The biggest mistake ( next to that stupid cliffhanger) that TWD writers ever made was to give the hospital a bigger part in the series than this
The cliffhanger was because they didn't know who to kill at the time of filming. Asshat.
I agree with u so much..they should have spent more time here cause it was way more interesting than that dumb hospital crap..that and I didn't care to see Beth's boring self
The only part where I got bored in TWD was the fucking hospital. I hated it.
rey skywaka this Arc was resolved so quickly and I kinda ended up disliking it. I hope it was handled better in the comic.
that is so true

Definitely think Terminus was a major reason why Rick started becoming more like Shane once the group reached Alexandria in Season 5.
I mean running into cannibals will do that to you
Rick began his Shane transformation almost immediately after he killed Shane. I think when he ripped out Joe's throat, Rick 2.0 was born.
Yeah hard to trust people after the living and dead wanna eat ya
@@meghanmonroe when he killed that dude at the prison . The prisoner with the machete
@@About36Greekss That was pretty savage, but more on par with the "Nebraska" guy and his friend in the bar back in S2. Definitely a step towards Rick 2.0.
Garth's actor did really good. He played the role subtle and acted casual without trying too hard.
I know. As much as I hate Gareth, I like Andrew J. West's acting. If only the writers could've extend the Terminus plot...
+Aire Jam It's because of the annoying plot with the Hospital people with the cops.
Garth's actor did really good. Mike Myers did pretty good as Wayne, too.
***** nice1
I met andrew j west he was so nice
The "Terminus Arc" and "Hospital Arc" should have switched episode lengths. Terminus had a lot of potential, while the hospital was so... boring. It was just a long, drawn out excuse to kill Beth.
Louis Cohn preach
Louis Cohn This is an old comment, but the Termites arc lasted just as long as the hospital arc if you count this finale.
Sorta but not exactly. The terminus peeps only showed up at the end of one episode.
Louis Cohn True
Matthew Feagins I'm willing to accept that in the comics, The Hunters were just supposed to be a way of showing that Rick and his group, post-prison, were not to be fucked with. However, in the TV Show, Terminus was a huge base of operations. A community of people. I think it should have taken more than one episode to destroy the base and defeat them. The post-Terminus stuff where Gareth and the surviving people were basically just The Hunters from the comics, would have been fine if the show didn't rush through defeating the base first.

I love how there are absolutely no questions or hesitations rick makes a move Darryl instantly draws his weapon followed by the rest of the crew without even knowing what's going on. That's family
Hell yeah, Rick just wants his group to live peacefully, and they know that he knows best.
If rick gets suspicious, then they know something's wrong.

The way Rick looks at Garrett after he gives his "don't do anything stupid" speech, you could tell he knew something was up. Just read him from his police background.
Pause at 2:30 you could see rick staring at his soul
At this point in TWD, Rick & Co were rightfully suspicious of anything that seemed too good to be true.
Rick Grimes could smell the Foolery 😏
He said "We have nothing to hide". Nobody who has nothing to hide ever says that. Simple psychology, if you actually have nothing to hide then you don't feel the need to tell people that.
Rick knows the script. LoL
"The more people become a part of us, we get stronger."
In the literal sense. Well, at least he did not lie
That's sounds dirty and your profile pic for that
Interesting choice of words!
Well these people wouldve died to another disease than zombies, after all eating humans will get you their brains or other infected with a severe outbreak from their tainted meat

This episode makes clear what Rick said in the first episodes of the fourth season, when he said to Carl "don't name the pigs", in this scene, Gareth didn't called them for their names not even once, because it would be more difficult kill them.
so not true. He called Bob by his name...
Indeed he called Bob by its name several times, even though what you say here it's kind of true
Project Z He called him Bob because it was a callback to when Rick and that cop ran down said, "Can't go back Bob"
He also calls him Bob because he doesn’t eat dark meat

Echoingdolphin 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 thank to you am turning into a living dead
This made me laugh so hard oml
Gareth motioned him to do it. Meanwhile in the real world the actors probably would hug each other in RL no homo.
0:25 Look at the way Gareth drops his paint brush in anger, and then when he turns to face Rick and the group with a brief expression of rage. You can tell from those small bits of body language that he is fuming at the fact that he's been outwitted somehow or something didn't quite go according to his plan. He's not at all happy to see them. A small but crucial hint into the psychopath that would later be revealed and a phenomenal performance by the actor!
use the signs for get people to eat them
I think Gareth was more upset for thinking he was about to get robed again by a random group
I've seen this so many times and I never noticed that...
I'm fairly certain that was all an act. I think they knew ricks group was coming but let them. Gareth says one of his people scouted rick leaving a bag of guns in the woods. So they saw him before he entered terminus.
Actually they already knew ricks group was coming so
Holy shit the terminus people tried to feed them human meat.

