I love how even though we haven’t talked in a minute, you still always remember to bring up Fail Safe and I thank you for that! Way more people need to see that film! Great haul btw!
Happy to see you Criterion hunting again! I just re-watched all your old hunts. Bringing Up Baby is so good, top five Criterion for me. You need to watch Baron Munchausen! I grew up watching it, and it still holds up. Such a good film!
love that shirt Blaire, saw them Saturday live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Smashing Pumpkins are freakin awesome. The preshow was by Interpol. Always enjoy the videos!
One title I see not many people mention is Medium Cool from Haskell Wexler. Incredible movie that uses real footage from the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Give that one some love!
I have been watching B&N Criterion Collection videos all week and this is the first video that got me to subscribe to a channel. Looking forward to checking out your other videos.
@@customsforthekid wow I feel so honored. Really glad you enjoyed the video. I have a playlist full of all the haul videos! But most of my content are film reviews and analysis type stuff. Hope you enjoy the channel and welcome to the kinolord family
Picked up Take Out and Rushmore so far. So glad to see Wanda getting love lately. So great! Just watched In A Lonely Place and To Die For today and loved them both. Would recommend! Love the videos, keep up the work!
Hoping to see a few more of these during the month! Still Walking comes with a high recommendation. It’s a slow burn a modern take on Ozu’s Tokyo Story.
Amazing haul crew! I Love Blaire's Smashing Pumpkins t shirt. Great band. Amazing album. Kes is actually really hard to come by in stores. I highly recommend checking that out. Excellent film. I know how much y'all love All that Heaven Allows. Please consider checking The Magnificent Obsession.
Bottle Rocket is Wes' weakest film but it's still pretty good. Overall a great selection of films. I hope to find a Barnes and Nobles while I'm on vacation. If not, hopefully we can meet up again later this month. I really want to get Farewell My Concubine, Perfect Days, Anatomy of a Fall, I Am Cuba, and Black God White Devil.
Still Walking is amazing but not Kore era’s best…. but absolutely worth the blind buy. Criterion does have his best film which is After Life… that is THE BEST criterion movie I’ve seen. Both films need more recognition.
Re The Virgin Suicides, is it "suburban white girl" specifically or any suburban girl? What if they were black or Asian? Would you care then? It comes across to me as narrow minded at the very least. Isn't it interesting to perceive reality through the lens of someone completely different than yourself?
@@iamwoteveriwanttobe I was kinda being intentionally narrow there as more of a joke than actually sincere. My real issue with the movie is bland presentation and writing that doesn’t do a good job at compelling an outsider like me. Cooper Raiff director of Shithouse and Cha Cha Real Smooth also explores the life of suburban young adults in his movies but does a much better job at pulling in an outsider like me into its charm and into its emotional core.
@@TheMisfitPond Thanks for the more detailed explanation. Obviously I didn't pick up on it being a joke. I watched this film also not being a suburban white girl, and agree with you. I gave it a 2.5 out 5.
I agree with you heavy on both 8 1/2 and crash. Especially crash I went into that movie expecting so much, but I really didn’t like that movie. One of the criterion’s I retreat buying tbh
First off, love the Palestine bracelet! V happy to see Blaire bought the Chantal Akerman boxset already, one of my favorite directors. I already own the Chantal Akerman In the 70s Eclipse set but might have to upgrade in this sale. Also love the Wanda pickup, one of my favorite films in the entire collection. I feel like these don't get much attention from RUclipsrs, so that was a pleasant surprise. And All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is an excellent radical documentary, great pickup!
@@LinouGertz thank you so much! Glad you enjoy these videos! And of course! we’d love to have you in the server! To get the access link you have to be a $5 patron though 😶

Koreada’s Still Walking is incredible! Such a beautiful and authentic family drama.
I've seen this video three times because I can't buy Criterions until I get paid Friday, so I live through your videos. haha
Waiting for that Perfect Days Criterion in July! My favorite movie of last year!
So excited to buy that beautiful film ❤️ 🌳 🍃
Me too!!
Better than Paris, Texas, or Wings of Desire??? I haven’t seen Perfect Days yet.
@@brandonrobertkersjes I wouldn’t say it’s better than Paris Texas. Haven’t seen Wings of Desire
@@brandonrobertkersjes Idk if it surpasses those masterpieces but it’s VERY close

Unreal selection at this store! Always love Criterion season. I blind bought To Die For the other day and loved it! I can’t wait to pick up some more.

Of course dude! That was an excellent request! I honestly should’ve remembered to shout you out when I mentioned it.
I always look forward to your long criterion shopping/haul videos. Thanks for keeping this b&n tradition going.
My modest little haul this weekend: Carnival of Souls, Being John Malkovich, Erasherhead, Lost Highway, The Piano Teacher, Y Tu Mama Tambien
My prayers were answered, love the Criterion Hauls ❤😊
Thank you so much Mikey!
I am going to that location of B&N tomorrow, so I hope you left a few things for the rest of us!
