You should rename your title. At first I thought you were telling people not to waste their time by going to the UP. When the notification comes up it is cut off and you don't see the last sentence of 9 must sees. Almost didn't watch.
Exactly. And to put it simply, any time in the UP is no time wasted. Regardless of what you're doing or where you're at.
As a Yooper..I'm good with this title if it discourages people from coming here. LOL
Sorry about the title. We just really don't want people to "waste their time" with so much to see and do. We absolutely love it there and we do thank the great people in Michigan for sharing it.
I thought the same thing at first. Then I realized you were really saying to plan your trip carefully to avoid wasting time & missing out..
@@GetawayCouple so change the title to Things to not miss in the UP!
As a Michigander, I think we really do have a beautiful state. Lots to see and lots to do.
The Keewenaw Peninsula in the fall is glorious. The vivid golds, reds and oranges of the deciduous trees interspersed with the green of the pine trees with the rocky hills can't be matched.
If you like uninhabited places, remoteness, an over abundance of flora & fauna, historic sites, miles of wild beaches, inland seas, light houses, back peaking, waterfalls, great fishing, solitude, friendly people...this is your vacation heaven. I love the UP.
It is amazing
I love the UP and Muskegon in lower Michigan..Michigan is beautiful no matter where you are ..
I LOVE vids about the U.P.! Being a Yooper and living most of my 68 yrs here, I am always so happy and so warmed by reviews like yours. I love people's reactions to how incredibly beautiful it is here. I feel so blessed to live here. My recommendation? Lake of the Clouds in the western U.P. You HAVE to see it. Incredible. Oh and Brockway Mtn in the Keweenaw Peninsula. The view of Lake Superior from there is just awe-inspiring.
Thanks for the wonderful compliments! We will definitely add those recommends to our list!
@@GetawayCouple ;(
I'm 68 and I've lived here most of my life, too. I thought I knew everyone. LOL
Add the Jampot to your list. It is by Eagle Harbor and it is run by monks. Thimbleberry jam is a must!
YES THIS IS THE BEST JAM AND SAFFRON 🍞 TOAST IS GREAT WITH THIMBLE BERRY JAM. OR SAFFRON BUNS.. . THEY MAKE THE BEST JAM THE MONKS AND ARE SO NICE. I JUST LOVE GOING THERE. THANK YOU FOR THE FONDEST MEMORIES.
CHOW.
Thanks so much guys! This is added to the ever growing list!
@@evalinawarne1337 Yes you do need to try the Thimble Berry Jam. A lot of places sell it.
Swam in the bay years ago and like thimbleberry jam
They have so much more than jam there... I happen to love their fruitcake! The Monks have skills! 👍🏼
You guys are suppose to keep this stuff a secret 😂 Glad you enjoyed yourself.
It's too awesome not to share!
That's OK. They don't know some of the really special places!
No doubt!! We LOVE our relaxed & respectful, extra special place in the U.S. & the word is getting out too much!😝
That title might keep people away.
No doubt another true yooper here the only ones who like to see you tourist are the people who moved here and built tourist traps. Most people i know would prefer the bridge exploded.
I moved to Michigan almost a year ago now and I'm taking my first trip to the UP next week, this video has some great places to see and I am looking forward to my trip. I went out to Lake Michigan a couple of weeks ago for the first time, it's absolutely crazy how massive it is and the water is clear too...it's more like an ocean.
U will be moving soon. People suck in the U.P.
Lived in the U.P. my hole life. You must visit porcupine mountains state park. Keweenaw is pronounced key-we-naw. I’m almost 100% sure I saw you guys on US41 between Marquette and LAnse. I even told my wife I think that was the getaway couple.
Thanks for the tips! You totally may have seen us! Don't worry - we will be back!
2nd the Porcupine Mountains and the Western UP.
Love lake of the clouds.
As a lower Michigan ex-native, I love the upper peninsula. I think your video minimize what the attractions are. For example Mackinac Island with its no power driven vehicles, grand hotel and fort are some of its key attractions you didn't mention. The massiveness of Lake Superior is a surprise to most none locals. The large ships and exciting coast line is a wonder to behold. Marquette, Michigan is one of the most beautiful and fun towns in United States. It deserves mention.
Thanks for sharing! Some of those are on our list for our next visit! Just couldn't do it all in one trip!
Yeah don’t waste your time in UP! We have enough Yuppys coming Up here to Hick Country! Think can run all over with thier SXS an ATVs an Snomobiles! Stay in Troll Country where you belong!