You know they all respect Rick so much as a leader. As soon as he draws his gun, they all draw their own without thinking. True loyalty right there 💪
He's the pack leader. They chose him because they trust him.
these Terminus cannibals were the scariest, most ruthless group on the show yet. even more psychotic than the whisperers and more brutal and unreasonable than the saviors. thank god they were a small group compared to the other bad ones. I was genuinely scared for ricks group til Carol showed up to turn things around !
Agreed
Claimers were just as bad
@@melanieball2183 the Claimers weren’t as smart or organized, and a very small group with only 4 guys. had Rick and Darryl never been in the picture and killed them, the Claimers would’ve instead crossed paths with terminus, and been killed and eaten. and like Mike said above, you saw the room with the piles of kids toys and clothes: Terminus murdered and ate whole families that crossed their path. the claimers were very bad men but they were nowhere near that insane. neither were the whisperers. a group cannibals are the most insane ruthless people you could run into
Well I guess they aren't too great at actually growing their numbers. Tough pitch indeed.
One of the common complaints I see about TWD is that the story line is always just a repeat of the same thing in terms of the group meeting a new set of bad guys all the time, but I think that view is short-sighted in that it ignores that in each group of bad guys is different and has its own personality and motivations, and you're right that the Terminus group was probably the worst, because as they said, "they'd do this to anyone." They would murder anyone they came across. One of them even tried to smother Judith when she was a baby.
Negan makes these guys look like Girl Scouts
GameJump3RZ I think I'm much more afraid of cannibals.
GameJump3RZ Disagree. Negan makes you work for him, or in rare cases, work with him. These guys only want to kill and eat you.
These guys were savages without having to wear the part or act hard unlike negans group. That's what was the most terrifying.
The whole negan thing is getting annoying
GameJump3RZ lol so true
I so wish they made the Terminus storyline a lot longer. It had so much potential. It was really interesting to see how the zombie apocalypse turned certain people into cannibals to survive. And Andrew J. West (Gareth) played the psycho cannibal leader PERFECTLY. The crazy people at the hospital were honestly so boring.
Yeah those flashbacks to how they took back their community and became cannibals was way too short in my opinion, it was cool.
Especially since Gareth is supposedly one of the major 7 villains. Even tho he only had 4 episodes. The "Major 7" are Shane, Governor, Gareth, Negan, Alpha, Lance (for some reason), and Pamela Milton. Not Pope, not the Wolves leader, not Jadis, not Joe the rapist, none of the others.
@@blakedevitt6948"Joe the rapist"
I do agree it would’ve been great to see more because Gareth was a great actor and amazing villain, but I like to see Terminus as the intermission and buildup from the governor to Negan.
Rick throughout the first 5 seasons is constantly evolving. He loses his naïveté to Shane and the governor in season 4 is what (imo) finally breaks him and causes him to take no chances anymore (They didn’t finish the job, so the governor came back around a second time and ruined everything they had). Then the people who attack them on the road cause him to descend even further. Terminus (along with the gang on the road) is just intended to show that 1. The old Rick won’t survive in the new world, and 2. The enemies he faces are only going to become stronger (Negan)
If u wan watch a movie series about cannibals watch wrong turn 😂
the tone of that radio broadcast woman's voice sounded very eerie. Perfect for the whole Terminus theme.

The Hunters = Gareth and the remaining Termites after the fall of Terminus
The Claimers = Joe and his gang

colormered13 I remember thinking that they would tie up both stories in the mid season finale like Gareth would have returned while Rick and Daryl and the others were in Atlanta and Glenn and Abe’s group was on their way back to the church so we would have had Carl and Michonne and Gabriel dealing w/ Gareth and Rick and Daryl dealing w/ the rescue Beth and Carol/ dealing w/ Dawn arc then Abe would have shown up to the church killed Gareth and Martin and the other termites and then they woulda plied into the fire truck and headed to Atlanta and then the rest of Beth’s arc ending would have happened.

if they were planning to wrap up this storyline in 2 episodes, why the hell did they hype it up for sooooo long? even the posters leading to this season were like "#terminus, who's gonna arrive" so much preparation and build up for nothing. gareth's death was one of the most disappointing ones for me. i didn't have ANY satisfaction of seeing a villain fall, just a feeling of "noo... not the cool new villain".

