I remember watching this and being so excited about a simultaneous release, its crazy to think that is the norm now. Imagine a world where Sword and Shield were released in November in Japan, and the rest of the world had to wait until April at the earliest to get their hands on it! This was a great direct, rest in peace Mr. Iwata.

Learning a whole nother language is very very hard so I admire his dedication while o never got to see him in his time (as I was too young to know what a Nintendo direct was 🤣) I still admire him and am glad he got to announce my first ever Nintendo game anyway my closing statement will be

Can’t believe this is 8 years old, came out just when I got into Pokémon and lead to my first ever games being x and y (alongside black and white). And man RIP Iwata, a legend and the best man to hit Nintendo imo.

@@Cinnuhminn The whole graphics hasn't changed and it's on a Nintendo switch. Zero passion. They ported x/y battle animations in a 2D game weirdly enough. Could you imagine going into Giratina's world in 3D? Gamefreak: We don't do that here.

Can’t believe it’s been 10 years already. I still remember watching this for the first time on that day.
I remember watching this with my brother in the kitchen early in the morning before school back in sophomore year. The moment we saw Chespin in that 3D battle our minds were absolutely blown. October 2013 was a golden age of everyone having their 3DS everywhere. I miss Iwata. The Wii U/3DS era was better than we gave it credit for.
The very late DS/early 3DS era was the best man. And the fact Iwata cared so much about EVERY Nintendo series... what a man.

This legit gives me memories. I've played every gen since I was like 13. The way the games have changed and how we've played them have brought smile upon my face
SpiderMark 86 Gen 6 was my first gen I got the game on my birthday in September 20
Primarine Gaming gen 6 was my first gen to. I have loved the games since. I got mines in 2014.
Gen 4 was my first game but Gen 6 was the first one that I actually beat.
Gen 3 was my first, I started with Leaf Green.
The first I beat though was 7.

10 years ago was the beginning of a brand new Pokemon world being revealed
10 years ago I went to the midnight launch of Pokemon X & Y at Nintendo NYC and it holds a lot of great memories from that night that I still cherish to this day and I thank my friends both new and old for being part of history that night
Pokemon Y was the game that I picked up and it took me a week to beat the game and I enjoyed it a lot
Mega Evolution remains my favorite evolution to this day and I wish it can be brought back in the newest main series
At least I can mega evolve Pokemon in Pokemon Go

We're getting a Pokemon Direct tomorrow. It's likely going to be a Gen 8 announcement.
I remember watching this in a restaurant at breakfast in the morning we had met up with a couple of my family friends, and we were all watching it on my 3DS, this was hype. Even though Pokémon White is still my favorite, and I think HGSS is still the best Pokémon game period (and my second favorite), this game was still pretty dang fun and I loved playing it as a kid

I’m so excited for Pokémon X and Y! Those starters look so cool, along with the legendaries! I predict that Froakie will gain a Dark type and become a ninja, Fennekin will become a Fire/Psychic type and become a witch, and Chespin will become a Grass/Fighting type. I know, it’s a stretch, but I think that’s what it’ll be! Also, those 3D graphics look amazing!