Metro D here. I've only been to the falls. My mom is from there and still have relatives that live there...
We need to get moving...
My mom and I love Marquette! We went there two days in a row this past September when we were on vacation. Huron Mountain Bakery has the best blueberry scones I’ve ever tasted and good coffee. We went to Crisp Point Lighthouse on that trip, and it was much worth the drive.
Pronunciation of "pastie". Funny EVERY time.
🤣
@@GetawayCouple
I grew up on pasties. I eat them with butter, salt and catsup. Some people like them with gravy---😬 yuck ! I don't! Why spoil it with gravy....?
@@lynnkanerva4519 why do you care? Lots of people eat gravy with meat and potatoes, which is what a pasty mainly is.
@@hubster4477
You can eat them ANY WAY YOU LIKE. I don't care how you eat them. I KNOW what they're made of, you don't have to tell me.
BTW, you're not nice.
@@lynnkanerva4519 but you do care, yuck!
I have vacationed 4 times in in the UP, spent two weeks the first time and one week the other 3 times, and I still have not seen everything I want to see yet. The UP is the best fall destination for me, wonderful fall colors.
Oh wow! We definitely know the feeling and will be back!
I'm born and raised in northern Wisconsin and we in WI, have always loved the yoopers. Always remember the trolls live below the bridge.
Hey us Yoopers don't want these trolls up here don't blow our cover 😂😂
🤐 We won't say a word 🤫
For the uninformed, trolls live "below" the bridge (south of the Mac Bridge). I'm a troll and love the U.P. Thanks for the list. Two places on it, and my bucket list, that I'm hitting this summer.
Hey there are some nice yoopers that like us trolls.
UP is beautiful im a troll i spose. Love going there for a few days at a time and find that no yupers have ever refused my money
There's enough room up there for us Trolls! Don't worry........we don't wanna live there 💜✋😎
My daughter and her husband live in Gladstone Michigan in the UP. Love it!
I do, too. Hi.
Another recommendation would be Bond Falls east of US 45 at Paulding MI. For that matter there are a number of Falls in da UP you’ll enjoy eh! Also, you will enjoy da UP Tourist Trap outside of Ishpeming MI on US 41. So happy you two have fallen in love with my home state.
So awesome! Thanks for sharing and we have added to our list of things to see! Thanks for watching!
What about the Paulding light?????
Laughing Whitefish is my favorite UP waterfall.
We just spent 10 days in the up.on a color tour. It was great fun with our family. We did a lot of the same places. We are from Michigan and glad that you enjoyed our home state.
Love it!!
Just in passing the mines of iron ore and copper from the UP and northern WI, we’re a huge factor in the United States winning WWII.
I have loved the UP since I was a kid. Have family there and always make snowmobiling trips there.
Go to Houghton and Handcock too, the old copper mines are there. We used to camp at Lake Independence.
We brought our kayaks with us to Munising in the fall a few years ago. We yaked to the ship wreck bermuda in the bay at grand island. It is not a long kayak trip but definitely worth the trip. The wreck is very visible while in your kayak. Used an underwater camera to get video from my kayak. Fish swimming all around the wreck. It's an incredible kayak trip
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
When you come back to the porkies make sure to stay at Sunday Lake Campground in Wakefield. Indianhead Mountain, Blackjack Mountain, and Powderhorn Mountain are within 10 minutes. We have Copper Peak, North America's largest ski jump. It's just a few miles away in Ironwood. Just past Copper Peak are 5 different waterfalls known as "Black River Falls". They consist of Gorge Falls, Rainbow Falls, Potawatomi Falls, Conglomerate Falls and Sandstone Falls. Just past the falls is Black River Harbor. There's a great walking trail that leads you across Black River via a suspension bridge that leads you to the shore of Lake Superior. Gogebic County has the Iron Belle Bike Trail and over 100 miles of ATV and snowmobile trails. Stop and tour the Stormy Kromer factory in Ironwood and eat at Suffolk Street Eatery. Across the street is Rigoni's bakery where Bob and Paula have been making the best pasties for over 50 years. Come see me in Bessemer at one of the most historic stores in the U.P.! Abelman Clothing and Footwear has been in business since 1887 and has a very nostalgic feeling. ❤
Next time hit up Copper Harbor. Definitely a must-see.
It has been recommended and added! Thank you!
Visit Brockway mountain and the trail called stairway to heaven at Copperharbor.
