On the switch: The green goes to ground. The white neutral goes to white neutral. The black goes to the black power. The red goes to the black power from the fan. If you are getting a blue flash and clicking that repeats it's because the red is most likely not hooked to the right wire. The basic way to think of this is that the power from the house (black) connects to the switches black wire ( giving power to switch) then the red wire (when switched on) gives that power to the fan unit thru the black wire from the fan. The white neutral completes the circuit. The green grounds it. No matter how weird your wiring is there will be a black power wire and from that same cord will be the white neutral. The problem I'm having is that the switch will not pair to the fan unit. So the four buttons don't do a thing. I have even switched out all the parts with another whole unit incase something shorted on initial install.
I am having the same problem as the on and off button does everything and the 4 buttons just exist for no reason. By pressing the on/off button, changes the functions for light, fan and speakers. Can't access the night light or blue light. By pressing the on/off a few time would led me to a flashing blue light but up-on pressing LIGHT on the switch, it will quickly turn day LED lights and the buttons would not work. No sure of wiring or switch is faulty. Any recommendation anyone? Tried calling support but I am always home and they are not open for business.
Thank you very much for the video. Double thumbs up to your wife for her simple explanation. The only thing I did differently was I connected the red wire on the back of the supplied switch to the red wire that traveled to the ceiling. I then connected the red wire in the ceiling to the black wire of the fan. I capped off the black wire in the ceiling since that wire powers the other two lights that I have in my bathroom. Before finding your video I was about to call an electrician. Again thank you both very much.
Linda I agree on that. But both he and his wife failed to say to which House Black wire the Switch Red wire is connected to. I need that info for mine.
Your bathroom looks like mine with all the tools laying around. Doing a complete bathroom remodel. Saved the exhaust fan for last. Glad I did. After looking through the instructions I thought to myself, "RUclips". Thanks for the explanation. It helped tremendously. Got to go buy a voltmeter before starting.
Thanks for making the video! Like many people I was stuck in the same spot. What’s funny is your ending. You said said hopefully it doesn’t take us 2 days... the day I watched this was our second day working on the ceiling fan lol. Thank you so much!!
I was very successful with installing mine, but only after 8-hours of cutting out a larger opening for it and having to also totally re-think the ducting work. I found a 4" to 3" inch reduction duct fitting that works fantastically and even speeds up the airflow as it forces the air into a smaller duct going though the smaller duct tube from the big one that the fan housing has. The wiring for mine was very easy and straight forward as I am already equipped with neutral wiring throughout my 21-year old home. All in all, I love this vent fan! The lighting is awesome with the normal white and the two nightlight settings of amber and cobalt blue. The Bluetooth speaker connected instantly to my phone and to my iPad! I love this fan so much that I went out and bought two more for my other bathrooms!
If you purchased the 100cfm model that comes with the electrical switch, it is on its own circuit completely separate from the existing switches in the bathroom. The only thing you have to do is run power to the fan via the black wire.
Excellent video. I am having the same problem and am getting ready to experiment tonight. Following your lead, I think I will start with.... black wire on switch to the power from the house, Red wire on the switch to the black wire going to the fan, white wire on the switch to the white wire going to the fan, and green on the switch to ground.
This video actually helped me a lot, I had put all black wires and the red together and my switch was not functioning, thank you very much for this video
Thank you x1000 . I could not figure out that red wire and I can follow a basic circuit but I'm not electrician! Was able to hook it up thanks to you 🙏
awww.... luv you guys. You were awesome explaining, but your wife fully helped by providing different insight. You two are lucky, she sounds awesome. I love my partner and I am glad to see a beautifully working couple. cheers!
Question. My old fan is wired from the vanity light, sort of daisy chained. Will i need to run a direct wire from the switch for this to work correctly?
If it wasn't for your video, I would have taken this fan/light back to the store. Screw all those shit talkers. Yall saved a defeated man...lol. thank you!
This so far has been a nightmare I have a 3 gang switch 1st. switch- Recess light work pigtail of the main blk wire 2nd vanity light switch did the same as above. Works 3rd switch (unit) wired the red and blk wire White/ white Blk/ blk main power Ground/ground. Doesn't work Fan White to white Blk to blk Ground to ground Capped off the red wired Pls tell me what I am doing wrong?
This video helped a ton. However I still don't understand what to do with the red wire coming from the ceiling. Do I cap it off or something? Maybe it was said but I didn't understand or I missed it
I installed the same one can't control the on off . Red wire connected to my hot black like it say s fan music light is on but can't shut off on main switch? Any idea
Ok. It looks like your wiring in your box is exactly how mine is. I wired my same fan unit the way you did and thought I had success. I paired the switch as it said to do in the instructions. Everything worked including Bluetooth. But then after pairing, none of the function buttons work. I push them in vain. Any thoughts on what has gone wrong? Thanks.
@@ryanjohnson7572 Yes! I figured out that one of the thin bare wires (there are 4) that go into the socket (4 separate hole) was bent and didn't go into its assigned hole. The others did and those functions worked. I went up to the unit and discovered this issue and fixed it and then the pairing was successful. Thanks for asking.
Hi i conect same fan Bluetooth speaker, so first time work , control work perfect so then not work just fan and Bluetooth, so lights not work, just white lite fan and Bluetooth. These have some reset
God I wish I just got a basic stupid exhaust fan. This thing is driving me nuts!!! I'm 6'5" crawling into my tiny attic.. attempting to mess with the wiring then back down to the breaker then try the switch and NOTHING! 😂😢
why didn't you just run a three wire into the attic, wire according to diagram in a junction box and run a 2 wire into the fan from the junction box. i think it would have been a cleaner install.
It's pretty simple. Basically if there are 2 switches the only thing that wont need to be there is a jumper wire from the black wire. Instead the black wire from the fan control goes to the bundle of black wires and the red wire goes to the black wire leading to the fan. The rest link up to common sense. You're welcome
My system is all connected and just won’t stop flashing. Switch on or off it just flashes then makes a click, click noise. Then flashes. Over and over off or on just doesn’t stop wtf is going on.
I just took out old fan used a muti tool to cut rock and plaster to fit the bigger fan and screw it thru the side of the housing against the stud in ceiling so no need to go to attic the cover will cover the hole so just fill with drywall mud to fill in hole if any and done took me 10 mins to install
This wire is a direct link to the breaker panel it doesn’t feed off or feed anything. Completely alone. I tried black and red together to black, I tried black to black with no red I tried red with black. I am just not understanding where I am going wrong. I read the instructions that says it needs to be paired but mine doesn’t turn off at all it is always on.
I have 3 homeworks Bluetooth fans and the buttons on the wall switch control all 3 fans at once tried different breakers and wired separate but still controls all 3 please help if have solution for this prob Everytime someone turns the light blue in bathroom my other 2 lights change blue
Danny fresh are all three fans in one bathroom? Are the fans setup in a series? Is there only 1 switch for all three fans or does each fan has its own switch?

