The ground is shaking so much you can barely maintain your footing as you step backwards. You ready your primary weapon and aim it down the tunnel. *KEEP ROLLING ROLLING ROLLING ROLLING ROLLING, KEEP ROLLING ROLLING ROLL*- Out of the darkness a flood of pale orbs rolls towards you at a rapid pace. There's no way you've got enough firepower to keep up with these numbers, so you turn away and make a mad dash as best you can, but it's made difficult with how badly the tunnel is shaking beneath your feet. Suddenly a massive impact strikes you in the back, your shields absorb all the damage with no problems, but the sheer momentum behind the blow sends you flying off your feet regardless. You don't even have a chance to gather your bearings as you limbs flail gracelessly while you fly through the air before another impact sends you flying in the opposite direction. Even less time is spent cartwheeling down the tunnel when another impact overwrites your current trajectory. You shields crumble and you start feeling the hits directly. Back and forth and back again you fly, darkness is encroaching on your vision and all you can hear now is the thunderous cries of the Q'ronnar Younglings ringing in your ears... *KEEPROLLINGROLLINGROLLINGROLLINGROLLINGKEEPROLLINGROLLINGROLLINGROLLINGROLLING*
Yeeee... but for those that don't have a 20,000$ PC that wouldn't be fun, especially since it means that it could happen on a deep dives and then you are stuck running at 10fps for most of the stage.
this is what i’d imagine a hive to really look like, unrestricted by things like “game” “design”. a sea of bugs charging to kill the intruders, who are firing indiscriminately into a swarm and missing a total of zero shots, because there are just that many bugs. literal fountains of swarmers.
I would say more like limited to people's PCs. Not everyone has a 2k dollars pc, a lot of people play this game in not so good computers because it is very well optimized. A swarm that big will probably make the game unplayable for a lot of people
@@TOBY-jy7bz There's like 8 mods that cuts down on effects and makes the game easier to run. There's less excuse now. Heck, my laptop would sometimes go into a throwing fit by freezing so hard, I'd be playing the game on a powerpoint presentation for a few seconds. Doesn't do that anymore with the mods on. Why? Because I don't lose FPS by watching shit cause effects, to the 500 flares tossed on the floor, maps aren't cluttered with flora in two biomes. I even have a mod that stops the game from giving those annoying screen shakes or any FPS loss due to fire and ice and electric effects. It's wonderful to actually be able to play the game AND still be able to install some neat mods for funzies.
@@TOBY-jy7bz Actually, they're the worse. Random models moving about barely matters, but effects is what usually kills off even the strongest of laptops. Which is annoying when AAA games value graphics over playability, constantly trying to shove a bukkake of special effects and expecting us to only care about that. And I also would like not to have to downsize my game to HL1 levels of textures to try and play the game, thank you.
I played a point extract on this as scout once. Shooting flares was a waste. Couldn't hit anything but bugs. Killing bugs was a waste, it was better to wait for the engine to overload and despawn a bunch of bugs than to try and kill them. Was tons of fun. Would do again. There was probably 4x the bugs you see in this video. IDK if it's cause we were on 4 players, or how the host had it set. I have a 6750XT playing at 1080p and I wasn't getting above 40 FPS.
Dude, yes. Alien: Fireteam Elite has a card you can play that doubles the amount of basic enemies spawned in. I think DRG could certainly add something like this in the future.
Always wanted a difficulty like this, Haz 5+ numbers with haz 3 HP/DMG/whatnot. sometimes you just wanna shoot a lot of bugs that aren’t juiced up on liquid morkite.
Would've liked to see you try an Extermination mission just to see if the game would try to pop 64 Dreadnoughts out of an egg (COZY EGG that would've been). Also a Dreadnought 'swarm' showing up would've been REAL chaos xD
i once did a haz 3 Starship troopers mission with 2.5x spawns, with half health and damage to counter the massive number of bugs, i had over 4,000 kills and it was solo. best moment in drg history for me.

I was inspired to try this with a bunch of friends and my lord, SO much fun, killing thousands, tens of thousands of bugs in a single mission and it still being challenging! I am so glad to have found this video, and a new fun way of playing Deeprock!

My favorite swarm control setting is 10x bugs, 2x speed , with 1/2x health and 1/2x damage and max'd out enemy variety (minus most types of mactera). An absolute bloodbath
Biomass converter doesn't give you ammo it adds ammo from your reserve into your current "mag", it would allow you to fire constantly but you would still run out of ammo.

Think of it this way: a vanilla, fairly common mactera trio would spawn 3 mactera spawn or maybe 2 spawn and a tri jaw. This mod would spawn 192 mactera spawn from one trio generation.

Honestly, neurotoxin grenades would've been best for the younglings - which, by the way, spawn in trios normally. Which means they spawn in groups of 192.
Watching this made me wish Horde games would allow players to customize the spawns to goofy levels like this. Ghost ship could seriously add something nearly identical to this and it’d feel like a totally new game, although I’m guessing they’d be more concerned about performance from 1000 bugs spawning but still, this would be so fun lol

1 volitile guts
2 Engineer's shard diffracter with the upgrade that gives ammo back on kill
I dont think the diffractor has an overclock that does that