@@GetawayCouple Mount brockway is a must see
Delightful little burg.
My girlfriend lives in Baraga, Michigan. When I visit, we love to go to the Bishop Baraga Shrine. Alot of history and beautiful views.
Born and raised in Waterford, Oakland County Michigan, we have a BEAUTIFUL state. I am surrounded by lakes, you can't go a half a mile without seeing a lake. Lower Michigan is just as beautiful as the U.P. You need to do the Tunnel of trees in the fall...Dont forget Silver Lk Sand Dunes or Sleeping Bear Dand dunes. This state has so much to offer in beautiful places..loved your video!!
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the recommends! We have so much on our to do list for the state that we can't wait to get back!
Hilarious to see Rae trying to keep it together when Jason says "Not pasty, that's a completely different thing." LOL
🤣🤣🤣
I recommend taking the last trip of the day on the Pictured Rocks. That way the setting sun lights up the cliffs and makes them breathtaking. And while you’re there, drive a few mile to Munising Falls.
When visiting the UP, be sure to have breakfast at the Cedar Street cafe in downtown Manistique. The food is great, the service is fast and friendly, and the jam is homemade. Also try the burgers at Clyde's. They are said to be the best in the UP.
Would always eat there when doing contract electric work at the paper mill.
Clyde's is the best!
Good to know! We have so many recommends for Clyde's now we will make it a must do! Thanks for watching!
Love Clyde's. The Clyde's in St Ignace is the best!!
The chemistry between you both is Adorable , love watching your videos 🙏🙏😍
Thank you so much 🥰
I lived in the Lower part most of my life, but always loved the U.P., it has great places to visit
I totally agree!
We are happy you had an enjoyable visit. We hope you will be back again in the spring.
We don't have all the travels plans lined up yet, but we will definitely be back! Thanks for watching!
I have to agree with the 'change the title' comments. I thought you were going to rip on the UP.
Glad you enjoyed our piece of awesomeness we call The U.P.!
My late husband was born in Holland, Michigan and wanted to take me to the U.P., but never made it. Love watching you guys...❤️
Oh wow! Hope you can make it one day. Thanks for watching!
My wife and I love the up! So beautiful and peaceful ❤️
We agree!
Trenary Toast from Trenary with a cup of coffee, fresh hot pasties, Vollwerts summer sausage, smoked fish from Manleys in St. Ignace and a baked Lake Superior whitefish dinner are the best foods from the UP. YUM!
Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you guys didn't mention any of my spots 😉
Hidden gems?
@@GetawayCouple quite hidden. Like 11 waterfalls in one day hidden.
For real. Stay away! 😂
@@keithulhul7540 you should share the location!!
The Copper Country is NOT pronounced KEW-wen-NAW. It is pronounced KEY-wen-NAW. It's a native American place-name.
Much love to you guys from Michigan!
🥰 Thanks! We really love it!
So glad you enjoyed our UP! My wife and I live in the lower Peninsula and went to the UP 3 times this fall. The Porcupine Mts/Lake of the Clouds were so colorful and beautiful not to mention all the the waterfalls in the area. You mentioned Trenary's cinnamon toast but they also have cherry and a jewish rye bread that is supposed to be excellent! There is also a really neat waterfalls in the lower peninsula called Ocqueoc Falls, Ocqueoc Township, MI that is the only universally accessible falls in the United States. We also have some interesting Wineries and places to visit down here with the Trolls.
Beautiful place! Thanks for the recommends and thanks for watching!
Who would have known?! So many fun destinations.
Lou and Angie
It really is an amazing place!
Thanks for visiting our beautiful state of Michigan!
Our first camping trip ever was at Tahquamenon Falls eons ago. Before we moved Arizona. This is before we were even married. We really wish it was closer so we could get back up there. We left so much of Michigan unexplored.
There is so much to see! Hope you make it back one day!
I got back last Tuesday from 6 wonderful days in da UP, a retirement treat to myself, and I did it the old-fashioned way, camping in a tent 4 of the nights (Twin Lakes State Park, 2 nys @ McLain SP, and 12 Mile Campground near east end of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Came home w/ several Yooperstones.
My 1st color tour ever in that part of Michigan made possible by the delayed B1G Football Season (long-time UM season tics). Loved it so much I may drive back up from W Mich next week with my brother.
One must-see I'll add: Brockway Mtn Drive in the Copper Harbor area, especially while the leaves are at peak color.
It is just a wonderful place! Thanks for the recommendation - added it to our growing list!
