It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...
I NEVER comment!!! but this is the best how to video EVER!! your fabulous. Now lets see if mom can do it. It's been sitting in the box for 2 years bc I keep avoiding it....not NOW!! thank you!!!!
If you watch the video carefully, he has identified HIS, repeat HIS 3 wire groups as PANEL BOX, LIGHT, FAN. What happened to me and probably you is they are not in the same order. After initial failure, I suspected he was CORRECT, and MY 3 lines were not in the same order from right to left as in the video. So I got a piece of paper and carefully diagramed assigning MY 3 wires different roles. The second time I did this, it WORKED, and it turned out my middle wire was the panel box wire and the left wire was the fan wire. I knew that turning the breaker OFF while doing the wiring of the switch was proper and safe. Trying these steps I mentioned would at worst trip the breaker if a step was incorrect. Never tripped the breaker. This man’s instruction is GENIUS, and I favorited, thumbs up-ed, and Subscribed!
The wiring explanation was by far the best I have ever ever seen. You explained exactly why the fan wouldnt be working and what you would need to do to fix it (ended up splicing the light switch to the connecters on the new fan. everything worked.
Thanks for the informative video. You explained the wiring in detail that matches my set up. I'm a plumber and don't do that sparky stuff very often. Its running and my daughters are happy.
BEST How To video I have ever watched!! You are clear, concise, easy to understand and funny! I love how you showed on a practice scenario how to install the fan. Your wiring explanation was the best I have seen anywhere! I’m fixing to start the install on ours now. Thank you so much!
*Works amazingly **Fastly.Cool** . I love all the features and the double expansion. For once a fan is almost as tall as my window. Updated but not overly fancy.*
Great video and a lot of help. Two things to note ... 1) the Home Netwerks Bath Fan and Speaker is not a good "replacement" fan. Better suited for new construction. I had to switch the short extension arm to the other side which required me to drill 2 holes under the vent in order to attach that arm and stabilize that side against a rafter. Also, if you were to update your wiring sketches, which were great, please add a replacement scenario going from two switches (Fan and Light) to the single switch included with the new fan. Lot of extra wires not required in the end.
this is by far the best most informative video period !!!! thank you for taking the time to make it. i will say i have the one with the orange bottom and you can just snip the connectors to the wires and combine all the three whites and use a twist cap and the same for the blacks and it will work. when you turn on the switch the fan and light will turn on together always and the bluetooth works. thats if you dont mind the fan and light on at the same time. by light i do mean the bath fan light. the fan operational is extremely quiet so it doesnt both me to have them both on when i flip the switch
Hey man.... Thanks so much for the detailed diagram. Really helped me decide to get this unit. There is an upgrade to this one... The 7130-20 BT. It has the pad style buttons versus the physical toggle on this unit. I actually pre this one because of the physical switch. The complaint with this latest is that the pad style switch is not eliminated
Home Depot had these on sale a while back for $69.00i on close out dropped from the $159.00 original price and I couldn’t pass them up for the price. Bought 2 of them for both of my bathrooms. Great video as long as you have a attic to get into to install this unit. In my case I did not have a attic and had to install mine from in the bathroom on a short ladder. This is where some creative installation work has to be done and getting the hole just right to put this fan/light/speaker to go into the hole from the lower end of the ceiling instead of being able to drop the unit down from in the attic again takes a little creative cutting in the ceiling to get the unit in place and still have your cut hole to cover with the fans trim plate that has the light and speaker on it. If your careful it can be done from in the bathroom and no one will ever know you didn’t install it from the attic when your done. I did 2 with no problems and works terrific! Mine also connected to Amazon echo dots in both bathrooms. So their voice activated to play whatever we want to listen to! Btw, in my case there was a existing bathroom ceiling fan that I replaced with this new fan light speaker set up and the new set up was much larger then my original fan. I’m a retired contractor so I probably have more skills then the average person will to tackle this project a unconventional installation from inside the bathrooms then in a attic my manufactured home doesn’t have a attic!
Excellent video! I am replacing old shower fan light and had to go from 4 wire to a three wire. This video made a complex situation very simple. Thanks a ton! Ed
I was trying to install the brackets and saw that the screw was too short. I almost used the longer screw and stopped and researched and found your video. Good thing I stopped. I’m going to HomeDepot now. Thank you!
Great video! I just bought a Nutone fan, but it has a totally wireless bluetooth switch. So how do I wire that? I have a fan/light combo in my bathroom with a switch for each hard wired. Thanks!
I know you've heard this like a million times but I'll say it again. Thank you very much! The explanation for the wiring was freaking spot on! Made me look like I knew what the hell I was doing to my wife! Liked and subbed!!
Not to beat a dead horse here, but 100% agree. So glad I found your video as my wiring situation was a bit "unique" - was able to consolidate to the one switch and remove the additional switch. Thanks!!
do you need that specific switch ? mine didn't come with one apparently. just need to know if the whole assembly will turn on and stay on when using a standard switch
great video...we just had one installed with a full bathroom remodel (homewerks model 7130-18-bt). we have 2 switches, so the fan is on one switch and the LED light and speaker are on the other switch. i have one question: is the LED light/speaker able to be put on a dimmer? thank you!
