That loaf of bread in your cabinet. Where'd it come from?
Most of us get our bread at the store -- all neatly sliced and wrapped. But think about what it takes to make it. Sunshine and rain...a farmer to till, plant and harvest...a miller to grind the wheat into flour...a chicken for eggs...a cow for milk...a bakery to mix and make, cut and wrap...trucked to a store, put on a shelf...and you buy it. It's a process where each step is dependent on another.
Give us this day our daily bread. It's God's process of taking care of us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And it's dependent on one thing...His Word, the Bread of Life.