Great info. The UP is on my bucket list.
You should go!
There’s a lot to do in the UP! I get there often.
This was such a good episode and made us subscribe! Next time you’re in UP of Michigan there are other things you need to check out... Mackinaw Island Fudge!!! And Mackinaw Island Fudge ice cream!!! So good!!
Well thanks for joining us! We definitely have those on our list for our next visit!
Good places to see for sure... Next time you should add Big bay and thomas rock... Lake of the clouds ontonagon.... Bond falls ... Canyon falls near lanse... As for food I suggest a cudighi... trenary toast is an absolute must.. Pasties are a staple here.. thanks for sharing our beautiful Upper Peninsula!!
Also brockway mountain is beautiful in the keweenaw.. the mine tours in Houghton hancock area.. u may get lucky and find some copper..
Thanks for the tips! Our to do list is already 2 pages long!
Welcome and Glad you had a good time - I'd suggest winter time to get another perspective - also, Copper Harbor, Iron Mountain, Marquette, etc lots of little nooks and crannies, and yes Trenary toast with coffee
Thanks for the tips! Thanks for watching!!
Great video! We're planning a trip to the UP this summer, and appreciated all the tips!
I was a yooper for 2 years. Loved it up there.
Once a yooper always a yooper?
Only way is you moved when you were two years old. Just saying
@@jimsutton9143 Not sure what you mean, Jim. I was there when I was 22-24 years old in 1972-74.
@@GaryNichols50 yoopers are born in the U.P. Is what i mean. Flat landers move to the U.P. And most often leave again.
You also need to go camping at Manitou island
Added to the list! Thanks for watching!
Nice video highlighting some great places to explore. There is so much more!
Beautiful couple. Gorgeous pup. Thanks fir the invite!
Great video! My Finnish family's roots are on the Keweenaw! I remember helping my grandma and aunts cut the potatoes for the pasties! 😁
Pronounced "pass-tee"
Oh that's cool - thanks for sharing!
LOVE Michigan as well, we just got done making a video on Alpena, Michigan and it was beautiful. We did some scuba diving (just Renee and I) in Lake Huron which was really cool. It's amazing how many ship wrecks are out there! Have you guys ever been scuba diving before?? The Great Lakes can get a little cold, but definitely awesome to explore underwater 😃Thanks for sharing you guys, gives us some more ideas of places to go visit next time we are in the area! - Kyle and Renee
We’ve never been scuba diving, that’s awesome! That would be such an awesome way to see the shipwrecks.
Scuba around a shipwreck!?!?
Yes please. Sounds very Jack Sparrow!
The Alpena HS has a Scuba diving class for students.
I love my home state! I'm a Yooper. Lol!
Glad you guys enjoyed it here.
Very cool!
I love Michigan! Such a beautiful state!
We agree!
Looks VERY NICE
It was! Hope you can visit someday!
I would have to add Oswald’s Bear Ranch in Newberry. 🐻
Joyce Barber-Krauss Yes absolutely!
Thanks for the recommend! Our list is out of control 🥰
Getaway Couple- I know right! Michigan is the best, my absolute favorite are is the Lower Peninsula West, Manistee River, and forest! Did you know that the Lower Peninsula people are Trolls, because they live under the bridge! 😃
I have a funny story about that place. This was over 10 years ago. The owner (an older gentleman) wanted us to meet a pair of cubs. As soon as he let us in their enclosure they immediately came to us sucking on our arms and fingers. They were strong and practically knocked me over. It didn't hurt, but they mauled me all over with their dirty paws to the point they were pulling my v-neck shirt lower and lower. The older man stood outside the pen laughing gleefully enjoying the show! I think he set us up and it made me wonder how many times he pulled that with people. Afterwards I realized my favorite shirt was ruined from all the mud they got on me. But when I looked at my photos I saw I had a perfectly timed photo of a cub smacking my then husband in the family jewels and his face that followed. I still laugh when I think of it (sorry men)! 😂😂😂
@@Freds_mom Too funny 😂! My granddaughters got to get in an enclosure to bottle feed orphaned bAby bears. Once in a lifetime opportunity.
So many beautiful areas in the UP!!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the UP!
We did - thanks for watching!
Next time in the UP, I recommend going to the old opera house called The Calumet Theater for a live performance.
Added to the growing list! Thanks!
@@GetawayCouple And go to Shutes, it is next door to the theater, a beautiful and historic bar.
