Just wanted you to know that I built a lake house in 2023 by myself. Did everything except the slab and HVAC. Your channel was a high help.
Congratulations on getting your lake house done! That is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself. The channel is definitely useful for people that do not build houses for a living. I’m glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Me too.
Thanks Josh. I am fixing to install a new fan in my bathroom. You explain things very well !!
You have taught me 2 things I need to do that I never thought of with this project.
Here in middle Georgia in my area the inspectors won’t let us put the exhaust from the bathroom fan in the vented boxing anymore we have to install it out the gable or roof now. I didn’t think it was a problem but the inspector said that the vented boxing draws air and will pull the moisture from the shower into the attic space and can cause mold and other problems , the inspector said only way he would approve it in the boxing was to have solid soffit at least 3ft on each side of the exhaust vent.
I have heard of that same code requirement in some areas. In my area they have not addressed that. This bathroom obviously does not have a shower in it so it would not cause any issues anyways. Thanks for the comment!
Better than here in indiana, our home was built in 1979 and it was common for our style of home to just have the bathroom exhaust fans vented straight to the attic with a little stub of flex hose to keep it atleast higher than the insulation. Our home inspector bet he'd find mold in the attic before we even entered the house when looking to buy it. Luckily it was a very small spot and part of purchasing the home agreement was they'd have attic mold remediated, have all the exhaust fans vented to the exterior, and also replace the gable vent fan that was seized up, which they agreed to and did. so it was a mix of venting the moist bathroom air into the attic and that fan not drawing fresh air straight through the attic.
@@TheExcellentLaborer yeah I’ve put them in the boxing nearly all my life, and the inspector let me know I had to reroute it go figure. Thanks for all the videos have a good week
GA as well as
@@d.baileyspeaks yeah I’m in Ga. Aswell.
Shout out to another Ga. Dawg lol
Respect for this video

Please tell me you flipped the light and fan switch right side up after this video? You have them coming on in the switch's off position
Actually kept it in that position. I noticed that after I got all of the switches done and the three-way switches flip back-and-forth anyway, so I just kept it like that. Good catch!
@TheExcellentLaborer I first thought you had it on 3 way switches, but never saw an exhaust fan on 2 different switches in the same bathroom, just lights
@Navy1977 ill use flex tubing for exhaust fan and the tape, but I also put a worm gear clamp around it afterwards, I'm not trusting just that adhesive
Leviton has marked their switches this way. Very disconcerting. Dumb, too.
I was going to say the same thing
Show us how to wire an exhaust fan/light/heater combo to humidity sensor switch and timer switch for heater and separate light switch.
Could you connect two fans together using a wire nut? My bathroom fan is far away from my shower and I've considered adding a second one above the shower. Just curious if i have to run new electrical or if i can connect the two fans.
In theory, I don’t know why you could not do that. Only problem with a fan like the one you see here is that the junction box would probably not support the extra wire. You would probably have to do some other type of junction box 1st, then go to each fan. I hope that helps!

Thanks for watching!
It’s it ok to mix the aluminum and copper wires in a regular wire nut?
It is not.
👌👍
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Man that is one weak sauce model exhaust fan especially for such a tall bathroom. Try the Panasonic whisper series 150+CFM next time, they're great.
Shouldn’t it have installation around the pipe so the moisture doesn’t freeze in the winter in the pipe and run back in
Door somehow got broke on mine and it’s on second story and while using the bathroom the wife was freaked out because apparently a bird decided to im thinking build a nest in the ceiling above the toilet , haven’t made it up there yet to investigate but yeah something is definitely up there.
HOW TO *WHAT* A BATHROOM FAN ?! THIS IS SO MYSTERIOUS!
Oops forgot to put install in the title. Thanks for the heads up I appreciate that!
@@TheExcellentLaborer Cheers man, keep it up! :)
No no no never soffit vent , all the warm damp air will now go into the attic
This bathroom is a half bathroom. It does not have a shower in it. No damn air here. I hope that helps!
Your switches are upside down
Yep I had somebody mention that and I did notice that after using the switches. They still work with no issues. Obviously just a little different compared to the ones I placed in my house. Thanks for watching!
get tire of every other word out of your mouth being (and then) and always talking with your hands if someone was to tie your hands behind your back you wouldn't be able to talk
If someone tied your hands behind your back, you wouldn't be able to post these comments. AND THEN that'd be nice.
And then, next, after that, subsequently, afterwards, and now, with that out of the way, moving FOWARD, for our next step, I'm going to gesture less, do you like me now?
