I think while 26 gets a free pass, 25 is the worst. Anno basically admitted that 25' (first half of EoE) was the original plan and that what we got was cobbled together using recycled footage and it shows. It's really more of the same as 26 and it actually detracts from 26's impact. I know I pretty much switched off during 26 once I realized it would be much the same as the previous episode. I think folks would be far more accepting of EoTV if it were just 20 minutes and not nearly 50 minutes of random imagery. 14 takes close second for being almost equally pointless.
When I first watched Evangelion, I actually stopped watching partway through episode 25. Anyway, so after a few weeks I managed to drag my way through the last 2 episodes, but couldn't come to a conclusion as to what I would score it out of 10, so I made a spreadsheet and graph in excel, rating each episode out of 10. Like HyperToxBox says, I actually scored episode 26 twice as high as 25, it was that much better. (episode 25 got a 1/10 whereas 26 got a 2/10) If you're wondering, the whole series averaged out to a 6.58, which I rounded to a 7/10. This actually fit my overall opinion of the series, and the vague idea of a score I had before undertaking the project. Oh and Jet Alone got a 6/10. If anyone actually cares for some reason, I can post my scores for all of the episodes so you can insult my shit taste.
Wow I was just thinking about this ep. A relatively minor bit of the episode that you and most people missed is that this episode is the first one that really tells the viewer that Misato isn't a party to the deeper conspiracies inside nerve when she doesn't know that the robot going out of control was intentional sabotage.
Fun fact: jet alone is actually a reference to jet jaguar from the Godzilla series, having a similar color scheme and a mind of its own. Update: no, not the tristar animated series.
Evangelion pays homage to Japanese kaiju-related franchises such as Ultraman and Godzilla, apparently, so the name of Jet Alone was probably given because of that
Jet Jaguar was created by a kid in a contest to have their own character in a movie, the kid submitted a character he called "Red Alone" Toho made "some changes (the entire character was changed)" to turn him into Jet Jaguar So Jet Alone is a combination of both of those names
@@johnbewty Well, in all fairness, Jet Alone was never going to blow up; it was rigged to make it look like it was going to. It is messed up that Ritsuko used Misato, but her life wasn't in any real danger.
I always thought the Jet Alone episode was odd, given how Gendo was willing to put Eva 01 to work for other non-Angel related things. He even congratulates Misato and Shinji at the end of the episode. For once Evas aren't being used to tear giant alien beings limb from limb, destroy 14 year olds' egos and trigger apocalypses.
Well, as Misato noted while inside Jet Alone (and is confirmed by Gendo at the end of the episode), Jet Alone going out of control was a work of sabotage on behalf of NERV. Gendo wanted to flex some muscle and prevent funding from being diverted from NERV. He congratulated Misato and Shinji in order to keep up the ruse.
I marathoned this show when I was 12 and I never even remembered Jet Alone until the second viewing. So when I think of my least favourite episode, it doesn't even register on that list
I felt the same way the first time through the series. On the second viewing, I realized this episode is kind of incredible because we learn that Ritsuko keeps Misato in the dark about the hacking operation and seemingly has no problems letting Misato die. It really makes you think differently about their whole relationship for the rest of the series.
Pretty much this, I remembered Jet alone out of blue one day and it's just that scene of it been pushed back when it's doing that goofy side arm flop and I actually thought it's some random brain fart... till it become clear to me some time later that it actually happened in the show. Still didn't remember it's name till I searched it. Its was also the first time where misato had a truly concrete evidence about NERV's shenanigans, it's a shame that episode is rather lack luster.
I liked this episode because there's something about Jet Alone that I found almost scary. The already mysterious and sinister atmosphere of the show combined with the very retro and inhuman design of Jet Alone was unnerving to me. I could tell by the fact that it was aimed at the control center that it would walk into it. Evangelion does a really good job of making powerful things like the Evas and Angels truly feel massive and powerful. The fact that it was so massive, so inhuman, and completely out of control made it one of the only parts of the show that made me a little uncomfortable. I doubt it was intentional but it's something I felt. At least until Unit 01 came to stop it and it got kinda comical.