Can I run the larger fan with a regular switch and turn everything on at once ? I cant fit a larger outlet box due to studs and location. And currently have a double switch in the outlet? I I'm comfortable wiring it I just don't have the ability to leave the separate switch for the other light.
you helped me getting an electrician great tut !!! But im having issues with the switch, it worked perfect once we installed it but now it wont control nothing
I'm roaming through comments because I just bought a newer version of this fan and i'm having the same problem. Worked totally fine after I hooked it all up, took a shower, turned the light off came back and now the power button to the switch works, but when you hit the light, fan and music button nothing happens. I've triple checked all the connections and everything is fine. Did you get yours to work? HELP!
Im doing a brand new install in the bathroom. The bathroom has a light and thats it. If i piggy back the wiring off of that orignal switch, can i use both lights at the same time?
Excellent video. Thank you. What if you have 2 entrances to the bathroom with separate light switches at each entrance? Do you have a video that explains that wiring process?
Just run a separate line from the panel with a GFCI breaker to the bluetooth device. Mine says don’t share with another light source so I ran a new line from my panel. Easy breezy
Great video cc but I kinda wish you went back a little further for us people that bought the first one they put out with the extra two wires for speaker operation, where if not New construction you have to fish or cut your wall to run additional wires, they don't sell them anymore and won't take them back, guess I'll sell it cheap for someone doing New construction, thanks
nothing wrong with the $99 unit.. the extra wires are to turn ON the fan and light separately.. the speaker comes on with the light.. you don’t need extra wires for it to work.. it just ALL comes on with 1 switch
So if I'm replacing a simple fan with the $159 model, will I be OK? You show a simple connection at the fan, but things got MORE complicated at the switch. Will I need to replace two switches with this single switch?
We had the fan put in and it worked for 2 days then the music will not come on . We all turned off our blue tooth for HomeWerks but we have no sound when we turn it back on. Any suggestions. Thanks
what happens if you have two separate switches for the light and fan but have the $159 one that comes with the switch? Also, in my attic there is an extra red wire, what do I do with this one?
@@chriscraft77022 i dont think its that complicated i just dont have a ton of exeperience but need a bit of help if you are capable, if not then thats okay appreciate your time.
Great video, I have a question, when I took out the old fan, the power cord up there has 4 wires, the new Bluetooth fan has 3 wires. What do I do with the extra red wire ?
Chris I installed one like a year ago with no problems(with the switch), I agreed with you about the lighting, this is the best one, I am installing another one on the first floor bathroom but I am getting a buzzy noise coming out of the swtich. i checked three times my connections but still making that noise, I completed disconnected the light switch for the vanity thinking that might be the problem, but no. Still the same noise. Anybody here had the same problem? it might be a faulty switch. thanks
Great video. question about the switch: How much turns on with the main switch? Does the music come on, or only when you push the Music button? Or can that be configured? I’d really like the speaker to pair only when I push the button and not whenever the unit is turned on. Since I don’t want a phone accidentally pairing to it and playing audio in the bathroom whenever the fan is on...
it has to be manually turned on so it doesnt automatically pair with other devices.. i dont have mine as the MAIN light.. it is only used for the shower light... so you turn it on and have to manually push music before it syncs with the closest device
Why is your switch connected to two different romex lines in your switch box. Does my red fan wire connect to the black coming from my panel? "Confused "
Quick question. We are building an addition for a hot tub and I bought two of the 159 dollar fans. I've tried to find one's that are able to sinc up and you can use 3 way wiring. I haven't been able to get the info and we are at the point of installing them. So with the switch that is provided can you do 3way? I'm good with basic stuff but I don't want to try it and mess it up then not be able to return it if you can't.
you never mentioned how the music / speakers sounded. I could hear it but not sure how your recording effected the sound ? not to mention how my lousy laptop speakers may have made your recorded sound, sound cheap?? ...was the sound from the vent speaker clear and did it sound full / nice ?

Great instructions, very straight forward.
Awesome video!! Helped me alot. Simple diagram and explanation.
I want to put my fan where only a light fixture was before. The light has 12-2 going to it. How would that wiring go?
It worked!!! Thanks! Great video🔥🔥🔥
Thanks CC. Such a meticulous, helpful and informative video. Loved it
Very informative! I am going to buy one of these for my house asap
I dont need fan option can light and speaker still work? May you know thanks
Do you need the conduit sleeve and attic/cieling box that run to the unit?

It's it possible to wire the light separately from the fan? My wife wants a separate switch?I have the 80 cfm model. # 7130-18-BT
So how do I hook up my wires to the fan if the fan has green, black, and white but my wires are ground, black, white, and red?
Excellent video. Thank you. What if you have 2 entrances to the bathroom with separate light switches at each entrance? Do you have a video that explains that wiring process?

do you need to put any sealant between the motor housing and drywall to keep steam from leaking?

not necessary at all you just need a single wire not sharing ground or neutral with anything else
