@@campinwiththeconfers we usually don't go to campgrounds anymore we try to disperse camp whenever possible state parks around here even too busy and no spacing between sites. I've been using hipcamp a lot this year just to avoid the crowds and not having to see anybody when I go outside to get away from the world
On my list of top 5 campgrounds! We had a view of the bridge, the island and the ferries all day long! Could hear the water lapping the shore all night. Beautiful, well kept campground!
We agree! We will definitely return someday. Glad you were able to get a great site! Thanks for sharing! We really appreciate it! Safe travels to you! - Mike and Shelley
Wow, looks like they have everything you could possibly want at a summer campground on the lake! Great video, thanks for all the detailed info, might have to make plans for that one! Take care, see you this summer! 😊
We camped there for 30 + years with our kids and grandkids . It's a beautiful campground and it's grown so much over the years . The store use to be just a small store with fresh doughnuts every morning and a game room attached . Our oldest daughter got married there. The point where you drove out to the totem pole is where my daughter got married . It was beautiful you good see the bridge the whole time .
That is awesome! What an amazing place for a wedding!! I am so happy we have found this campground and will be visiting many times. Thank you so much for sharing your memories with us! - Mike and Shelley
This is such a great campground! We had a site on the front row too and it's the best place to be. I love the swing by your site! Love the lights on the bridge, how gorgeous!! Can't wait for summer to come back soon!
Awesome! We are even more stoked about going there this summer! Love your new word Shelley, overcasty! The views of the Grand Hotel and the bridge are amazing! We will definitely be bringing the SUP’s. Thanks guys! 😃
Wow this is really an awesome campground!! We are game for anything with beach and water access let alone a view while from your rig. Plus they sell alcohol!!!! That bridge is great we have several.around here reminds us of the one in Astoria but the fact yours is lit up at night is awesome! How do you like the blow up paddleboards we are torn between that or kayak this year. Ron wants just a raft so we can also take a cooler but that takes me back to childhood ugh. Anyway awesome campground one of the best i have seen.
It is a gem and I can’t believe it was our first time here. We have inflatable paddleboards and an inflatable 2 person kayak. I feel like the kayak is more versatile (and I (Shelley) don’t have to paddle 😉) The paddle board on the other hand are fun to just float around on. Mike is good at the stand up part, I need more practice. lol. When you make it over to this part of the country this is a must!
I see you have on a Topsail Island shirt. I used to drive from Ft. Bragg with my roommate, when I was in the Army, to the Top Sail Island pier. It went out at least 500 ft or more. We used to catch 5ft black tip shark just outside the second breakers. We’d cut them into shark steaks and smoked them back on the post. We would take the thin piece of meat above the backbone, and cut it to pinky tip size and catch a cooler full of mullet. We would slice that thin, smoke at a very low temp, maybe 90 degrees, for an hour and make a sashimi and dip it into soy sauce. It was awesome! I haven’t been to Top Sail Island since just before Aug 1990 before I deployed to the first Gulf War (Persian Gulf War) in Kuwait. Its hard to believe that has been 34 years! Great video! Thanks for the memories!
We booked this campground as well as Indigo Bluffs after watching your videos and best of/favorites in 2023. Great videos, super informative. We're excited about the trip it looks really nice! "Stinky Slinky" LOL Love it!
When we were there, we stayed at the Mackinaw City KOA. It wasn’t as expensive as other KOAs. Same with the discount for the ferry and the shuttle stops at the office in the campground.
Believe or not I've moved Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground to the #1 spot on my 📜 of places to visit..You two certainly looked relaxed there and your site was 👁️ popping...I thank you Mrs. Shelley 😂😂..I can't remember 🤔 if anyone has mentioned a Boscoe Stick before..Thanks for the introduction.. Also.. Thank you for the tour and review...Later 👋🏾❤️😊
The dump station is not ment to accept your flex tube. Its designed to take the cap off your dump and just let it rip. Notice the two short water hose at each end to rince the cement as you dump. It's a very fast and effective way to dump. We camp there a handful of times a year!
Interesting, I’ve never a dump like that. Thanks for setting me straight. You are so fortunate to camp there so frequently. We plan to get back one day for sure! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the the time to leave a comment. Safe travels to you! - Mike and Shelley
Usually tent spots gets right on the lake as does no sewer sites, because you usually have to be a certain distance from a water supply to have septic. That is Federal EPA rules.
Wilderness State Park is awesome but honestly, two totally different types of camping. Not a fair comparison. Mackinaw Mill Creek is a beautiful campground and they have the cleanest bathrooms and showers I have ever found.
We camped in July and I think I booked the November or December prior. I really wanted one of those beach front sites so I booked early! It was sooo worth it!
@campinwiththeconfers we are going for 1153. So we can see the bridge. I was wondering if it had a good view the site doesn't show a good picture of view
By far one of our favorite campgrounds! What your criteria for an awesome campground?

Very nice campground. Now we have to go back to Michigan. Thanks for sharing!
Twist your arm, right?? 😂😂
We worked there from May to October of ‘23. Great park. So beautiful. The work-campers/employees work very hard to keep it that way.
Yes the staff were amazing! I’d like a job working there for a summer! Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience with us! - Mike and Shelley
We are full-time work campers now. It's such a great way to get paid and live for free.

That is an amazing campground. We will be visiting that area in 2025. This could be one of our stops. Thanks for sharing.

We tried to get a spot there but it was sold out except smaller rigs, we were right down the street at tee pee . The mill looks like a nice campground
Their reservation system is kind of weird but I would recommend trying to get in there again. It’s worth it!

That makes complete sense! I might have to book both just so I can sleep on the beach. Lol
Now do Wilderness State Park & let me know which one is nicer. 👍🏻
Oh I am now intrigued! I did not know it about this state park you speak of. We will add it to the list now! Thank you! Stay safe! - Mike and Shelley

lol. We were there in July!

What are the rates, please.
We paid $70 a night for our site. They do vary by location and season. We had a prime spot in peak season. Thanks for watching!
What was your site#
We had site 189! Hope you can get it, it’s amazing!
@campinwiththeconfers we are going for 1153. So we can see the bridge. I was wondering if it had a good view the site doesn't show a good picture of view
No thanks it's way to crowded with absolutely no privacy.
It isn’t our normal campground for sure. The location was perfect for the places we wanted to see. The beach site was just a plus for us.
Awesome channel great video keep them up make sure you like and subscribe thank you for your support and
Thanks for watching.