I grew up just outside Detroit and the UP was always a favorite. When we lived in Los Angeles we took our old winnebago across the country and I took the family through the UP. Were full time now and went through Michigan this year. We didn't have much time in the UP but stayed near Munising. We went to Whitefish Point, Newberry, Grand Marais and took the pictured rocks boat tour as you suggested in another video. You didn't mention Macinac fudge. We then went West through the Dakota's and are now on our way slowly to Ft Meyers Florida for our second winter. Many other stories to tell from Michigan but not now.
Fantastic memories and now fulltiming! Congrats! We do ❤️ Michigan! Safe travels!
@@GetawayCouple Next time go up the west coast. South Haven, Saugatuck we liked Lucky Lake Campground and go to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. So much to do and see in Michigan.
As a kid our family did the boat tour of soo locks. I’ll always remember it as one of the best naps I ever had.
Ah the memories! 😂
Me also. Lol
I love the UP & you captured key highlights while mentioning that there is so MUCH more to experience. I am looking forward to returning to it.
Awesome! We really like it there. Thank you for watching!
In the early 80's while in the Air Force I received orders to K.I. Sawyer AFB south of Marquette. Not to far after we crossed the bridge we saw of big sign "Pasties sold here". Drove a little further another sign "Pasties sold here" Yes we were thinking the same as Jason. Man they must have a lot of "Gentlemen clubs" here. There were signs throughout our entire journey . Guess it must be the long winters. Finally arrived at the base. One of the very first questions I asked my new boss was what's with all the "Pasties" signs. He chuckled and explained the correct pronunciation of the word and what it was. Seems every Upper newbie reads the same thing. Also Did you get your "Say ya to da U.P. eh" sticker?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 How many people probably think that at first??? 🤣
Did you know a Bill stevens that worked as a firefighter at KI drying that time.
@@mestevens5756 Doesn't ring a bell
Too bad you didn't get to visit the Lower and smaller Tahquamenon Falls. During the warmer months, you can get right in the falls and let the water pour over you.
Near by Tahquamenon Falls, in Newberry is Oswald's Bear Ranch. Rescued bears are visible from around their enclosure and from rased platforms. You can pay extra and have a picture with a bear cub.
Awesome recommendations! Thank you!
We can’t wait to visit the UP and make our own video. We’re going to follow a lot of your recommendations. Thanks for sharing.
Have fun! It's a great place!
Copper Harbor is another beautiful spot in the UP! We spend a lot of time in the upper. McLain State Park is so nice! Oswald's Bear Ranch in Newberry is so fun too! As well as The Deer Ranch in St. Ignace!! Hope you guys are able to spend more time exploring our great state!!! Lots of beauty and fun places in the lower too!!
Thanks for the tips! We can't wait to get back. Thanks so much for watching!
Visit in January. A whole different experience.
That is a good thought! We will have to see what the travels plans have in store for us. Thanks for watching!
@@GetawayCouple Just kidding. I live in mid- Michigan and I avoid the UP in winter!
I love the UP in winter. Downhill and cross country skiing are wonderful.
@@johnr7846 Absolutely! Snowmobile racing also. But these days getting their for me is difficult. Would love to spend a few days there in mid winter! But probably not hauling a large camper
Crisp point lighthouse is beautiful and secluded you would love it , look it up and check out the details.
Added! Thanks for the recommend!
From what I understand you need 4wd to get in there.
2 wheel drive is fine, however 9 times out of 10 the road north of 123 to little lake harbor is terrible. Just washboard rough and wet if it rains but passable.
@@GetawayCoupleNasty drive. Don't do it.
The UP is life changing. Such a gem!!!
So glad we found your channel. We have not been to Michigan so we really appreciate you sharing the UP spots with us. Pictured Rocks is gorgeous. And Porcupine Mountains-wow. "Where we became models"...LOL "Pronounce it correctly...that's a complete different thing." LOL!! We are new subscribers! Thanks for having us.
Welcome to the Getaway Gang! Thanks for watching and subscibing!
I am from the Keweenaw area (It is also pronounced KEE-win-naw, NOT key-we-naw as someone in the comments said. Your pronunciation of the area seemed correct by me.)
I suggest that you head up to Copper Harbor especially if you ever return in the fall. There's a place called Brockway Mountain, you are able to easily see the colors from there. I also suggest that you go and see the Calumet Theatre, the interior design of the building is quite beautiful.
Thanks for the pronounciation confirmation! We have added those destinations to our list!
