- By holding your fire button right after depositing a large object you can glitch out the flamethrower to not use ammo, this will last until you stop firing.
This naturally works best on Point Extraction missions for the guaranteed Aquarqs.
Build i used for this clip: 21221 Face Melter
The glitch doesn't really work on other weapons, normally resulting in just the sound playing, although doing it with the Minigun set up with Aggressive Venting and Burning hell can be quite fun.

I'd say people who play (or even main) Driller can't read and write. But I'm just a salty old greybeard.

I was able to successfully pull this off with the flamethrower, but I think it’s only truly “infinite” on that weapon alone.
I tried to see if this works with the shard diffractor but it only fired one unit of ammo without costing it, same with autocannon.
It’s likely because the flamethrower fires “continuously” despite having a magazine, while the other weapons measure their ammo as discrete units (i.e. one container of fuel is different from all the bullets in an autocannon magazine)
Indeed, i came to the same conclusion. The only exception i found was the Minigun, it also only fires 1 bullet but it keeps heating up and will repeatedly overheat, letting you use aggressive venting to some effect, burning hell also works with it. Tried it with the Drak but the overheat mechanic seems to work differently.
@@Blaze10523 Speaking of the minigun, when using your macro build, the gun "breaks" after being fired with the macro. This means that attempting to fire it without letting it fully spin down will result in no bullets being shot, however the barrel will keep spinning and heat will still be generated, along with the sound of bullets being fired. I noticed you can then use the macro to fire again without issue, essentially giving the minigun no spin up time. Not sure if you knew this, but definitely fun to play around with
@@ryanklouda6785 yes, but also if you wait until barrel completely stops you will be able to fire as usual.

This is something I could never do. Not because I don't want to cheat, but because I would habitually let go of the button after 2 seconds. Also I wonder if this works with other weapons.

Perhaps this is what caused my plague meter to keep building up for no reason after I deposited the plaguehearts, even after I got free of rockpox it would keep on going as if I was holding it.

Yeah this only works with the flamethrower. Weapons with the overheat mechanic are screwed over by it. I tried a few tests here on xbox.. Its really weird with the minigun+aggressive venting/burning hell. I couldnt replicate this in another player’s session however. It worked only if i was the host
literally just stockpile aquarqs at the minehead and use them as an ammo reserve, deposit one when you see more bugs than usual or a swarm

This could actually be a pretty ok mod. You deposit something big, or deposit at least 50~ish count of whatever minerals, and then you get 10 seconds of free, no ammo wasting, no heat up, free shooting. That would be cool, but limited. Maybe an unstable?

i dont know if thats been around for a while or not but, if you have Bodkin Bolts on Boltshark, you can have unlimited ammo too, basically.
all you do is fire the arrow to a surface with a tight angle
like it'd almost ricochet if it could
then the bolt you fired multiplies and you get 2 bolts back instead of 1.
Didn't they fix the Boltshark ammo glitch?

kind of, it doesnt consume ammo but it still "overheats" so you cant fire forever.

Kinda, it wont use ammo but it will still overheat, so really you only get 1 free mag

UPDATE: i workds in point extraction, you have to be the host for this to work.

It’s cool but given that it’s a coop game the only person you are really cheating is yourself. They might fix it but I doubt it’s urgent for them

In terms of truly being infinite, yes. He’s also tried other weapons but it doesn’t do the exact same thing; you can see in the other comments.