Mine did the same thing ended up being the gray plug inside the light I just unplugged it and replugged it and it connected right away for me

Only a lefty would think that reducing the duct from 4" to 3" would actually speed it up. Okey doke, potato.

Ground/ground. Doesn't work
Fan
White to white
Blk to blk
Ground to ground
Capped off the red wired
Pls tell me what I am doing wrong?
I know i am late to the party but i have the exact same issue at the moment. Did you ever find what it was? i am mentally exhausted
Got the exact same issue. So the red at the fan is not hooked up?
What switch did you use?
So the difficulty was in the switch to connect the Bluetooth fan ?
Note to self. Only install a fan that connects at the current ceiling wires and doesn't need a new wall switch.
i think it is optional, but worth it, especially if your network ever goes down.
Where did you get the switch
Thanks!!
This video helped a ton. However I still don't understand what to do with the red wire coming from the ceiling. Do I cap it off or something? Maybe it was said but I didn't understand or I missed it

I bought and installed this same Bluetooth fan and hated it. How do/did you like it?
How is the actual sound of the speaker? Pretty nice sound or cheap sounding? Thanks for sharing!
TLee we tried the demo they had setup at Home Depot. Sounds clear with a little bass in it. It’s two 2” speakers and it does get loud
Could be louder but not bad and clear sounding not cheap sounding or distorted

Don’t shock yourself. Tape off those switches.

Wiring is no hobby call a licensed electrician its easy if you know what you are doing
So your saying a electrician must install this casue I’m in my 5th month of electrical school and I’m about to fuck it niggas wanna get in the shower
