Chaka said Prince had to remind her who she was because she was feeling down musically. They got into the studio and started touring together.
❤️🙏
He was such an inspiration and she hit me hard with Tell Me Something Good AND Sweet Thing in the mid 70's as a white girl from an all white small town in No Cali. It was her, the Spinners and EW&F that helped me find my inner soul and love for R&B music. It shaped my entire life...Thank God for music, especially when it speaks to you so deeply and so loudly, that it blocks out the ugliness in the world.
@@thefluorfuser Listening to this made chills go up my spine! Just Awesome!
Listen in and see if you can tell where Chaka got in touch with her roots. Try 5:33 or so.
Wow, really? Damn you never know about what a person is going thru. This is beautiful.
Prince🕊️ you are truly missed 2024 😢
Words cannot describe how much I adore this performance! 💜💜💜💜💜✝️☮️💟

This performance was a crime...They killed it😍
Even her "thanks" is extremely tuned, she is amazing and about Prince I don't have any words,He was not from this World😅
Prince had a huge heart for people as well as for his art. Such an amazing and awesome entertainer. The both of them together is such a Sweet Thang! R.I.P. PRINCE you were definitely ONE IN A MILLION!
Cool beans
I WISH WE HAD THIS KINDA MUSIC FROM TODAY'S GENERATION OF MUSIC MAKERS.
Must admit never really realised until now what a legend this guy was!! . Always hear the same old records on radio. But live!! Brilliant!!!
I loved how he brought musicians to the front of the stage and he slipped to the back without a care. He shone bright no matter where he stood. Damn I miss him.
By far the BEST rendition on this song done by 2 musical GENIUSES
I love this performance! April 21, 5 years since Prince passed away. He is and always will be my fave artist!! So sad he's gone. :(
Absolutely correct
The fact he brought Chaka Khan out on a Reggae groove, changed up her vibe on a song He wrote for her, in another country, on another continent. . .
I love how she came on saying “ thank you” to find that key in a slick way
She is so good
chaka sang a HYPNOTISM in that bridge you hear me??!! and prince + band with this crisp yet cosmic jamrock arrangement come onnnnn. my soul needed this
Love this man to death!!! One of the best performer of time, gifted and so talented, so truly missed Prince!!!
PRINCE🔥🙌🏾💙💜🩵💟
CHAKA❤️‼️🔥
51 year old white girl, farm girl, grew up with George Jones etc. But Lord, went and gave me SOUL!! LOVE THIS SONG, LOVE PRINCE, Don't matter who you are you should be able to groove to this song, YASSSSS!!!
Bonnie Potter ...Who cares if you are white music doesn't have a color 🎷🎵🎺🎤 🎹🎸 May 7,2021
@@sheiladavis6523 my point is actually that usually that demographic isn't open to other music. Close minded no classical, nothing else at all, but I get your point!! 🙂 there lots of people who don't let themselves learn the awesomeness of all kinds of music!!! Rock on friend
I've always said this song rhythm section is basically reggae influenced, as a Jamaican I know for sure, that bassline has Kingston all over it
You’re right..... i felt a real reggae vibe in his intro jam especially
Never heard it before but you’re right, especially this version. Lovers rock!
@ Solid Roc - Great observation 👏🏾.
Chord progression for the majority is the same as Bob marley's waiting in vain just bumped up a half step
You are right indeed, it has the reggae feel to it. Something one can jam to.
When he says that she’s his inspiration, he wasn’t joking. He patterned his guitar solos off of women’s singing voices, specifically, Chaka and Aretha.
When he taught himself to play guitar, it was by listening to records and he would get the foundation from the instruments but his solos were based on vocals.
Love how Prince was feeling that backing vocals he has to jump in. What a Performance
There will never be another Prince
He was always ahead of the game
Sadly missed
His music is eternal there will never be another Prince
Fanx for the memories the music and the magic
Even her saying "Thank You" was beautiful ❤
I had the privilege of seeing Prince in concert, he left me speechless. RIP!
Prince was so talented in everything that his guitar playing seems to get overshadowed. Total top 10 guitarist! Check him out shedding it playing "while my guitar gently sleeps" fantastic
I love how he did that Jimi Hendrix ending intro at the end of the performance
Weeps not Sleeps. smh
Chaka ran so artists like SZA could walk
Classic Prince & Chaka I miss him so much omg 💜
I'd be honored if some Prince fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of PURPLE RAIN and DIAMONDS & PEARLS on my YT channel in tribute to the Master. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the genius of Prince.
Earthly angel Chaka Khan, you are my everything. My sweet thing.
How could so much talent be packed into such a small package? Always loved Prince, always will.. Absolute class 🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great things come in small packages. It is not always about the size.
Legend has it that 25 million children were conceived to this song
Thats all... Wow thought it would be more...🤔
chaka brought her own fan with her - because she is easily overheated - because she is smokin hot
Oh yes she is!
Truly one of the greats.
Steamy ♓️ ♈️
- The world has not been the same - 🖤
thank u I practically cry every day loved this man so much
So underated as a guitarist, he was mustard, some of the riffs he did were beyond magical.
My man Prince was the king of music!
That's how you love not just a women but any human being. Respect, gratitude that they are, mutuality and unconditional ☮️
There is nothing like a live performance 🙌🏾.
This is a beautiful performance. Prince feeling Chaka Khan voice and range then translating it through his guitar. Chaka Khan is amazed at how Prince translated her and the backup singers are in complete awe. The band went to another level. Wish I was there.
PRINCE sure do know how to pull at our heart strings with that guitar even from Heaven.

@@randallel5299 LOL!!! They better do some homework and see the songs he wrote ...
