting into pod casting on a budget and doing google & zoom meetings. Just use a velcro strap to hold the cables to an arm so that don't move.
Velcro strap... Yes... Nice call there. And heck yeah.... Perfect starter mic
Just put in my order for this. Thanks for the review!
Super solid for the money. Thanks for watching!
i just got this mic in the mail literally an hour before this video went up and i love it
That's fantastic timing. Heck yeah.. It's legit for the price. I honest to God love how I sound on it
Cool little mic at a decent price. Very cool. Happy New Year man
Happy new years to you! Thanks for all the views!
i just got this mic with the finfine mixer and the fifine boom arm for $115. You cannot beat that. This is amazing!
Amazing what they are doing for the budget game
Thanks mate for the review, glad I found you because so many salesman out there finally a thorough real review! Ordered one for the wife on Amazon
What XLR interface did you use with the AM8 ? It does sound real good
I wanna say it was the tascam 1x2HR
Appreciate you watching !
thanks @@ObscureMics , helps a lot ! i subbed for support. Keep it up mate !
Fifine has made some good USB mics. Looks like they are upping the game with budget XLR
Them and Maono both
It's hard to overstate just how much you get for not a whole lot of money with Ffine stuff. I'm super impressed with that company.
Absolutely. Them and Maono are neck and neck IMO
After adding some washers to each side, it actually won't move up and down and can hold xlr cables. such a solid product!
Nice! I'll do that!
This is the one Nate wants! He’s currently using the k688, but likes the rgb on the AM8. Sounds pretty good and surprisingly clear!
I actually like this more than the k688! They are both noisy to the touch... But this one's awesome orherwise
@@ObscureMics Really? I came here just to ask that. So you would choose this over the K688?
I would yep
@@ObscureMics Thanks. From the videos it sounds clean. I have a Yeti but I'm trying to find something that picks up less background.
I ordered it.
Great choice. The yeti is fine in a highly treated space.... But the fifine is way safer
You can probably shim the mount to tighten things up. It sounds pretty good, which is what it's all about anyway. Having the dual outputs is a feature that means a lot to me for anything beyond the cheapest USB mics. I can't see spending much on something that's USB only. Fifine has really been coming on strong lately.
I think the washers are intentionally slidey...if that makes sense. The easy movement is intentional. So maybe some washer replacements do the trick
Bark's voice sounds quite good on this thing! Solid deal. If you stutter, Fifine is fine. If you don't, it's still completely Fifine.
Hahahahaha
I could see it this were $100-130 given the capabilities with some of the quirks that would be harder to dismiss, but having XLR/USB at $60 or less in a broadcast style body that sounds decent at that price, let alone with RGB, it does really stand out. Not a perfect budget mic but what really is. Really hoping Fifine has a sole XLR output mic in 2023 to see what they can do when they're not trying to do a plug and play option.
I'd like to see that as well... They keep getting better. Happy new year Jose! Appreciate you
Great review as always brother! Would you say that this one is better than the k688?
Happy new year🎉
Happy new year! Ya know what.... I think I would! The k688 cheap metal us just as noisy... And I like the sound and look of this am8 better
I might buy this. Wonder if that stand would tighten better with rubber washers or something.
I'd say that's a good possibility
This mic looks like the blue sona mic but a little bit more goofy with the knobs but this mic looks more professional good job fifine
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. It sounds fantastic for 50
Can you compare this to the Fifine B688? Another of their USB/XLR mics. It looks like a Shure SM7b
ruclips.net/video/8HKDz0VVUWE/видео.html. Did a video on it... But no longer have it.... Will say... I prefer the am8
Functionality-wise this microphone is a real gem. And I really like the sound, IMO it's the best sounding dynamic Fifine at the moment. But how does it compare to AT ATR2100X/Maono HD300? Can't deside which sound I like more and all of them are around $65-70.
In this price range my favorite USB/XLR combo mic was AT2005 or the original ATR2100, but sadly it's discontinued here and it's successor ATR2100X has different capsule, which I like less.
