Great video. Thanks for showing how to get the motor apart in so much detail. I think I may have just run into the same issue only 2 days after installing a primary chain drive. I noticed you have a primary chain drive too. Do you think this magnet slipping issue has something to do with the chain drive? Maybe it results in more sudden force being applied to the shaft when going full throttle from a stand still. And that leads to the magnet ring slipping. Just a theory.
Hi my surron has come up with code er_204 and as soon as you apply throttle it clicks out to code 204 6 flashes on fsult lead, did your motor still run or had it stopped like mine has thanks
Thanks for your response I've managed to get it running again I watched various videos trying to find a solution and I ended up disconnecting every single plug and its working again it was the hall sensor lead that was the problem after my little crash the bash gaurd had pressed up against the wire and trapped it in a way that it cut my bike out randomly so I've zip tied everything nice and tight and it's running again 👍
That outer circle eith the notch what is that?i crashed hard for.the first time and i cracked thr case, which cracked the sesnor and when i pulled my hall sensor.off that circle thing is in 3 pieces..
Hey there, i just subbed, i really wanted to know that, once this hall sensor magnet issue occured, does the motor act glitchy and wont spin when start from still? the story is: I just bought a second hand lightbee and after a short test run, the motor suddently failed, holding the drivetrain making loud noises,i stopped completly and give throttle, no power, i then give the bike a bit of push then give throttle, power comes on but wasn't fluent, sort of glitchy and like i said, fighting the drivetrain making a lot of noise, the chain was dancing like crazy, but however if i keep pushing the throttle it will actually accelerate but generates lots of vibration, i have no idea how electric motors works but with a bit of research online and seeing your video, i have a funny feeling that im facing the same problem here, I HOPE i made myself clear, excuse me for bad english, would you please help me by replying😊❤I also wish to know what could cause this failure and how to prevent it, thanks a lot
Yeah I was a bit rough on this motor, I thought it was going to be cooked when I was opening it. It was meant to be an autopsy but ended up being a fix!
At this point id rather just buy a new motor and build it straight in instead of wasting all this time and mood on opening this motor and put it back together
@@ChrisThompson-j3z still riding with defect Hall Sensor @ 12 Kw . No probs at all. I measure the motor temp with an infrared temp gun. Motor never overheated on me anyways
I love how you didn't treat it like it was made out of glass.
I really thought it was cooked already - or I'd have been much more careful opening it!
there goes its waterproofing :D

That's a really good point! You may be right... I never considered that
Class video think sane as mine I'm fitter so should be too hard lol would get error 6 fir that you reckon mate
I actually didn't get any error codes - it just didn't run right!

@@daveconway6122 great news!
Just curious was your wheel hard to turn im gonna look at mine tomorrow but im hoping this is the issue
No it wasn't! Good luck
Are you sure about the bearing number? Can't find an NSK 8305DU bearing in their catalog.
What about the other one?
sorry bud this motor went back long before i uploaded this video!
What was the initial problem please ? A mates got one that runs on its own at times DANGEROUS😅
Just an error and running rough, stuttery...
Yours sounds like a throttle issue
my bikes topping out at 40mph and judders at if im only pulling a lil on the throttle im thinking this could be it ?
It sounds reasonable - it's worth checking it out! Thanks
very nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!

That's the magnet ring that the hall sensors read - if it's broken I don't think it will be fixeable without replacing it, sorry!
How did you remove the nut ob motor
Impact driver 👍
Has it worked fine since this? or broke again?
It's been working fine since no problems 😁

That's exactly the issue yes
Hi, I have error 211 changed the throttle but issue continued. Can be the hall sensor the issue? Tnx
sorry I'm not sure on that one!
How did you glue it back inline?
CA glue I think. No issues as far as I can tell!
I know where I would not bring my bike after watching this video

Thx dude interesting....
No problem!
I got error 232 which seems to be what a hall sensor related issue
I don't know that error sorry!

Depends if you're a fixer or a buyer :)
@@EbikeRepairs very true. But sometimes i like to spare my nerves

face/palm 🤣
