I travel around the country, and I have a friend that lives in Escanaba. That restaurant owner is right. Everyone's accepted. I have never felt so at home after visiting. I couldn't have said it better myself. He hit the nail on the head.
My wife and I saw the play "Escanaba In The Moonlight" in our home town of Fairbanks, AK. We both knew that some day we had to go to Escanaba. In the early summer of 2017 we went to a friend's wedding in Minneapolis and then drove over to Milwaukee. I then told my wife that we were not that far away from the U.P. and Escanaba and that I wanted to go to a bar and grill there - Cat-man-do's. So we had drinks and dinner at Cat-Man-Do's and breakfast at Rosy's Diner. My wife still has her Rosy's T-shirt and I still have my Cat-man-do's T-shirt.
Very nice episode of Escanaba(Esky). I'm so glad the host even pronounced the name right. The Stonehouse is by the far the best restaurant in town. I highly recommend going there if you are passing through. Thank you for showing our town in a beautiful light :)
For that matter, the reception for my wedding was at the House of Ludington, and I have this vivid memory of a whole crowd of my college friends sort of encamped in the lobby, hearing the owners talking about the weird unexplained things that have happened in the rooms there that folks chalked up to ghosts...
before smoking was outlawed Rosy from Rosies diner would smoke ciggerates and cook breakfeast never flick and the ashes would mix with your sausage and eggs
For a few years, I wanted very badly to make a movie called "Escanaba In the Daylight," which was going to be an exposé of sorts about all the things that Jeff Daniels got wrong, but who's got the time?
Kurt Kauffman Thats so funny. I just moved from Port Charlotte fl 30 min south of Bradenton Fl to Ceder River 30 min south of Escanaba mi.....Il let you know how things are up here if you do the same.lol COLD!!!!!!SNOW!!!!!! HERE!

Like the part where hes climbing a cliff in pictured rocks
That’s a beautiful dyed mustache.

I grew up in esky. Now I'm in a small town in Washington called Napavine. I miss esky
What about the buck inn and drifters. The stone house is good for the special occasions but those are the places for the everyday home food.
The owners of Drifters are terrible
