    I like how she went back to revisit the conversation about clothing accentuating her body. She was able to have a teachable moment without coming off as combative or defensive. Shout out to Ryan Clark too. He drove the point home with the example of his daughter. Over all great interview. Love the Pivot and Taylor Rooks

    • @HomeVidEdd
      @HomeVidEdd 2 года назад +6

      The thing is that if she would've let him finish the question she would've understood more why he was posing the question that why. And plus, almost all of us are wearing clothes that accentuates the good parts of our bodies. She's not sexualizing her body with her clothes nor she is picking outfits that accentuates parts of her body bc those clothes look good. The point she made was one that they all agreed with that she doesn't really have a choice bc of her genetics and God-given figure.

    • @winnumber101
      @winnumber101 2 года назад +10

      Yeah it really wasn't a fair point for Channing to make--like if I'm tall, am I actually wearing clothes that accentuate my height or am I just simply tall and am wearing clothes? the appeal of Taylor already exists regardless, there's not much she can do about that

This is such an amazingly powerful conversation & so relatable, especially as a woman who works with a ton of men just literally trying to do her best and be the best at what she does. It's so inspiring to see her confidence as a woman, even more so as a successful black woman in her line of work. This convo was needed, especially the part about how a black woman's body just automatically changes the way clothes fits her. Channing was allowed to ask the question and he wasn't admonished for not knowing the reason. He learned and in turn we learned. I honestly never thought of it that way until watching this interview, thank you.

    • @HomeVidEdd
      @HomeVidEdd 2 года назад +2

      Honestly, I don't think he learned anything new. She just didn't like his wording even though he was right. Almost all of us are wearing clothes that accentuates the good parts of our bodies. The point she made was one that they all agreed with that she doesn't really have a choice outside of oversized suits or sweatsuits. So basically, he wanted to ask if she feels like it's being more accepted for her to wear clothes that fit. She kinda touched it but didn't really get to that.

      Disclaimer (I’m a black man) I understand what she is saying but at the same time I think she didn’t answer the question correctly. I know where the pivot we’re coming from with the question. We can’t sit here and act like things haven’t changed over the years standards haven’t dropped, morals haven’t dropped, responsibility hasn’t dropped. I remember sweatsuits being semi-baggy attire, nowadays they are skin tight cat/ body suits showing everything. Sweatsuits were reserved for workouts and home wear. Now women try to wear those clothes in professional work spaces and you are the enemy, if you say anything about it. That’s just 1 example I have many I can say

    Taylor is an extremely talented interviewer and entertainment personality. When you watch her sit down with athletes she is truly elite at getting them to dig deep and answer questions about themselves and she gets the most out of all of her sit downs.
    With that said she is also a SUPER baddie and one of the most beautiful women in the industry but she is definitely more then a pretty face, she's legit great at what she does.
