W.O.W. I'd have used this function dozens & dozens of times but finally understood the concept - big credit goes to Superman analogy! Thank you so much, boss!
I really love the way you put it up so systematic and explained about how the function works and why it doesn't work. Thank you so much and please keep posting about Power BI
funny thing , he solved the issue and came up with a video of how we can not use if not blank and still achieve , thank bro , you evolve and help us too a lot
This is the only calculate I can understand the first time! Can you do a few more. If possible, talk about adding sales from different tables, assume each team has thier own sales tables. Putting them in same matrix column.
Hi Goodly, At the timestamp 7:16, Why did you added -1 at the end of the calculate formula. The function SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR() itself results in previous year values right. By dividing the current year and previous year values, we come to know the growth percentage right. Kindly clear this doubt. Anyone in the comment section can answer.
After seeing the multiple videos i was not getting the functionality of calculate function but this video is gem...Very well explained just one small request can u be little slower in videos.
Hello, I wanna use the calculate function to add filter ..but i wana use more then one filter . In the syntax of function you can add more than one filter .. but when i use it I usualy get blank card (no value) . I dont know why The calculate function work just by one filter, if i try to use more than one, it show me blank value. Would you help me ..please
Chandeep, I am trying to create a simple calculation within PBI. My table has 2 columns - Scheduled Hours and Hours Worked. Each row in the table represents a shift worked by an employee. I want to create Overtime measure, where if Hours Worked > Scheduled Hours then return Hours Worked - Scheduled Hours else return zero. How do I go about doing this while creating a measure?
Hi you have good Knowledge and stuff , ability to solve any kind of solution, but i am not able to catch your speed, may be somebody catch. My sincere request could you please explain slowly
To do a sumproduct, you'd probably write a measure like this =SUMX(TableName, Column1 x Column 2) Take a look at this video - ruclips.net/video/4AQvu4kuSYc/видео.html
As far as I know, 'TY Sales / LY Sales' calculates the percentage change. To determine the growth or decline rate, subtracting 1 is necessary. A positive result indicates a growth rate, while a negative result signifies a decline rate
I really admire and appreciate how You are able to teach. I am studying the DAX Bible but...well there are many unclear things . I really wish to understand all steps of calculate in depth. Is there any chance You will do a video about that. How CACLULE works, step by step with all detail behind. I think this is the most important part of DAX which is also not explained properly anywhere. DAX Bible provide all steps but still...is unclear. Every time I think finally I had understood it...nope...the code gives uncontrolled results.
W.O.W.

Glad it was helpful!
Actually i didn't understand clearly
Your videos have been very helpful to me! I appreciate your teaching style and the examples are clear and practical.

Great work, well explained, just one question, why -1 at the end when calculating % ??
Great explanation 👍
Useful. Thank you.

You explained function well, give the dataset link in the descripition and practise wise
Super clear. Well explained filter override
I was listening so carefully that at 5:34 I could hear someone ring door bell in the background. Haha
Got ur point... doing same right now
You are the best!
Well explained, thankyou so much.
Glad it was helpful!
I like the way you do.for the last measure can you use divide function with alternative value argument.?
Yes you can do that!
The simple definition of the calculate function - it changes row context to filter context.
Hi i found your course list it was great, is it possible to discount for the students , it seems little big amount
Well Explained! Thank you!
Bravo 🎉

For now, I have created using Power Query formula. But wondering if there is a way to create a measure for the same?

Glad you like it 💚
Sir why this -1 appears in the percentage calculation?
How to calculate sumproducts in Power Query or Power BI??
To do a sumproduct, you'd probably write a measure like this
=SUMX(TableName, Column1 x Column 2)
Take a look at this video - ruclips.net/video/4AQvu4kuSYc/видео.html
Why do we place -1 at the end.
very hard explanation. Plz talk very simple and always explain the purpose of writing the way you have written the syntax
I have 2021 and 2022 monthwise data
Last year month numbers are coming ahead of 2021 block
It should come in 2022 block
Please add your courses to Udemy.
Hi
Where is the data file?
at last you added -1 in dax why so?
As far as I know, 'TY Sales / LY Sales' calculates the percentage change. To determine the growth or decline rate, subtracting 1 is necessary. A positive result indicates a growth rate, while a negative result signifies a decline rate

Speak slowly please
