While I knew all of this information, I wanted to share an actual advanced tip here in the comment section: When picking up the special ammo such as incendiary or shock rounds, it is SUBSTANTIALLY more beneficial for you to equip this on your sidearm. It doesn't matter if you're using a pistol or sawed off as a sidearm. But here's why: If you were to pick up shock rounds in an automatic firing weapon, those 30 rounds are depleted in one magazine and maybe 1-2 enemies may have been affected by the incendiary or shock status effect. However...Using a sidearm you have all 30 rounds to pick and choose which situation to use them in without spending all of your special ammo in one magazine or on one or two enemies. Now, if you are caught in a situation where you are being rushed by a much stronger opponent, you can take out your sidearm and shoot a round into them and get some distance. You can also use it against a more powerful boss to keep the status effect applied as long as possible by shooting the boss immediately when the status effect ends. (Be advised: Repeatedly shooting the same enemy will reduce the time they are affected by the status effect and will eventually become immune. All you need to do is less some time pass and you will apply the default duration once again.) You may wish to use this tip on another semi automatic weapon such as a rifle or marksmanship rifle, but here's why I say to use your pistol instead. It is much faster to pull out when you are caught in sticky situations.
that's what makes this game so sweet. it's a shooter where not only to do realistic military tactics work, they're almost required on higher difficulties
For all the new players picking it up because it's only $3 atm. Save the side missions until after the story. Side missions scale to your lvl as well as the EXP from said missions, story missions do NOT scale and have static EXP rewards no matter what lvl you are. It'll help you reach max lvl faster. So bust out those main missions first.

Also for reloading, especially lmgs, watch your character. When the new clip is in the gun, switch to your other weapon or equip a skill and it's an automatic reload. With lmgs, once the gun belt is laid over the barrel, that's when you switch. For any clip weapon, once your character inserts the new clip, switch and you'll have a full mag. Or get a piece of gear with Fill'er Up. You reload both weapons at once.

@@indegostalker2259 Yeah, Ubi probably sent me scripts for all my other videos that are very-well scripted as well. Actually, in U,I resize and move the hud and line it up to sit right below the ammo/armor bar when you are aimed down sight, it will take a few tries, but once you have it positioned well you will notice those behind and side enemy spawns way quicker when that red bar flashes.
I like seeing someone else using the strategy I'm using; LMG to suppress, Oxidizer to push them back out of cover, LMG to re-suppress. I added just enough skill points to mod my launcher to shoot 3 canisters so I can spam the bejesus out of those annoying purple LMGers. Combined with the 15% damage buff to LMG on the Demolitionist specialization, it does great, especially when combined with an SMG with the same 15% buff (plus the near 50% crit chance available through its mods) and a cluster grenade with buffed explosive damage. Oh, plus the talent that reloads all of your guns if you reload one from empty. Let loose a 102-round salvo from LMG, quick empty my SMG, and now I don't have to sit through a 4 second reload.
At 4:00, still waiting for you to bring up the beginner tip of using L SHIFT to switch shoulders for shooting. Don't think I'm gonna see it. EXTREMELY helpful.
I did, and it was a big let down after BETA. However, it did get better after a few updates. I wish I did stick with it, instead I went to ESO and lived there for a few years. Now I'm in Anthem, FO76, and The Division 2.
I played Division for about 20 hours before hanging it up for good. Division 2 is not only a vast improvement over the original but it's a standard for the entire looter-shooter genre to look at. It's a fantastic game.
Very nice walk through on the core settings and gear. I've been running dz since I unlocked the first zone. Didn't realize how much I needed to work on till now, when I reach the higher levels.
Thank you so much, i'v played this game for weeks but the User Interface is so unintuitive that you just made me discovered new game elements !.. and i'm half way through this video.
Story mode is not the fastest way to 30. The side missions gives you 33% of your next level up. No matter the level. Get to tweenty the normal way then do side missions. They will give you 33 percent of whatever level you are at. No matter the level. The story missions gives you a set amount of exp. No matter what.
