It really depends on where you are and your insurance. I had Medicaid get me into surgery in less than 2 months and I didn't pay for it being poor. That being said, I lived in a state that funded it well.
I make 80k, and my insurance is about $83/paycheck. I pay $1600 for a deductible. The most I pay for expenses is $5000/yr. They give me $1400 into a bank account for that though. It's better than some folks and I'm lucky. My PCP and therapy visits are free. Derm was free too, psych, blood tests. A lot of my drugs were free when the insurance started kicking in... But again, you need that good plan for it to be worth while. I'm very, very lucky.

When Kim and Trump were having heated exchanges, many Americans notably Caucasians and seemingly distant were calling for an attack and even nuking North Korea without a care of surrounding populations impacted. as a korean new zealander, i see alot of ppl calling korean brainwashed for liking USA or supporting usa when they are supporting israel for genocide in gaza or making genocides around the world . but i think this mindset should stop because everyone has their own opinions. there are 7 billions people around the world and i dont get why ppl are forcing or criticising how other people think especially when they have own diff opinions.
personally, usa has alot of issues such as shootings and also political issues such as withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan etc and US government made alot of bad mistakes but still it was USA that defended south Korea during the korean war and still continues to defend until today by having 30000 troops in south korea and 50000 in japan. if it wasnt for usa, then south korea would be under north korean rule which means no kpop, no kdrama, no kbeauty, no freedom/democracy, nothing. all the things that foreigners love about sk wouldn't exist today if usa didnt defend sk. despite all the problems that usa has made, majority of koreans have good image bec of it. also alot of them enjoy pop music and movies. its important that u differentiate politics with culture. even tho many korean dislike japanese government, it doesnt mean we should hate Japanese people or culture. theres alot of korean ppl that enjoy japanese culture such as anime or manga.
so any people that forcing Korean to think the way they should is closeminded. its important to be open minded, accept other opinions and also mind your own business. if you dont like what u see then dont watch it.
even i prefer peace between israel and Palestine. i dont want innocent ppl to die just because of relationship between two government so i dont support israel as well bec of genocide.

There's high regulations on farming and raising animals for food or other uses that does not allow this so called "abuse" you speak of. North and South Korea are divided because one side wanted freedom and the other wanted slaves and absolute control. I do agree that the opioids are a big issue in the US. As far as poverty goes, there are poor people in all countries. But the US has social programs like cash aid, food stamps, section 8, hud and other programs to help people. Which most countries do not have. Most of the stuff you talk about are things that news stations spread false info about around the world. I can almost think you're not even American which means you shouldn't spread rumors about stuff on an country you're not even apart of or know anything about.

The disconnect between the Koreans interviewed and what appears on US-based media is very revealing. The relationship between the US and South Korea is transactional. The US offers a military presence, and Korea sends the US goods and KPop. Americans have no interest in visiting Korea, and neither do other countries, though China has the most tourists which can be verified by the Korean Tourism Organization.
The man who actually lived in the US as a student has the most realistic view. While he does not elaborate he mentions the skewed image of the US in Korean media, the economy, and the election. It would be interesting to ask specifically about how Koreans view American politics. Would they be shocked at the length of campaigns, the amount of money spent, and the current choices for president?
I was born in the US but I don't recognize the country that it has become. The open grifting and lies spewed by national politicians and the dysfunctional justice system portend a second civil war and the end of the Empire.

We think that the EU is the most advanced region in the world, and we even do not have any historical grudges as our enemy in the imperialist era was Japan (not the European colonial empires). I think the only problem between us is distance (western Europe and far-east Asia is too far away from each other to actively communicate cultures)

    • @MayaTheDecemberGirl
      @MayaTheDecemberGirl 2 дня назад

@@ignisilluminati Not all European countries had colonial past. My country (Poland) never had any overseas colonies. And despite distance, we have nowadays more contacts, and there's even cooperation between our countries, including military one (we buy currently quite a lot of military items from SK). Also more and more people, quite a lot currently, travel to South Korea as well as to Japan. And there are even some interesting, quite popular RUclips channels about SK and Japan in my country: about South Korea - "Pierogi z kimchi" and "Pyra w Korei" (of two Polish women living since years in SK) or "Kim jestem" (of a Korean living since years in Poland, with both of his Korean parents who also moved to Poland, and he speaks Polish perfectly). And about Japan, the most popular channel is of Gabriel Hyodo, who is half Polish - half Japanese (his Japanese father lives since years in Poland and has a Japanese language school in Cracow). This week Gabriel went also, as a tourist, to South Korea for the first time (usually he visits Japan, where he has a grandpa), and there's a whole video from SK of him. And also "Ignacy z Japonii", a channel of a Japanese who also moved to Poland, and he also learned to speak Polish perfectly. So nowadays people do travel, are interested in the world, learn languages (also in Poland there are language schools of Korean and of Japanese), and there is cooperation especially between states that are democratic ones. And there's even a factory of kimchi in Poland, of a Korean brand "Jongga" (a Polish-Korean factory), near Cracow (because we generally like pickled food). A lot of Koreans live also in Wrocław, where's an LG factory, so there are some Korean restaurants in this city. So nowadays various countries and people may cooperate, if they share views.