I don’t understand why everyone dislikes this episode it’s honestly one of my favorites I like being out side of Tokyo 3 and focusing on ritsuko and misato
We need to see what Shinji's life was like before Asuka crashed into it, episode 7 does that well. I actually like the action arc because we see what happy/confident shinji would be like. I love that Shinji's arc is to be an unconfident person who gets confidence and a place in the world, then has it robbed from him and falls below where he started, it's an unusual arc. It's the first hint that Nerv is not that good an organisation too :p
@@violetsparkles5453 I mean he DOES realize that the reason people talk to him is because of the Eva (thanks a Lot Kensuke), and the fact that the One Time he showed some confidence he got trapped in a nightmare dimension
I appreciate EP7 It's not my favorite, but I really like the episode. How Misato is constantly blockaded by Ritsuko in her attempt to stop Jet Alone, and you only realise why at the end. The whole thing was sabatoge by Gendo. Misato wasn't in on the plan, but Ritsuko was. You know where she belongs in the chain of command. It's pretty neat.
Least great is the blackout episode ''oh an angel is attacking and the power went out'' ''The pilots are here and they shot the angel'' ''Lets never bring up how NERV was completely sabotaged ever again'' FLY ME TO THE MOON
Frankly, Jet Alone should have gotten a TON of resources allocated to it, at the very least as a backup to the Evas. Even a giant, nuclear-powered mecha would still have been MASSIVELY cheaper to produce and operate than an Eva, and even if, say, you only managed to give it a rudimentary AT field, you could just swamp an Angel with numbers until one got through. The Evas are a Tiger II to Jet Alone's Sherman; massively complex, finicky and expensive, but very powerful, vs cheap, reliable, and good enough to get the job done. I would have liked to see a Jet Alone unit go up against an Angel at least once.
Actually the AT-Field requires sentience according to the last angel, he said it's the thing that blocks everyone out of your mind so no JetAlone cannot get an AT-Field
Jet Alone could probably be equipped with something that 'stops' AT Fields from being effective. I imagine it'd be possible for someone in the world of Evangelion to come up with something akin to a 'if it doesn't adhere to the Standard Model of physics, then this will render it useless' type device.
I always thought it was pretty obvious that Jet Alone was meant to be an analogy for more traditional giant robots/mecha shows and it's failure at the end represents the passing of the torch to Eva as the new mecha for the modern times. At least, that's how I saw it.
What failure are talking about/I hear this all the time from Eva fans but I'd bet you'd probably seen little if any Mecha shows outside of evangelion. As for what it actually is, it's a reference like many things in Eva are, to past franchises. In this instance jet alone is a call back to jet Jaguar from Godzilla.
Antony Shannon Jet Alone’s failure at the end of the episode is what I meant and I do watch other mecha shows outside of Evangelion and while obviously not every mecha show became Eva, it still made an impact on the genre and you can still see Jet Alone as a tribute to more traditional mecha.
Fun Fact: Jet Alone is a reference to Jet Jaguar from Godzilla vs. Megalon - its design is directly inspired by the robotic hero, down to the doofy grin, and his name, "Jet Alone," is a combination of JJ's name in the movie, and the original name the character was created with, "Red Alone." Anno is a diehard tokusatsu/kaiju fan, and Eva itself is just as much a send-up of live action Japanese movies as it is of mecha anime.
I recently re-watched the series, I found impressive the details they hid in plain sight. For example, at the begining, in that shot of jet alone's black and orange console, if you pause it, it shows the computer memory of JA and it's partitions, then you can even see that they copied one of the Maggies into a partition, that's how Nerv sabotaged JA, they put a copy of a state-of-the-arc artificial intelligence virus in it
I felt this episode showcased more how petty some of the characters were and how hamstrung people like Misato, Ritsuko and company were in open debate. I'm sure if Ritsuko had been given permission, she would've torn the Jet Alone project manager a third butthole for his arrogance. In fact, I almost feel like she only looked so confident in her initial questions because she was sure they were in the dark on various details. Upon realizing she didn't know how much had been leaked, she felt that she needed to keep quiet. Basically, she was looking for a response that she could troll the crap out of, realized she couldn't without revealing critical secrets and it soured her mood; hence why she and Misato were so grumpy (even if only Misato showed her displeasure).