Save your side missions for lvl 25 and up because those are the grindiest and hardest levels to get by so saving those side missions for later give you something to do and give you more exp later
Your video is awesome also just wanted to add you mentioned how diving at the right time can save you reload time. Well the same goes for switching weapons. You shoot your primary weapon, reload and when it’s about 80% reloaded switch to your next weapon and you can maintain fire a lot more efficient if you’re behind cover etc
Dont do side missions till the end of the story. Youll most likely finish the story before you max out levels since you max at 40 now with the Keener dlc. Side missions give lots of xp after the story.
Great video. Another handy tip is to ALWAYS inspect skill mods, don’t just look at gear score. Often an identical spec mod can have a higher or lower skill requirement, even though it’s the exact same mod. Both mods do the same thing eg: +5 ammo however you will see that it’s very rare for identical talent mods to carry the same skill requirement. So this can allow you to use a better mod for far less skill. 😎
added a sub from me. i'm lvl 17 so mid-game but I'm starting to think about endgame a bit as I get closer and I really liked the way you explained the redistribution of talents and skills cheers for that.
I'm so glad I clicked on this. I knew a few things already but the gear Stat system was completely new to me and recalibration makes more sense now. Thanks for this!
I haven't gotten to the recalibration part of the game so that was something I was interested in. The rest was kind of stuff that carried over from the first game
Just hit world tier 1 and did not know about the cover to cover bit! Oops. Thanks for the great tips. There's so much more to this game than first meets the eye...
I wish I had this tutorial when I started. I wished someone had offer the following perspective: 1. Don't stress about builds too much. If you can figure out how to get your AR damage to 28k-30k or your LMG around 32k-35k, you can complete every mission in the game, except the normal raid. 2.The mechanics will be the same for all game content, find a good angled and covered spot and just shoot, you will be doing the same over and over, and over and over. 3. Prepare yourself to farm if you are actually trying to get into perfecting builds. Farming will be something you will do almost daily. There are many others, but those stick on my mind as I help others.
Hey, thanks man. This was a good video. Been playing the hell out of this game and it's an absolute joy. It has a LOT of depth and does little to explain a lot of these more nuanced things that you've mentioned here. And this is coming from a Division 1 vet!
There are a few shade tech caches I haven’t gotten yet even though I’m in world teir 1. One is near the Outcaat stronghold in a building I can’t seem to find anyway in it and the other is in The Campus area on the border between campus and White House. The shade cache is on the 2nd or 3rd floor and a trashed building but I can’t seem to get in there either. There are stairs you can’t get all the way up and I see no other way up. I’ve tried to look up videos but no one has Campus section videos up yet.
Fantstic video! I have 130hrs and the first two tips were awesome! How did I miss them... Thanks, TerraMantis! Damn, i should have watched this before playing! So much info! Subbed.
Great video! This helped me out loads. Just an fyi for gamers coming late to this game. You can now cross recalibrate attributes of different colors. Super handy!
Best tip i've seen (from MarcoStyle on RUclips) is to use the skills CHEM LAUNCHER with restorer and HIVE with reviver. Especially great for solo play-- they will recover armor during combat (with minimal cooldown), and allow you to revive yourself for an extra life respectively...
I used to watch your Dark Souls videos all the time. It wasn't until the end of listening to this vid I realized it was Terra Mantis. Hope you're doing well!!
Great video but one thing that almost every of these videos that covers perks seems to skip a few key perks. Obviously the perk that allows you to carry your 3rd weapon, the perk that allows you to carry more armor repair kits, the perk that let's you carry more grenades and the perk that automatically fills up your grenades and armor repair kits when you visit a safe zone. IDK maybe these perks are so obvious to any returning Division player, but a new player might not realize it. Except for the perk to carry the second weapon which might be in the tutorial I can't remember.
Got mine about 3 weeks ago, I was overwhelmed when I first started playing but I understood the video and it clarified a lot of stuff regarding equipment and mods. Having major fun tho
What's up man ! I just started to play TD2 a week ago, so I just want to thank you for your tips , it helpt although it is a lot to take in. But thank you so much!
