Question. My old fan is wired from the vanity light, sort of daisy chained. Will i need to run a direct wire from the switch for this to work correctly?
God I wish I just got a basic stupid exhaust fan. This thing is driving me nuts!!! I'm 6'5" crawling into my tiny attic.. attempting to mess with the wiring then back down to the breaker then try the switch and NOTHING! 😂😢
Thank you x1000 . I could not figure out that red wire and I can follow a basic circuit but I'm not electrician! Was able to hook it up thanks to you 🙏
Your bathroom looks like mine with all the tools laying around. Doing a complete bathroom remodel. Saved the exhaust fan for last. Glad I did. After looking through the instructions I thought to myself, "RUclips". Thanks for the explanation. It helped tremendously. Got to go buy a voltmeter before starting.
This so far has been a nightmare I have a 3 gang switch 1st. switch- Recess light work pigtail of the main blk wire 2nd vanity light switch did the same as above. Works 3rd switch (unit) wired the red and blk wire White/ white Blk/ blk main power Ground/ground. Doesn't work Fan White to white Blk to blk Ground to ground Capped off the red wired Pls tell me what I am doing wrong?
why didn't you just run a three wire into the attic, wire according to diagram in a junction box and run a 2 wire into the fan from the junction box. i think it would have been a cleaner install.
Thank you very much for the video. Double thumbs up to your wife for her simple explanation. The only thing I did differently was I connected the red wire on the back of the supplied switch to the red wire that traveled to the ceiling. I then connected the red wire in the ceiling to the black wire of the fan. I capped off the black wire in the ceiling since that wire powers the other two lights that I have in my bathroom. Before finding your video I was about to call an electrician. Again thank you both very much.
Thanks for making the video! Like many people I was stuck in the same spot. What’s funny is your ending. You said said hopefully it doesn’t take us 2 days... the day I watched this was our second day working on the ceiling fan lol. Thank you so much!!
This video helped a ton. However I still don't understand what to do with the red wire coming from the ceiling. Do I cap it off or something? Maybe it was said but I didn't understand or I missed it
I was very successful with installing mine, but only after 8-hours of cutting out a larger opening for it and having to also totally re-think the ducting work. I found a 4" to 3" inch reduction duct fitting that works fantastically and even speeds up the airflow as it forces the air into a smaller duct going though the smaller duct tube from the big one that the fan housing has. The wiring for mine was very easy and straight forward as I am already equipped with neutral wiring throughout my 21-year old home. All in all, I love this vent fan! The lighting is awesome with the normal white and the two nightlight settings of amber and cobalt blue. The Bluetooth speaker connected instantly to my phone and to my iPad! I love this fan so much that I went out and bought two more for my other bathrooms!
Ok. It looks like your wiring in your box is exactly how mine is. I wired my same fan unit the way you did and thought I had success. I paired the switch as it said to do in the instructions. Everything worked including Bluetooth. But then after pairing, none of the function buttons work. I push them in vain. Any thoughts on what has gone wrong? Thanks.
@@ryanjohnson7572 Yes! I figured out that one of the thin bare wires (there are 4) that go into the socket (4 separate hole) was bent and didn't go into its assigned hole. The others did and those functions worked. I went up to the unit and discovered this issue and fixed it and then the pairing was successful. Thanks for asking.
Hi i conect same fan Bluetooth speaker, so first time work , control work perfect so then not work just fan and Bluetooth, so lights not work, just white lite fan and Bluetooth. These have some reset
awww.... luv you guys. You were awesome explaining, but your wife fully helped by providing different insight. You two are lucky, she sounds awesome. I love my partner and I am glad to see a beautifully working couple. cheers!
Thanks 😊
He doesn't mention where the red is connected to
We found that the red was just a random wire hanging out in there- it wasn’t connected to anything on either end
Your explanation solved all the questions I had!!! I truly thank you for this!!!
You saved me a whole bunch of trouble... lol
Thankyou! This helped me and my dad alot!!!
Don’t shock yourself. Tape off those switches.

Oh man! I need an installer for my Homewerks but watching that bunch of "instruments" you use for that,I'm really scared! Lol.
Thanks!!

So the red where does that connect to
From what i saw, it looks like it connected to the black wire to the fan. Were you able to figure it out. I am about to start this process.
Oh wow, i just saw that your comment was from last year. Sorry
Still confused 🤦♂️

Avoid trouble cutting the connectors, I had a problem with the fan and Bluetooth because the connector doesn't work
One hot leg for both switches other wires are sw legs
So the difficulty was in the switch to connect the Bluetooth fan ?
Thank you. This video was very helpful

My god man . Just get to the point .
thanks man your video help me a lot to connect my new light

Thank for the breakdown 👍🏽
Exactly what I needed...Thank you
Both of your explanations HELPED and I did it. Thank you Guys

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I'm in the same boat
Same boat as well
What switch did you use?

Only a lefty would think that reducing the duct from 4" to 3" would actually speed it up. Okey doke, potato.
Got the exact same issue. So the red at the fan is not hooked up?
I need help please. I only have 3 wires. 🤔
Dude, this was painful to watch until your wife entered the pictice.

Wiring is no hobby call a licensed electrician its easy if you know what you are doing
I’m glad I came across this video. I was stuck in the same spot. Thank you!!!

Very helpful. Everything is setup but my recess light is on and not turning off with fan and Bluetooth not turning on.
I’ve been doing electrical for a long time and I would just cringe every time you both would start poking around your wiring with your fingers.
basic 101. hire a pro next time. that is literally a 3 minute job.
awww.... luv you guys. You were awesome explaining, but your wife fully helped by providing different insight. You two are lucky, she sounds awesome. I love my partner and I am glad to see a beautifully working couple. cheers!
Thank you and your wife because of this video I was able to install my fan. :)
Dude! Thank Goodness for your WIFE! she explained all I needed to know in 5 seconds. Thanks for the video, but gracious!
Your wife said simply like that power neutral and fan🤣🤣🤣😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
I don’t have a red wire.
I bought and installed this same Bluetooth fan and hated it. How do/did you like it?
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a detailed wire video. I was stuck for the a while. After watching the vid it took 3 minutes.
So your saying a electrician must install this casue I’m in my 5th month of electrical school and I’m about to fuck it niggas wanna get in the shower