Though to be fair the managers arrogance was warranted considering without NERVs sabotage of jet jaguar it would have worked and could have been a valuable asset in humanities defense
you are the only channel on youtube who give this anime the respect it deserves with high quality content , what you are doing is amazing you have been able to gather people and create an eva society from people all around the world . just wanted to say that and ask for more consistency with eva news and the new movie coming up thanks and have a great day my friend..
Thanks, there was an obvious lack of regular Evangelion video content, and I thought it would be a great way of sharing my passion for it. Sorry, I meant to keep up to date on news, I am trying to get caught up to the present. Should only take a couple more months. I want very much to keep an unbroken record of Eva developments.
Episode 7 serves a meta-structural role. It's to establish a baseline showing Shinji falling into a normal routine with Misato before the "disruption" in the form of Asuka (and Kaji) arrives. If the episode is banal, it at least had a purpose in being so.
I definitely appreciate this episode more after this. One of the nice things this episode does as well is really add to Ritsuko's characterization. Like you said, it shows NERV's place in the geopolitical landscape. It also shows Ritsuko's place within NERV and starts to show how integral she is to the functioning of everything they do.
You are most welcome. Is your native language something other English, or are you hearing impaired? I hope that's not rude to ask, I manually subtitle/caption my videos to help with those who might be fans in other parts of the world, but accessibility is also important to me.
Eva Monkey You wasn't rude at all , my native languange is portuguese. I like ur content about NGE and ur hard work helps me to inprove my reading and listening ..
One thing i really like about Jet Alone is just how starkly it draws the line between Those Who Know What's Really Going On (Gendo, Ritsuko) and Those Being Kept In The Dark (Misato, Shinji). This dichotomy defines a lot of the goings on at Nerv for the rest of the series and this is the first time it's really spelled out
Ahem, you all fail to see the budding relationship of Shinji and Asuka in magma diver, and how the penis relates to the phallus in Lacanian psychoanalysis, and how Asuka shows off to Shinji, because Shinji is the possesser of the phallus, or the desire, that she wants, figuratively filling the holes in one another. This episode shows that their puts it plain as day Asuka's attraction to Shinji, and that their relationship could have ended up very differently if they were able to get through to one another, if Shinji was willing to open up in these middle episodes. Or something like that, lmao, thermal expansion
When I re watched that episode I was talking a Information Security course. When Shiro Tokita's urgent authorization request crashes with the wall of bureaucracy and procedures I laughed hard because I've been in that situation more than once, albeit with no robot.
Very interesting. I recently watched Evangelion for the first time, and "A Human Work" was one of the episodes that I liked the most. I found the insight into Nerv's place in the world very cool, especially since the one thing I was dying for with Evangelion was more worldbuilding.
Thought this was going to be about defending "Jet Alone" itself.. Instead I got blindsided by the fact that Eva's poop. Seriously, I had to take 3 whole seconds before reacting with a loud "WHAT!?"
assuming the cage fluid is not dilute LCL, the pink color reminds me of cell culture's animal/human cell media. assuming this is a 10% fbs DMEM, I did some quick calculations. guess how many tens of millions of cow feti would be used each filling session...
Since the entire planet’s major bodies of water were turned into this substance tho I’d bet that that is what the Eva cages are full of, albeit maybe with some cow thrown in for good measure XD
they just use the pool of lcl made from the other bio-organic gods in their basement. but lcl is orange, this pink stuff seems like part of the repair process or safety/cooling when working with the evas.
Never thought this episode was bad. Just as you said, It provides much needed context. Always felt that the series would benefit from at last one more "outer NT boundaries" episode.
I’ve watched this video around 7 times now and it keeps reappearing in my recommendations. I once left it on loop for an hour without even noticing it was on loop.
I always loved jet alone, the point about the helicopters was very Interesting though. It's the sort of detail you can miss so easily but that adds depth.
Great video. I've only actually watched through all of Eva once but sometimes I go back and revisit some of it, and episode 7 was one of the ones that I glossed over and considered one of the more boring episodes but this definitely gave me a deeper appreciation for it.
