    Hey anyone visiting this vid, I've gotten a lot better at music making since this, and I encourage you to check out this channel for multiple tunes weekly. You can also find me as VolcanoOfBears on Bluesky, where I talk about my next game, Legend of the Origin Story of the Epic Rise of the Sofa King.
    Also, don't forget all the new variants of beepbox, from Modbox to Jummbox and others. Thanks!

    I too am a huge fan of retro video game music and chiptune in general. I've used beepbox for 4 years now and I feel it's safe to say that I utilize it in a way that shows something very important about the tool. Yes, it is easy for a person lacking in musical skill to pick up on something like beepbox, but it's the way they use it that effects the result. For example, I use different software to make percussion for my songs and I use modded beepbox to make the melodies. Beepbox isn't a tool that's just for inexperienced musicians (:

    Man I used beepbox for a long time (and i still do with modded versions like Jummbox and Goldbox) and I picked up so many cool new techniques along the way to make better songs overall. I am kinda worried I wouldn't be able to use any other software tho, since beepbox is really REALLY user-friendly.

      Lately I've been looking at some other tracking tools, and I while I still feel that Beepbox and its progeny are the most user friendly, I've been pleased to see that many such tools are pretty close. That said, I still prefer the box family as it is really so easy to jump in and out of.
      Thanks for the comment!

    Good video. Just so you know, a chord has to have at least 3 notes in it. 2 notes is called a harmonic.

    Hello, I was watching your guide. My goal is to start learning to make Chiptune or 8-bit music. And I realized there is no reverb bar, which I saw you use for around 10 minutes. And I wanted to ask if you could let me know what has or hasn't changed with using BeepBox to make this genre of music. (Basically where is the reverb and other buttons/features that were relocated)

    • @mirasbrush4607
      @mirasbrush4607  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Astro! If you click "customize instrument" below your instrument choice (right side), more options should emerge. You will either get Reverb, and if not, you can click on "Effects" and select Reverb from the drop-down list.
      You can also find more options on follow-up tools like Modbox, Jummbox, etc.

    but how to make melody good

    • @mirasbrush4607
      @mirasbrush4607  Год назад

      Man, I wish I knew! The only advice I can give as I learn is to make it simple! Listen to great melodies from Mozart to Juice Wrld, or from Rob Hubbard to Manami Matsumae - despite background complexity, the melodies are always simple. That's the part I find challenging, not going all in on every note.