I wouldn’t call these ‘Advanced tips’ cuz any mildly experienced player knows these things, but this is a great introduction to the game for new players

For Reloading: WATCH YOUR CHARACTER ANIMATION!!! Once the clip/mag/belt is in you can dodge and have a full mag
Dodging takes so much time though it’s inefficient for rifles/smgs

Damn! How are you people already World Tier 4?! I'm only just getting to level 10!
im still waiting for tier 5 to be available
spam main quest (story) it gives you heavy flat exp
when you feel like you need more do side quest, they give you 33% exp of your -- current -- level
@@asjad6800 Thank you, as of posting this comment I've reached level 13.
added a sub from me. i'm lvl 17 so mid-game but I'm starting to think about endgame a bit as I get closer and I really liked the way you explained the redistribution of talents and skills cheers for that.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful.
Thanks bro 👍👍👍👍👍 have a good night
This is probably the best tips and tricks video I’ve ever watched I’m gonna most definitely show my friends you got got my sub keep it up 👍🏾
just bought the game a few weeks ago, and this is the most helpfully video I've seen yet about the game. Thanks! good job!
Great job. You spent time describing things I have not seen some other Tubers do in their vids, and I have watched a lot of vids.
This is for people who haven't played division 1
I have finished it years ago forgot alot of things
Just got the game and its awesome! So much to know!!! This video was a HUGE help was so lost of what to do.
I'm so glad I clicked on this. I knew a few things already but the gear Stat system was completely new to me and recalibration makes more sense now. Thanks for this!
I haven't gotten to the recalibration part of the game so that was something I was interested in. The rest was kind of stuff that carried over from the first game
This video should be shown to anyone who thinks about starting with Divison 2 - thank you!
Just hit world tier 1 and did not know about the cover to cover bit! Oops. Thanks for the great tips. There's so much more to this game than first meets the eye...
I wish I had this tutorial when I started. I wished someone had offer the following perspective:
Is it better to sell or deconstruct weapons and armour that you dont need?
Thank you very much for clearing up alot of questions i had. Perfect guide 10/10
This video explains everything a beginner should know about the game. Good Job!
Im a vet from Division 1 and dam this is a really good guide!👍
This is by far the best tips video I've seen in about a dozen that I've watched. I have so many more questions though.
Hey, thanks man. This was a good video. Been playing the hell out of this game and it's an absolute joy. It has a LOT of depth and does little to explain a lot of these more nuanced things that you've mentioned here. And this is coming from a Division 1 vet!
Thanks! Glad you found it useful. I appreciate the kind words.
This is the most practical video I have watched on Division 2👍
You did a great job on this video, keep up the good work, and let us save D.C.!
''Advanced tips'' .... ''Skillpoints are points obtained by completing main missions''
I'm good, thanks for asking!
Thanks mate. Been playing this a bit, and the gear stuff is what really has me confused. This helped me out quite a bit.
I just level 20
ufff
this helps a lot, really
Thanks for the advice
Solid and useful instruction, keep up the good work mate!
I've been playing this for a bit and learned a couple things I was confused about, nice vid and thanks for the upload :)
Thanks, Jacob. I'm glad you found it helpful.
At last someone helps me out, great video and thanks
I just started playing today and watched this video... I’m lost. I’ll be back in a few weeks
Got mine about 3 weeks ago, I was overwhelmed when I first started playing but I understood the video and it clarified a lot of stuff regarding equipment and mods. Having major fun tho
just subed and liked great video keep up the good work !
Great job man, I enjoyed this video
Also I'll be doing live tutorials on Tuesday and Wednesday!
What's up man ! I just started to play TD2 a week ago, so I just want to thank you for your tips , it helpt although it is a lot to take in. But thank you so much!
Great video, had no idea about the cover to cover.
thanks for the tips you made me a better player than before
I wouldn’t call these ‘Advanced tips’ cuz any mildly experienced player knows these things, but this is a great introduction to the game for new players
Great info, even better editing.
Great video, new to Division, and you helped me understand allot about the game. Sending video to friends