the hospital arc was so stupid. It literally added nothing to
The show... They killed Beth, the main group didn’t learn anything or gain anything from it, and the only character gained (Noah) was killed before the season ended.
Noah was done dirty. Him and jesus should of had a shit ton more to do.
@S C when Beth said I get it now it was because she realized that Dawn (the police officer) was not gonna let the group go without having something in return, Beth knew she would never see the error of her way so she tried to kill her so that Noah will be safe.
Beth was truly the worst character in the history of the show. Boring as hell, flat personality, I literally like Andrea and Lori COMBINED better than her. I wasn't in the least bit sorry to see her leave.
@@ZenMonkeyGod Exactly. She was literally useless and died a stupid death. The only reason they kept her was to add filler so the show wouldn't catch up to the comics too fast.
Beth should have been torn apart by zombies in that episode that was just her and Daryl. Would explain why Daryl joins Joe and that group. Failing to save a teenage girl would drive anyone to a dark place
This terminus people scared the shit out of I thought finally they had a place to call home only to find canibals 👀

Now this is The Walking Dead I know
Ahh the glory days of TWD…. I used to look forward to Sunday evening every single week. The off season was the longest wait of my life every summer. Now, the show is almost unrecognizable and I really couldn’t care if I miss an episode.
It happens 🤷
Just be happy that you had the chance to watch something and enjoy it when it was new.
I'm personally getting to where I just watch older stuff because new series, heck, even most of the newer movies are just very plain and boring to watch whenever I try to get into something new here lately.
Season 1-6 were awesome
I am really surprises that Rick remembers Hershel's watchs that he gave to Glen before he was murdered.
Why. It was the prized possession of one of his closest friends? Also the prison riot gear, backpack and poncho were give aways
Only a moron would forget that
I still think that this group was the most terrifying in the series. When they were lining up people in a pig trough like at a slaughterhouse, smacking their heads with a baseball bat, slitting their throats and draining their blood like it was just another day at the office just so that they could eat them later was horrific. The Governor and Woodbury, Negan and The Saviors were just dicks who had bad motives but you could at least kinda understand their reasoning. But Gareth and Terminus were absolute savages who ate men, women and children.
I think that scene with the tub and the bat...was so twisted. I don't get freaked out that easily with horror movies. But I remembered watching this scene...and saying out loud. WHO THE HELL CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA!!!???😂
SeaBass SeaBass Yeah, man. I couldn't believe that it was on Network Television.
SeaBass SeaBass and also the fact that the people at Terminus looked so nice and friendly.
I don’t think Negan would want half of their food.
3:40 Rick was looking around and recognized the Orange backpack, the Armored clothing, the Scarf and the Watch. It belongs to his people who they lost earlier. And now the Terminus people got it so in Rick's eyes they must have took it which they had.
The hospital length was BOORING I fell asleep after EVEY hospital episode
The Terminus arc had So much potential...they should have switched lengths
yeah the showrunner then was a fucking knob and then we got Scott Shitple, an even bigger knob
The fact that the terminus group is so small inspite of the fact that they supposedly invite everyone in is a bit of a dead give away right off the bat.
Even if they hadn't been cannibals, probably not safe to stay in a place you could easily break into.
Rick was literally the only ones who noticed that they all were wearing Glen' s stuff... poncho, armor, pocket watch and glen' s backpack...
he was a cop as well.

4:23 T-DAWG CONFIRMED
I always liked Daryl’s response time when a fight comes in place. He always has your back, always ready and he would follow Rick until the end of the world.
This season was my favorite. Despite how long they made the hospital arc….Was really cool to see the group on the road and working together. Cool to see Alexandrians look at them how badass they were. Was a great time for Rick and Company👏🏻👏🏻
It was a great time for us. Pretty sure it was pretty much misery for rick and the gang 😅
2:21 I like how at you can see Rick’s face go from “father” mode to “killer” mode in an instant here.
3:45 "The more people become apart of us we get stronger" holy shit if that aint some foreshadowing.
He said it literally
I like how Daryl, Carl & Michone didn't question Rick's actions and just followed his lead
The moment he spoke his name, "Gareth", Rick should have known something was wrong... what kinda name is that
"more people become a part of us, we get stronger"
I knew terminus was a big No-No from the start lol
The name really gives the clue - Terminus - End of the line
What a nice group of survivors. I'm sure everything will be just fine.
0.53 Gareth coughs and looks back at the others when he says we usually do this where the tracks meet. Pun = attracts meat. Says it every time and nods back at them when he gets the hidden pun in to this latest group of arrivals. Same when the woman smiles at the Albert joke. Knew it was coming as an in joke.
Does anybody else think Gareth was killed off to early he was only in like 5 episodes including this one
I love how Rick doesn't show a sign of emotion, he knows this could be a trap
God, I still remember how happy me and my mom were when Carol came and blew open a hole in the fence to let zombies in and save everyone, and how happy we were when the cannibals got a taste of their own medicine.
Say what you want, but that was hands down the best moment in between The Governor’s death and Negan’s introduction.
so the governor gets like two seasons to himself
yet terminus which looks like a great concept and the gareth guy looks like a good character... last like for 3 episodes lol