In Calumet
We dont want new people stop promotong this place..lol
😂 LOL - We can't help it since we loved it so much!
Great video. Been to the UP once but looking to visit again now with our TT.
Please do! There is so much to see! Safe travels!
Thank you for this. When researching a trip to Michigan, we found your video and found it so helpful! Another RUclipsr suggested that you get a Michigan State Park pass for discounts which we will definitely do.
So glad it helped you! We truly loved it there and can't wait to go back. The state park pass is probably a great suggestion. We will also look into that. Have a wonderful trip!
Please stop telling everyone about Michigan and particularly the Upper Peninsula. Why do you think its still nice? Do videos on Disney World or something, the alphabet crowd and other "I have a cause" protestors have already destroyed. Save something for the rest of us, PLEASE!
So you didn't go to one of your own Must See places? Probably can't put it in your video then. Porcupine Mountains are definitely worth it, too.
We have a growing list for sure! We will plan for a longer visit!
Glad you enjoyed my state! I love living in Michigan! The National Forests are beautiful, also!
It really is!
Great info! I'm planning an excursion to Michigan including the UP soon. Thanks!
yoopers!
Gotta love them!
The UP is awesome. Great place to kayak clear streams an they have rest areas on their lake an stream areas.
Yes they are! Can't wait to get back!!
I moved away from the Yoop four years ago because I just couldn't handle the winters there anymore but I miss it all the time. Thanks for sharing your trip. Also if you do go back you need to try the Cudaghi sandwich if you haven't already. Very tasty! ❤
Sounds great! We heard that from someone else too! Glad you enjoyed watching, thanks so much!
happy you enjoyed the yoop
Ah Sault Sainte Marie, my old stomping grounds.
Love it!
Love living and traveling around Michigan. You have shared our best kept secrets.
Those are always the best!
What are some other beautiful places in Michigan that you suggest visiting?
Cool places to visit 😁 Thank you for the time and effort it took to share with us! 👍🏻
Our pleasure!
Excellent tips! We are bringing a few Detroit youth groups up to U.P. and this definitely helped plan our trip.
Oh glad to hear it - enjoy!!
Awesome video! Thanks for the guidance. We're headed to Sault Ste. Marie here soon.
Glad it was helpful! So much to see and do! Enjoy!
Glad you enjoyed! Never tell a soul!
Absolutely!! Not a soul! 🤫🤐 Thanks for watching!
Being originally from just outside of Detroit , I have never been to the UP . I have been to a lot of places in the LP, my favorite being Traverse City and the Old Mission Peninsula. The UP is on my bucket list for sure. Thanks for this video
Just discovered y'all! Checking out your videos now. We loved Macanac (Mackanaw) Island and the UP! Glad to see you discovered the Chuckwagon (who also prepares a killer breakfast (if you can get in!) and "Pasties!". If you have not done the Henry Ford Museum and "Greenfield"! AWESOME!!! (located in lower P)
Welcome and thanks so much for checking it out! We love the UP and hope to return soon!
Hope you got some fudge on the island ! So glad you enjoyed your time in our state and hope you get to come back soon. Keep up the videos
We did try some, delicious! Thanks for watching!
I know this video has some age , but Bond falls is a must see, the park is beautiful. Another stop is "Lake of the Clouds" this is going on my 3rd year traveling in the U.P. and I just can't get enough. The colors of the rocks along superior on the east side is unreal. Personally this year we are checking out the abandoned copper mine areas along the Keweenaw. Safe travels everyone.
I enjoy watching the two of you, you guys are great. You guys make great videos every time. Thank you so much for sharing. Stay safe and God Bless you in your travels.
Awesome! Thank you! Safe wishes to you as well.
Whitefish bay is gorgeous in the winter. Grab a bite to eat at Paradise Cafe. I was born in the UP, near Kitchikipi and visit often. When I was a kid it was a mud path and board on a cable to pull the ferry that was on barrels.
So I just watched this with my GF.
Not sure if you’ll see this comment, but last year we took a two week trip from NH to the UP to see her daughter. Favorite food spot HANDS DOWN for us was the Swedish Pantry in Escanaba, MI. Plus just a short trip down was I believe Lake Michigan with some cool little historic buildings to look at.
Thanks for the recommendations. We have done Mackinac Island and Kitch-iti-kipi but not the others so we we added it to our list of "Next Time". Safe travels. KennyandCandy's Travels
Our list has definitely grown! Enjoy when you get back there!