I just got into NGE a month ago. I only had to wait a month for 3.0+1.0 lol while some of you have waited over 20 years lol. I guess I got it coming with the Elder Scrolls 6. Such a long wait as well..
my favorite episode of evangelion is episode 9, the one where asuka and shinji had to play ddr to sync up and fight the angel that can split itself in two
Jet Alone is probably my 2nd favorite non-human being in all Evangelion after EVA-01. The EVA behind the angels' slaughter and the true hero are the best.
I completely agree. I used to hate Jet Alone ep as a kid but I really enjoy it now. I love the fact that there are attempts to replace the Evas and it's boring as hell, just as it would be in reality I would guess hahaha
I loved this episode because we get to see the relationship development between Shinji and Misato. And most of all, the ending to the episode was really wholesome. Sometimes that’s all you need. Just a heartwarming, smiling Shinji.
Something that's also overlooked by this episode is that Misato and Ritsuko are subjected to sexism, despite how capable they are. Gender plays a large part in their anxieties, especially as women are bombarded with the message to have kids and settle down at their age. That they're not only isolated by NERV's special treatment but bigotry too, it makes Ritsuko's sabotage and Misato's courage both much more satisfying (or justifiable, depending on how you look at it). Women still take a lot of flack for their gender in the military and in STEM fields, so it adds a bit of reality to the situation - while NERV is all about pragmatism and who can do the job the best, the rest of society is busy with old fashioned gender politics. Yui, Naoko and Ritsuko were respectively some of the most essential scientists in producing the Evas, but they may have never flourished outside of NERV/Gehirn
If you take into account the fact that Evas hold mothers’ souls even NERV starts to have an ulterior motive for letting women into such high positions of authority and expertise, even if the original theory that an Eva could hold a soul was Yui’s idea. Misato’s position could even be considered planned as Gendo May have calculated that she could become a motherly presence when he inevitably had to summon Shinji to pilot Unit 01. Gendo is just shady and calculating enough that he could very possibly have planned that out too. Such a good character because goddamn, he makes my toes curl.
I do find it unusual that, in a post-apocalyptic setting where half of the world's population is dead, that women were encouraged to follow careers, instead of being encouraged to make babies. Maybe life in Tokyo-3 is different enough that women could enjoy life under the old, prosperity-driven paradigm.
literally the time Shinji says this is to point out how wrong and sexist that idea is, as it is immediately subverted by something Misato does (I forget what she did, I don't remember this episode that well) The point of shinji saying 'a man's place is in combat' is to show how immature and incapable he is when he fails to do things on his own I can't believe you actually missed the point of him saying that
Good point, wrong conclusion based on data, possible inherent bias to your approach. STEM fields largly ARE based around practical application, and who has the best set of skills. Woman often become pregnant, and focus on family-rearing (nothing wrong with that), and there's understandably not time for a demanding career in engineering, research, ect, while they're taking care of children. And if you're going to then say "why can't the males take care of them, then?", Then you'll have to explain their totally freely-made choices, and the maternal instincts that nature gave them to birth and nurture children in the first place.

What, someone didn't let the violent drinker in on the high-stakes heist?
Fun fact: jet alone is actually a reference to jet jaguar from the Godzilla series, having a similar color scheme and a mind of its own.
Update: no, not the tristar animated series.
IT'S GODZILLA
Evangelion pays homage to Japanese kaiju-related franchises such as Ultraman and Godzilla, apparently, so the name of Jet Alone was probably given because of that
Jet Jaguar was created by a kid in a contest to have their own character in a movie, the kid submitted a character he called "Red Alone"
Toho made "some changes (the entire character was changed)" to turn him into Jet Jaguar
So Jet Alone is a combination of both of those names
@@_Rndom it looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws, it is not.
You forget to mention that one of the most important things in this episode is how Ritsuko betrays Misato by letting her go inside the JA beforehand.
Yeah! And then she just goes back to being Misato's "friend" in future episodes. Really shows how cold Ritsuko can be.
She knew nothing would happen to her
@@johnbewty Well, in all fairness, Jet Alone was never going to blow up; it was rigged to make it look like it was going to. It is messed up that Ritsuko used Misato, but her life wasn't in any real danger.
