This series is the best thing I've seen from SQLBI. Filter and Row context are the foundation of understanding DAX and doing it well, and definetly deserved this more granular, slower paced explanation. Well done all!
Love the way that has been explained, please continue the series. Once you see the things visually what we have read from your book, it makes a huge difference. Kodos to you and your steam for starting this visual series of explanations.
Being able to see (no better word) in the measures i create or assist is great, explaining it, not easy, this video and will be a good reference, really can't wait for context transition as thats just not possible with the words I know, jumping to filter now, i saw them in reverse
In the SELECTCOLUMNS example (at around 18:08 of the video), would it be necessary to include the Sales[Date] column in this table in order to access the filter/slicer on date? If no, I wonder why not? How would this virtual table be of any use if we cannot filter it by date?
My understanding is it is not neccesary, the filter has already happened when the table is defined (that is unless you want to do something else with that date). I mean the calculation of the table is within a filter context.
Can we update numeric range parameter table in real-time based on the slicer applied on the page? I want to create a slicer ( between type) for % range , this should update based on slicers applied on our visual page Is it possible
At 19:25 of the video he explains how SUMMARIZE removes duplicated rows and so in this example 2 rows of (Quantity 2 x $15.92) ~ 2 x $31.84 = $63.68 becomes 1 row of (Quantity 2 x $15.92) = $31.84, thereby resulting in the lower total.
Could you please give me solution, I have two tables charges and payment my requirement is payment comes month on month based on charge bill month. Suppose jan2024 charge billed $100 so $40 payment comes in jan2024 , $20 payment comes in feb2024, $15 comes in March 2024 and so on so. Bill ID is unique column in both table. How to calculate and show in matrix as Row Charge. Jan24. Feb24 mar24 Jan2024. $40. $20. $15 Feb2024. $60. $25 Please give me solution in pawar bi.

As a visual learner its easier to grasp these concepts even though it probably takes you guys more time. Very helpful
Good video. Going back to basics is always welcome. Thank you!
You can find most of the external tools here: www.sqlbi.com/tools/
Thank you! Some of us learn visually. ❤
I'm marking this as one of my favorite videos.
love all the expain DAX in visual serie

Great video! Thank you very much!
I finally understand it!!
Great content. Now that we have filter and row context videos, please make the context transition visual explanation too 😄
Of course!
Great way of teaching. Thank you.
Great explanation! Grade 1000 in 10!
Amazing explanation Marco...🎉🎉
Waiting for Context transition video. 🕙
Very very important concept!!
Ciao! Great video. By date filter in the example, do you mean some kind of slicer or filter for a visual component or page?
yes

CARA MUITO BOM O VIDEO.. QUE QUALIDADE SENHORES... QUE QUALIDADE!!
Great video, thanks
Will the context transition article/video be released in the next 2 weeks? Thanks!
It's coming later in September...
@@SQLBI Thank you! 🤗

Is it possible
Any upcoming version in DAX Studio.... Sir
Why are the Sales Amount Grouped totals different if Summarize preserves the same multiplication result, but simply collasped by the function?
Can you clarify the question, please?
