Does Chase or others do a 1:1 or better transfer rate of points? My Arrival+ has a poor transfer rate so I just use the straight benefit of purchasing through it, which can allow me to find great flight prices regardless of airlines.

I think southwest is an underrated transfer partner. While not the best cent per point I think you can usually get 1.5-2.0 and can fly for as little as 3000 points I've seen.
I see a lot of people forgot about the value of the underlying item in seeking high redemption values. I've seen two almost identical flights where one is $700 and could book for $25,000 points (2.8 CPP) but the other is $500 and 20,000 points (2.5CPP) and the person tried to convince me the first was a better deal because of the better redemption value.

Great vid! But isn't redeeming at Hotels, Car Rentals counterintuitive when it comes to maximizing points? They give you 10x the amount of points, really 15x when you redeem in the Chase Travel portal. I always rack up points by paying with the card for hotels and rental cars regardless of how many points I have, because I know I will get 15x back for every dollar I spend. Then I use those points and redeem them on the airfare, because I only get 5x the points, or 7.5x since in the Chase Portal by paying for flights. I'd rather pay for the 3 things that get me 15x the points (hotel, lyfts, rental cars) than what gets me 7.5x the points or less. I then use those points to redeem on as much airfare as I can, then pay the remaining balance with my card to get 7.5x for remaining flights. Does my strategy of only spending on what will maximize Travel points make sense?

I do have one question you might be able to help me with. I tried to book a Hertz car rental through the Chase Travel Portal and they wanted $900 more than the deal I was looking at on the Hertz website. I went back and forth several times trying to find the same level vehicle, making sure my dates/times were identical. I finally booked on the Hertz site and got 3x points instead of the 10x. I was sad but I literally saved $900!

@@TheWildsissyyou did well so on the chase portal they jack up the rates sometimes. Always best to compare to a 3rd party.

what's the purpose of having chase freedom unlimited if you have a chase sapphire preferred card that comes with more rewards? why do people say to have them both as a combination?

Helpful not to show random redemptions, but rather how to find sweet spots that work for the individual. Process vs what's possible. Maybe next time or not if you don't know?

Automatically Redeem Chase Ultimate Reward points $1 for every 100 points. So if you have 1.6 million points that would be $16,000 in cash back or $16,000 worth of value.
On the other hand if you redeem your Chase Ultimate Reward points for flights or hotels then the value would significantly increase. Especially if you have the Chase Trifecta.

I think that these points cards are too confusing, I prefer to have a card that gives me cash back and with that cash back I buy what I want without having to be aware of the complexity of the points. BTW great video, is the first time i understand the points deal.

The point system is amazing. You can get a high end hotel for $80 with points rather than paying $400-$500 with cash per night

It should be known that I’ve found at least that the chase portal does give you a bonus yes, however they also have higher prices so it really just evens out. I’ve looked at flights on another website and the portal and the portal is usually a significant amount higher

YESSSSSS I literally just responded to someone else that commented above about that. I saved $900 booking on Hertz directly because the Chase Travel Portal didn't have the same deal. I'm glad I'm not alone in seeing this. I still got 3X points but it was frustrating to me to see that.

Did Chase cancelled transferring points to partners? I don’t see the transfer points icon.