@@Wiccanwolf08 misato almost fell from the top of JA. I suppose that is a life threatening issue
She was Exposed to Radiation, how isn't that dangerous as hell?
He played ja like a damn fiddle
*EVAS ARE JUST TITANS WITH BATTLE ARMOR*
*TITANS ARE JUST EVAS WITHOUT BATTLE ARMOR*
You must be new to the world of anime....
EVA was the prophet to foreshadow AOT long before it became a thing!
Got it backward Titans are just Angels without armor.
Don't forget the mechanicals enjancements.
I honestly think that the main reason people hate this episode is because the Jet Alone looks so shitty
morgana but the way it walks is so good. It has a perfect running form
truegamerking This is the peak of robot performance. You may not like how it looks, but this is how it is
In more ways than one! Jet Jaguar's originally proposed name was "Red Alone".
I'm surprised that this episode is just liked, it's actually the first episode of the show I ever saw. And it's one of my favorites.
jet alone looks cool fuck you
I marathoned this show when I was 12 and I never even remembered Jet Alone until the second viewing. So when I think of my least favourite episode, it doesn't even register on that list
lol same here
I dont ever recal seeimg that mech
I never rember seeing this guy its the mendela effect
Did... did you watch the ending?
He doesn’t have it robbed from him he just gets depressed and fucks shit up as a response.
@@violetsparkles5453 I mean he DOES realize that the reason people talk to him is because of the Eva (thanks a Lot Kensuke), and the fact that the One Time he showed some confidence he got trapped in a nightmare dimension
I appreciate EP7
It's not my favorite, but I really like the episode.
I think the meme is called "Shinji holding a mug"
Yup
I thought it was called the "disappointed shinji" meme
“worst” is the wrong therm, “least great” would have been more appropriate
And even that is not true.
Least great is the blackout episode ''oh an angel is attacking and the power went out'' ''The pilots are here and they shot the angel'' ''Lets never bring up how NERV was completely sabotaged ever again''
FLY ME TO THE MOON
You could also have a group of Jet Alone's help Eva's by distracting/immobilizing or even tanking hits for the Eva to just finish the fight
Yeah , i mean there are many instances where with the help of 2 or 3 jet alone evas could have done more damage and kill angels faster
Actually the AT-Field requires sentience according to the last angel, he said it's the thing that blocks everyone out of your mind so no JetAlone cannot get an AT-Field
well, maybe the jet alone guy fought it's a weapon that can be created. we did not know ourselves up to the very end.
Until you add a human brain to control it. Like the nerve main frame
Bobby Jenkins Hmmm that kinda makes sense. Never looked at it that way.
Jet Alone failure was caused for Nerv's sabotage. XD
Agreed! The fact that it would have worked if not for Nerv, just makes the commentary that much more interesting 💛
FINALLY someone acknowledges the EVAs are cyborgs, god bless you kind sir
Fun Fact: Jet Alone is a reference to Jet Jaguar from Godzilla vs. Megalon - its design is directly inspired by the robotic hero, down to the doofy grin, and his name, "Jet Alone," is a combination of JJ's name in the movie, and the original name the character was created with, "Red Alone."
Anno is a diehard tokusatsu/kaiju fan, and Eva itself is just as much a send-up of live action Japanese movies as it is of mecha anime.
As someone who just finished the series- thank you for helping me have even a bit of understanding of wtf an eva is
You're most welcome.
I always like this episode, because it was such a change of pace from the weekly format up to this point, and carried on thereafter
8:18 Shinji didn't fail, he's just testing the face armor.
This was the episode that gave us the pissed off Shinji meme. Honestly, this episode is actually one of my favorites in NGE
Jet Alone doesn’t require a mentally unstable pilot to function and doesn’t have a super vulnerable cable that renders it useless if it breaks.
Jet alone was one of the most specifically memorable episodes in my book because it showed the power and limits of a robot weapon in this universe.
Misato is the best
Pen pen best girl
I recently re-watched the series, I found impressive the details they hid in plain sight. For example, at the begining, in that shot of jet alone's black and orange console, if you pause it, it shows the computer memory of JA and it's partitions, then you can even see that they copied one of the Maggies into a partition, that's how Nerv sabotaged JA, they put a copy of a state-of-the-arc artificial intelligence virus in it
too bad we never got to see a fully functional Jet Alone working with the Eva units, that'd be a fun bit of "what if?"