What makes the U.S.A different is that their a nation builder when it comes to foreign intervention.
Most American today don't like that about their own government for going around the world and pumping millions, even billions of hard-working Americans' taxation to help build nations around the world. Expanding its influence and military complex with well over 800 military bases around the world today.
For the past 79 years of doing it, it has been taking its toll on the American people's hard-working taxation that funds the entire thing.
The question is how much longer can America continue to go down this path of being world domination already being trillions in depth as a country.
How long can America continue down this path is the important question, and can the American people continue down this path for another 79 years or even the next 200 years or will the people break the government first.
All superpower will eventually fall, and history has taught us that.
Just like the Spanish empire to the French empire to the British empire that once had great military power and influence around the world, they all eventually succum to the same issue that the American are currently on today. When a country taxed their own people to the breaking point and the people rebel against their own selfish tyrant government, who put their desperation for world domination over their own people.
But it is a fact that without America today, the world will be in a much worse place.
Before America rose to become a world power during ww2, the world was in a much worse place.
Powerful country, we're fighting each other nonstop, and when a country has lost the war, the loser country and its people succum to the brutal treatment of the Victor country. Creating an entire new generation of people who want revenge and will take revenge when their generation becomes of fighting age man to free their country from the brutal treatment of their enemies. Creating a long stand hatred and wars between nations that goes on nonstop.
But when American rose into world power, they broke that cycle. They defeated Germany and helped rebuild Germany. They defeated Japan and helped rebuild Japan. Something new.
Rich country has not fought rich country directly since then.

The American period has indeed allowed a massive reset in international relations on a more equal post-colonial footing. The reason for this is the USA does not really know what it’s doing. If it did, like Britain and France do, it would have taken full advantage of its power and would not have ended up suffering the problems it currently has. Britain and France kicked off the industrial revolution and are the only countries that really understand the world we live in today.

After the Japanese surrendered and Koreans were liberated in 1945, the Korean people established their own government called the People’s Republic of Korea. But when US troops arrived on the peninsula, they refused to recognize the government that Korean people wanted, and instead occupied half of their land, and embarked on a deadly war. the US then hand picked a president, Syngman Rhee, to rule south korea. now, if the US really wanted to help other countries, why wouldn’t they help koreans build the nation that they actually wanted?

lmao your precious american exceptionalist lie is also the reason why hmong people were abandoned and forced to trek across the Mekong river when they helped the U.S during the Vietnam war, leaving thousands to d1e. over 50 percent of americans didn't even approve of southeast refugees to be able to refuge to america and only christians agreed to do so so they could convert the community, deeming the culture inferior. America doesn't give a fk about anyone but their own interests. quit rewriting history and sugarcoating the bad. its the u.s who has for the past 3 centuries since its conception prohibited and prevented peace from ever happening. the hatred and wars happened because of america's manufactured enemies, and the cycle continued BECAUSE of it, not despite it. can't fix something you started. nazism literally exists because of american eugenics theory. america also interned thousands of japanese americans and ruined their lives. not to mention the obvious 2 nuclear gen0c1des. it was an AMERICAN who also forcefully opened the borders of japan when they didn't want to, leading to the restoration of the emperor system and the desire to colonize asia. if you read literally any source on this history, its obvious that america's intentions weren't to help anyone. but to use racist ideology to conquer people who they deemed inferior through the idea that god willed them to violently impose their cultural dominance on the "poor savages". can't destroy something and then claim to be the saviors. america is the definition of projection.

I hate when the media outside of the US constantly report the high cost of health care in the US. They are comparing those without insurance and a vast majority of Americans have health insurance. It does not cost me $2500 to get ambulance service. If it is an actual emergency, insurance will cover almost all, if not all of the ambulance costs. I have an elderly family member in Korea and every time they need to go into the hospital, it costs them thousand dollars in nursing aid which for some reason is not covered by the national insurance plan. My spouse had a hernia operation in the US and it costs us about $300 total.

You’re either trolling or choosing to be ignorant.
It’s a hard fact that US healthcare costs are ridiculously high (WITH insurance). Without insurance, you might as well just end your life.
Watch any RUclips videos available explaining why/how.
Peter Attia on JRE “Why healthcare costs are so high in America” is a good example.

I don't know where you are from or your situation but as an American living in America, I am just telling everyone how much I and my family paid for medical treatment. It is nowhere what people think. It costs me about $20 and sometimes it is totally free to see a doctor. I know my health coverage may not be the same as everyone else but to think that all Americans are having to pay tens of thousands of dollars for medical treatment is not accurate.

@@jcjung5544 I don't know which state you live in, and I don't know how you're playing $50/month for insurance. I lived in California, and now I reside in Korea. The #1 factor that deters families from moving out to the states is health insurance.
All my acquaintances in the states would fly out to Korea and get whatever surgical procedures they need. The flight cost plus fees without Korean insurance still costs way less than the states.
Most families of 3 that I know are paying from $1,500 to $2,700 a month in California for health insurance. (Unless subsidized through your work.)
