    What started out as a trip to Heybridge Basin turned into a Vlog. Not fantastic weather for biking but still nice to get out. Plans for Arnhem September. Up Date on my tyres and should I get rid of my 1250 GSA?

    I’ll take your weather over our 95F/35C! Riding in the mountains is great but I miss the smell of a cool, damp day at the sea. If the bike is doing well, maybe hold on to it? Mine will be 3 in March - I figure if I will keep it (and I love it) it’s cheaper to buy an extended warranty for a couple more years than a new bike with as-yet unproven design. Quite the bit of handiwork on that post box topper. Looking forward to your trek in September if you decide to record it 👍

    Don't you just love the British weather. I can understand you hanging onto the 1250. It's a very difficult bike to better. We're hanging onto our bikes while they remain reliable.
    The coffee stop looked lovely. That post box capper looked amazing. Some very talented people with knitting needles.

    Greetings from N.I. just heard at the last of the Vlog after i made the first comment , it would be very interesting to see your Arnhem vlog as my Father was on the first wave of landing craft to hit Juno beach on D- day, and I traced his movements on his journey. Regards Robert

      I hope I find you well in N.I. I was in Normandy last year. I can’t even begin to imagine what your Dad and his comrades went through. I am not smart enough to tell the hole story. So I thought focusing on one man’s journey would be the best way. Thank you for your visit to my channel. 😁👍

      @@the_mad_leprechaun I didn't know a lot till my Dad was formally presented with the Légion d'honneur , a citation was read out and me and my older brother looked at each other and went ! is this our dad he's talking about !!!!. Going back to Juno beach this sept where i spread his ashes at his request few years back to be with his comrades. PS He was a Royal navy gunner on the first wave of landing craft. Robert

    Not wishing to piss on your chips but having had a few of these I would now not be given one !! Sounds like you are the lucky one ?? I simply can not afford to run one with £190 per hour servicing costs and parts that are stupid prices .. I now ride a Benelli T.R.K. 502 and find it apart from the power to be every bit as good for less than half the price but the power is more than enough !! Anyway good luck with the bike if you are happy that's all that really matters !!

    These things are fine, if you are able to afford the high cost of parts and service costs, for many everyday Joe's it's cost efficiency which is a large part of the ownership point, especially right now with the current world situation.

      In the 3 years I have owned the bike I haven’t been shocked or overwhelmed by running costs. The rumour about the value clearance was just that. A rumour. Like you said Kevin it all depends if you are able to afford it. Take care. Murt 👍

    do you find the GSA more comfortable because the seats are different from the R1250 GS standard. ??

    • @the_mad_leprechaun
      @the_mad_leprechaun  3 месяца назад

      I had a 1200 Rallye so not sure about the 1250 standard. The GSA Has a bit more room for both of us.

      @@the_mad_leprechaun thats interesting as the seats fit both bikes as in the same space, I find the standard gs seat very uncomfortable and the GSA a good bit better.