8:55 Oh man, I also want to hold a cup of Shinji holding a cup of Shinji holding another cup of Shinji holding a cup!
you forgot one of the best motivational quotes, a call for action "Determined efforts are better than waiting for a miracle! - Misato"
weirdly enough jet alone was one of my favorite episodes in the series when I first watched the series. I even went in completely blind
Though to be fair the managers arrogance was warranted considering without NERVs sabotage of jet jaguar it would have worked and could have been a valuable asset in humanities defense
keep up the videos my friend
I will try my best!
you are the only channel on youtube who give this anime the respect it deserves with high quality content , what you are doing is amazing you have been able to gather people and create an eva society from people all around the world . just wanted to say that and ask for more consistency with eva news and the new movie coming up thanks and have a great day my friend..
Thanks, there was an obvious lack of regular Evangelion video content, and I thought it would be a great way of sharing my passion for it. Sorry, I meant to keep up to date on news, I am trying to get caught up to the present. Should only take a couple more months. I want very much to keep an unbroken record of Eva developments.
this episode gave us the happiest shinji has ever been and the maddest shinji has ever been...
2:19 oh shit!, literally
"Nerv will donwhatever it takes to achieve all its goals"
You know, *sips tea*, this hits differently when you've seen the series and know the end.
me: Look is jet jagua- wait... no it's jet alone
Jet Alone episode gets a pass for me because of Ritsuko rocking that blue outfit.
Ritsuko rocks like hell.
Thx for the subtitles
You are most welcome. Is your native language something other English, or are you hearing impaired? I hope that's not rude to ask, I manually subtitle/caption my videos to help with those who might be fans in other parts of the world, but accessibility is also important to me.
Eva Monkey You wasn't rude at all , my native languange is portuguese. I like ur content about NGE and ur hard work helps me to inprove my reading and listening ..
Eva Monkey I wanted to thank you too for the manual subtitles, I have hard time hearing proper words, so they help a lot! Thank you!
WHAAT Magma Diver is one of my favorites. I love the last scene, with Asuka asking Misato about her scar and Misato telling Asuka to forget the past.
One thing i really like about Jet Alone is just how starkly it draws the line between Those Who Know What's Really Going On (Gendo, Ritsuko) and Those Being Kept In The Dark (Misato, Shinji). This dichotomy defines a lot of the goings on at Nerv for the rest of the series and this is the first time it's really spelled out
I like how evangelion deals with the realistic reaction of a teen having to pilot a mechanical killing machine like drafting a child soldier
Wasn’t aware this episode needed a lawyer but ok.
You have the right to remain Shinji. Anything you whine about or masturbate to can and will be used against you in a court of anime.
youfreakinnerd nice
Thermal expansion? Ick. I always thought it was all about gelatinous fluids and the contraction of ring muscles. Humans are gross.
All Jet Alone needed was Godzilla Earth's electromagnetic shield and a better firewall.
When I re watched that episode I was talking a Information Security course. When Shiro Tokita's urgent authorization request crashes with the wall of bureaucracy and procedures I laughed hard because I've been in that situation more than once, albeit with no robot.
This is the episode that hooked me and its one of the best in the show
NERV = Tesla
Jet Alone = Faraday Future
Shinji= secret touge racer
@@user-ht7yi1hk3j you speak too soon, the season ain't over yet!
@@user-ht7yi1hk3j they wanna make a mecha...
David Castro yes
This aged poorly
Very interesting. I recently watched Evangelion for the first time, and "A Human Work" was one of the episodes that I liked the most. I found the insight into Nerv's place in the world very cool, especially since the one thing I was dying for with Evangelion was more worldbuilding.
Thought this was going to be about defending "Jet Alone" itself.. Instead I got blindsided by the fact that Eva's poop.
Seriously, I had to take 3 whole seconds before reacting with a loud "WHAT!?"