I myself think the audio technica are TOO bright. So for me it's the fifine
@@ObscureMics oh I'm a big fan of bright sound. One of my favorite condenser mics for spoken word - AKG C3000B. Anyway I'll go for the AM8, it's functionality is killer
See... I dont find the 3000b that bright. I think that's a great well rounded sound
Please tell me which microphone is best for me to choose up to $100? Input data: the current microphone is a t669 with a pantograph, the sound insulation of the room is 5/10, there are no sound panels (but there is a desire to purchase), an audio card is only built into the computer. Goals: voice-over of videos, recording videos on RUclips or tick tok. Most likely in the future I will buy a sound card. Now I am most inclined to a dynamic microphone, but I am also considering condenser ones. Now the choice has fallen on 2 models from fifine: AM8 and K688. Which of these microphones should I choose, or are there better solutions?
I personally prefer the am8
FDLUCE SL140, Donner P08, or this? Or any other dynamic xlr mics you would recommend under $100?
Po8 all day
Thank you! Tell me, will Fifine Ampligame AM8 be better than Fifine K 658? If you use a microphone via USB, which one do you prefer in terms of sound? Which microphone is better K658, AM8 or K688? I bought K 658, should I change it to AM8? AM8 is better?
I prefer am8
I have a Fifine K669 thats broken, the sound is busted. I wanna fix it it and replace the mic capsule, but im not sure how to do it.
Honestly. A mic that cheap... I'd just get another one.... But... I'd be game to mod it for you
Great video btw you made me buy this microphone because I kinda like the the square shape of it, the mic sounds so good plus it's only $50 which is a major plus for me. But I do want to know can you attach a shock mount to it since it comes with a base stand and you can attach it to a boom arm but what about a shock mount, do you have any suggestion which shock mount I can use Thank you!
This is the best way IMO to put something like this on a shockmount
amzn.to/3vYDrkx
And thank you!
Thank you so much and Keep up the good work
@@blanko6799 Thank YOU
Which mic would you choose ? This one or Tonor 510? They are about the same price.
The Fifine all day
Nice review man! but this ain't $50 (wish it was) They sell here around $80. Just got mine 2 days ago, hope it's all worth it. :)
I think it's well worth 80 even! Thanks for watching
2 weeks ago i've watched your k688 and i don't know why i buy this one instead yesterday, now you post am8 video, and i think i'm not wrong buy am8.
I'd want the am8 over the k688. I think it sounds better..... It's cheaper.... And I kinda even love the look
@@ObscureMics yeah, same, plus better windscreen
Even though they are the same material.... Yeah... The square one works better somehow
Hi i recieved my fifine am8 right now and i have a question about how i use this if i plug this mic in Audio Mixer with XLR connection?? i mean how will this work without power???
It's a dynamic
The dynamic mic can work without power.
You should review the PDMIUSB75
You have experience with one?
would you say this is better than the Fifine k688? or the other way around?
I prefer this over the k688
Seems like it's a solid purchase
Definitely. Versatile and solid for the money
So mic sounds great but for my show I’m trying to run 4 of the AM8’s though USB off of OBS studio but can’t get them all to record on there own track. They only work recording on 1 single track. Is there a way to correct this ?
Not that I know of.... Which is part of the usb mic conundrum.
@@ObscureMics that sucks cause I didn’t have the problem before running condenser mics. Only started when I switched to dynamic. I record in my garage so dynamic gives better sound quality.
Really? What mics did you use before? Dynamic and condenser usb mics have no internal difference that would make one work multitrack over another. I am very confused.... Unless you were using rode mics with unify software
@@ObscureMics I used a Fifine AM8, Fifine A8, and a hyperx Quadcast so 2 of the 3 mics running where condenser.
Initial though: I want this just for my collection.
after watching the whole vid: I want this for an on the go mic.
Nooooo doubt. I'm always looking for that "keep in the car" mic.... And this could be the one.... For a while lol
Hello! Fifine am8 or Donner PO8? Thanks and regards from Spain!
Thank YOU. I love the Donner... So I gotta go with it
The one thing that allows me to enjoy the reviews even more is your feedback too! Do any mics below £80 (we'll go with below $80) have a 9 to 10 rating? And what's the highest a
Fifine k669D comes to mind on both below 80 and 60
I mean for 50 bucks.... you can't complain, sounds really good for the price.
Definitely. Thanks for watching
Great review. Which is better, the am8 or k688? Thanks!
I prefer the am8
Depends on your usage. The RGB AmpliGame AM8 has more efficient noise reduction for the deeper lows, which makes it quite useful for gaming in a noisy environment. The K688 has a decent appearance and the more balanced bass and mids give it a more neutral tone for voice-over, podcasting, or even vocal recording.
