helloo, i'm from Indonesia. Now, im studying guidance and counselling at university (4 years) coz i want to be a teacher of GaC and want to be a counsellor in the future. after i finished my study, i will take a certificate qualification for counsellor with an estimated time of 6 months or 1 year. It's great to be a part of counseling. I'm currently helping a lot with children's problems at school and I'm happy when we can help.
I'm most of the way through a level 3 course and have enjoyed it but even the thought of level 4 is stressing me out. I don't feel as though skills practice with peers has prepared me for seeing three placement clients a week who may have particular issues
Hi, you wouldn't automatically get any accreditation on completion of the qualification alone as each accreditation body has its own entry requirements and application process. The qualification is recognised as appropriate to gain membership of many accreditation bodies though. There are more details on our website here: www.cpcab.co.uk/learners/going-into-practice
Surely you get those 300 hours whilst you're working (having just passed level 4), no? Are they 300 hours of therapy for yourself or 300 hours of giving therapy?
We don't have any recognised training centres in Glasgow that offer our Level 2 or 3 qualifications. Many centres offer fully online training for these qualifications though. Please check our centre finder for details: www.cpcab.co.uk/centre-finder
Hello, courses relating to all the qualifications in this video can be found on the CPCAB website using the Centre Finder: www.cpcab.co.uk/centre-finder
Thank you sir for your all details. Currently i m taking my BA in Applied Psychology, im in 3 rd year i m interested to be a counsellor and i m planning on masters to. I want to know that how to apply for the counsellor license process?
Hello, it depends on which country you wish to practice in. In the UK there is no statutory requirement to obtain any qualifications to start practicing as a counsellor. However, it is widely recognised that obtaining Professional Membership Association accreditation is best practice. More information can be found on our website here: www.cpcab.co.uk/learners/going-into-practice
Hi, it is possible if you have obtained equivalent qualifications to our Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and our Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. This would be assessed by the training centre you wish to study at, who would consider the existing qualifications you have completed.
What is your opinion on studying online only for L2 and L3? I don't have many centers near me, but some are offering online only. I'd rather face to face...
I did both my level 2 and level 3 online and very much enjoyed it and learned a lot. I wouldn't hesitate to do it online, I think the course content is the same online and in person. So if you have no other option, online is still good and worth doing.

Hi there! CPCAB sounds extremely interesting! I'm in the United States. Are CPCAB courses recognized in the USA? If not, do you know of similar programs or offerings? Thanks! :)
Hi, our qualifications are regulated by the UK's Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) so they should be able to be recognised in the USA. We can't comment on offerings in the USA because we only operate in the UK but a good place to start would be too look at professional associations for therapists and counsellors in the USA as they may have information about training options.

1 year ago... how is level 4 going?
Three a week seems a bit excessive! That'd sort you out for you 100 hours in just the first year alone, no?

Why are the fees extremely high to train? Having to pay £30-£80 ph for 300 hours to join the register is such an elitism approach