I sincerely liked it. Showing how humans themselves were trying to match the Angels, and how Nerve was sabotaging them.
assuming the cage fluid is not dilute LCL, the pink color reminds me of cell culture's animal/human cell media. assuming this is a 10% fbs DMEM, I did some quick calculations. guess how many tens of millions of cow feti would be used each filling session...
lol, that was random... imagine how expensive it is, especially when you have to add EGF or something like that everytime anew
Since the entire planet’s major bodies of water were turned into this substance tho I’d bet that that is what the Eva cages are full of, albeit maybe with some cow thrown in for good measure XD
probably, but color just looks like Phenol Red, may be a security thing with the show's instant Bakelite too color-wise
I very much doubt that they would have the technology to build bio-organic gods, without having learned how to synthesize LCL in the process, lol
they just use the pool of lcl made from the other bio-organic gods in their basement. but lcl is orange, this pink stuff seems like part of the repair process or safety/cooling when working with the evas.
Never thought this episode was bad. Just as you said, It provides much needed context. Always felt that the series would benefit from at last one more "outer NT boundaries" episode.
Every episode is perfection, fight me.
"A mech suit is even a mecha!"
Ok and what do you think the living evangelions are wearing? Paint?
how do you just keep making great videos? its like what ever you touch turns to gold
My college tuition hard at work. Thanks mom and dad!
Jet Jagu- I mean Alone... yeah definitely not a reference to another giant robot... that can change sizes
Great video. I've only actually watched through all of Eva once but sometimes I go back and revisit some of it, and episode 7 was one of the ones that I glossed over and considered one of the more boring episodes but this definitely gave me a deeper appreciation for it.
I love the 8-bit music in your videos. I didn't realise I needed that until now.
I just got into NGE a month ago. I only had to wait a month for 3.0+1.0 lol while some of you have waited over 20 years lol. I guess I got it coming with the Elder Scrolls 6. Such a long wait as well..
I love how jet alone is a mix of jet jaguar and red alone, both technically the same thing.
>In defense of jet alone
_Doesn't talk about it until past halfway_
diddy_dante it’s called context dumbass.
I always liked this episode.
Plus it's one of the best episode to show what kind of person Misato is.
I love this episode of eva. It does so many thing I like. The most important to me is how we see some of the happenings outside of Tokyo-3.
The final two episodes of Evangelion are perfect and one of the greatest TV endings ever made and you can't change my mind.
Jet alone was the best thing in Eva, fite me.
Carson Ryder Falcon Punch!!!
What is that profile pic lmao
Misato is best thing
LMAOOO IT'S HEERO
Wha?! Just as I thought the video would really start, it ended xD
Nobody:
Eva Monkey: IN DEFENSE OF JET ALONE.
Jokes aside, in the world of EVA Jet Alone project should have gotten way more funding.
it also revealed that NERV isn't humanity protecting agency.
You are such an asset to the fan community for this series. Please keep doing what you are doing!
I love jet alone. He’s such a cute floppy boi.
Magma diver tho, pains me.
A Human Work is a fine episode and this is a fine episode as well.
Magmadiver I at least remembered being in the show...
my favorite episode of evangelion is episode 9, the one where asuka and shinji had to play ddr to sync up and fight the angel that can split itself in two
This video earned you a sub. All hail the Eva geekery
Noice!
I don't even need a video defending Jet Alone. As a new Eva fan I genuinely love him. Best boy just wanted to go for a walk.
All solid insight.
The question is is Jet Alone better or worse than Channel Zero's adaptation of Candle Cove
Jet Alone did nothing wrong. Channel Zero did nothing right.
Wow, I can really tell you're dead srs about this
Jet Alone is probably my 2nd favorite non-human being in all Evangelion after EVA-01.
Yeah that's the best part of this episode
literally the time Shinji says this is to point out how wrong and sexist that idea is, as it is immediately subverted by something Misato does (I forget what she did, I don't remember this episode that well)
The point of shinji saying 'a man's place is in combat' is to show how immature and incapable he is when he fails to do things on his own
I can't believe you actually missed the point of him saying that
Good point, wrong conclusion based on data, possible inherent bias to your approach.
Anyone else think that jet alone was some kind of reference to jet jaguar in any way ? Or id it just me.
Jet alone the only robot in evangelion
I love all the episodes
