In Poland they have the last standing oldest woods that has not been burn down in war it's a big chunk of Poland.

I was the first female bartender in the Douglass House Saloon in 1972. Hired by Bob Melia also known as Bobby Good Guy. This was his anchor name when he hosted an a.m. radio program broadcasted out of the Douglass House. I was in all of the beauty of this beautiful building and also the diversity of a wonderful characters that came in and out of the bar. The original mirror behind the bar was one solid piece of glass that ran the entire length of the bar. Unfortunately a college student decided to throw his beer mug Into the lengthy mirror and it had to be replaced with panels of glass mirrors.🪞 Armando Vinelli was the manager of the Douglas House. He was an Admiral in the Naval Reserves. After leaving the UP I joined the Navy WAVES 🧜‍♀️. I miss the Houghton Hancock area. I miss the beautiful snowfalls. It is truly God's country. Hello Uppers!

The best hunting and fishing one could ever want. I worked all over the upper as logging and pulping were the primary sources of income up there.