Great vid! How would you rate it compared to the Fifine a8? I'm in between these two.
I'd go with this ALL DAY over the A8. Not sure what your use case is....but this is just simply a better mic
@@ObscureMics Thank you for the quick response. My room is pretty loud due to my cockatiels and family members in the other rooms. So I think the am8 would be better suited in this case.
DEFINITELY
Which one is better Fifine Am8 or the Maono PD200x?
the pd200x from what I have seen and heard..... but I have not used it myself
Hi
Fifine a8 - am8 - hyperx solocast -
I need it for making Educational videos
+Gaming with my friends
I'm really high on this am8 right now.... Gonna say that at this time
My main concern is how good is thw EM shielding compared to maono or shure sm7b?
I had no issues.... But with a plastic body... That's always a concern for sure
@@ObscureMics thank you for your reply!
@ElSarcastro always!
I like it, it's like a Blue Yeti, but in a Lego / Roblox package.
Sounds much better too.
Nailed that one lol
Which boom. Arm best for this mike
Honestly any will work... As it's not a heavy mic
does anyone know if theres any univeral shock mounts
I just grabbed this... Great price... Great quality
amzn.to/41OQSCc
Interesting… sorta like the blue sona hybrid 😎. But sounds ok , less the tapping
Ahhhh yes.... That other square mic
in terms of quality of sound is this better than maono pd100u?
I think it's on par personally
I just ordered one myself Great Review 👍 it handles plosives really nice 50 bucks....maybe not the Best Tank of a Mic build but who Cares 😂😂 😂😂😂
Yeah they can't all be tanks lol. Thanks for watching!
👋 hey, my am8 has to much hiss my setting was 85% on windows and 70% on mic dial usb connection, can you tell me your setting on the video?
I'll have to hook back up and get back with you. Don't let me forget! Lol
@@ObscureMics 👍 okay
@@ObscureMics I think you forgot lol
I did lol. But now I'll add an alarm
@@ObscureMics i forgot to check your reply too, so what the setting
I can work with square! 😂
I looked and couldn't find a rule against square mics.
There definitely is NO RULES
What mic stand are you using
amzn.to/40vsHs7
très bon son pour un micro pas chères .
Thank you
how do i get rid of the static sound
Send it back probably. It shouldn't have a static sound
@@ObscureMics okk thank you
The "girl next door mic", ey Bark? Only you man, haha.
Do the tightening knobs come off by chance? I ask because sometimes there are screws you can tighten.
I think they come off.... I think there's a slick plastic washer on each knob... As if it's supposed to be adjusted easily.
Sound-wise... this or the Maono PD100 XLR?
This. The functionality is also a huge bonus
@@ObscureMics Interesting. It's a bit more than $50 dollars where I'm from (more like $80), while the Maono is aright around $50.
What about the pd400x?
@@ObscureMics Waaay more expensive, like $150-ish. At that point, get an SM57 or SM58, right? ;) I think I can even get an SE V7 under that price.
@@ObscureMics Waaaaaay more expensive, like $160-ish. At that point, I can get a Shure SM57 or 58.
Between this and the new one k688?😊
This
Yes you were right 🤪
Its 80 usd now. :( Im not fan of rgb. I had k688, but mine was bad - super quiet and mute button didnt worked properly.
Well that's a bummer
@@ObscureMics Fuck! This Am8 is also superquiet. WTF?!
Yes indeed
Oh super quiet in a bad way??
@@ObscureMics Yes. Gain at 100% everywhere, I am close to mic and it's still too quiet.
Why is mine so muffled
Hmmmm good question. It shouldn’t be
This mic would look better without the volume knobs
100% agree. Mayne if they do a next version, they can make them some barely visible sliders.
Off axis is kind of meh for a dynamic.
Oh cmon Ellis!
What does "off axis" normally sound like to you on a dynamic and what's wrong with this?
@@skorpers I was expecting a bit more rejection / more dropoff.
@@ellisgl All about the polar pattern. We can't violate the laws of physics.
I'm of course messing with you. It was not great off Axis... But it was fifine to me
You’re at 5k now bro? Good stuff man
You definitely deserve it man 🫡
Thank you! It's been going well thanks to you folks
