The Bitter Tears Of Petra Von Kant is superb. I'm not a huge Fassbinder fan particularly even though I don't dislike any of his films pe se but The Bitter Tears Of Petra Von Kant is a masterpiece. One of those films that are shot entirely in one location too. Glad to see you grab Walkabout too, one of the movies I've seen the most times in my life from my favourite director. You won't regret it.
You're going to love Wings of Desire. When I started buying criterion it was one I got early on in my collection and I had definitely loved watching foreign cinema before seeing it, but afterwards it really sparked going out of my way to discover more films that I normally wouldn't have sought after to watch. It's one of those films that you can call beautiful in every way. It's humorous, it's contemplative, sad, and endearing to boot.
Wings of Desire is amazing! One of my top three films of all time. I jumped when you decided to pick it up at the end. I have the vhs. I definitely need the 4k now.
Loose discs are almost always fine. I’ll buy if only one and just open after buying right at checkout and if it’s actually scratched return right away. No big deal.
Gen is the Jean Renoir of Criterion haul directors.

The Kid is Chaplin's best film in my opinion. Safety Last and The Freshman are also incredible Harold Lloyd films

El norte is Amazing
His name is pronounced like "Rogue" not "Row Egg"
cool af
Wouldn’t it be great if the videographer occasionally allowed the camera to rest on something…like a DVD cover, for example?
Moonlight is so overrated as is Barry Jenkins
Couldn’t disagree more. I think Moonlight is one of the best films ever made. Incredibly powerful and tragic film.
obviously you haven't seen Moonlight because its one of the best films ever made.
