I am so glad that I had a chance to listen to people who are living in the exact same situation as me. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and I hope many Korean-American people like you and me stand up as representatives of our country and feel proud of our cultures.

    hello!
im hispanic american and can relate how you grew up going to a diverse but mostly white culture elementary school and found myself wanting to be whitewashed even kinda up to today. I did see that “don’t wanna be a fob-like” phase in middle school too lol that’s so crazy. and now i love the asian culture and even took upon learning the hangeul and the language as well. im in nursing and the field is diverse as well, so my spanish does come thru and it helps everyone out 😅 (i wanted to stop speaking in spanish at home when i was a kid lol) i’ve enjoyed ur video and hope to see more coming 🥲

love that you shared this!!! :’) i have always lived in MN, and i can resonate with many of these experiences. there are so many nuances of being Asian American with immigrant parents, but it is all valid and beautiful despite the struggles!!!

I've been a big fan of this channel from when i saw your hilarious reading love letter video. Since you're so fun and witty I couldn't have expected that you'd also gone through the lowlights -think that eastern man needs to improve his driving skills on crowded and busy street in seoul. Thanks for sharing your story. I support you and want you to be happy as always!

I enjoyed watching this video & hearing you describe the formation of your identity. I never experienced not being socially accepted in elementary/middle school since I grew up with people who looked like me. (I’m Mexican.) I went onto high school & my school is very diverse! I developed an interest in the Korean language after being it introduced to Kdramas by my Polish friend! I’ve grown to luv Kpop as well! Korean food is so good!!! Your culture is unique & I’m happy you have learned to embrace it! Happy Asian Pacific Heritage month! 💗

I love you so much! Thank you so much for explaining your identity. I’m also from Minnesota omg and I found you sometime last year around your YT friends. I was also around white people and I try to be like them, one time in middle school, I had Indian friends and I would eat with them during lunch but then this white girl made fun of the fish sauce and says it stinks and I remembered crying because I brought it eating with these carrot salad and rice. But I am Vietnamese American and as I got older, I learn more about my identity and people were fascinated by my culture which made me super happy.🥺 I was also in student council throughout my 4 years of high school and was so involved.
