Someone should edit the poster of GoodFellas so it shows you, Blaire, and Perry at the top and Barnes and Noble at the bottom. Call it CriterionFellas.
since u said u loved Perfect Days, u HAVE TO SEE Jim Jarmusch's Paterson. That film is an umambiguous masterpiece and it has a similar geist to Perfect Days. Thank you for the video!
Just started collecting Croterion films this year, and I got a respectable haul this month. I've only seen the excellent 2004 Denzel Washington remake of Manchurian Candidate, but I've heard great things about the original. Definitely need to see that one in particular. Princess Bride is a classic. It's surprisingly funny too. Way more quotable than it has any right to be. Good recommendations. I'll have to check out some of these.
"Night on Earth" is my favourite Jarmush. It's fun compilation of short stories all happening during the taxi rides. Very similar to his (also great) "Coffee and Cigarettes".
My B & N just started carrying a very (VERY) limited selection, but I was able to pick up Risky Business, Blood Simple, and Afire. I was going to pick up Pat Garrett but there’s a big price jump from blu ray to 4K, which meant it was $35. It would be a blind buy so I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy it this time.
Glad you found some good films this round! I'll have to check out Weekend! Bringing Up Baby is one of my favorites. Happy you picked that up! Also is Gen reading Chobits? I love that anime haha
@@Dmfriend26 YES she loves Chobits! She grew up with it and we were actually able to find a nice 20th anniversary edition of the first few volumes! So I bought it for her!
Awesome picks guys! The Apu trilogy, Manchurian Candidate, and Princess Bride are all must watches. Also if this is your last in-store haul of the month, just want to say sorry that I couldn't make it this month due to scheduling. Hopefully in November I can make it.
To Die For is one of those movies that is based on a novel, based on real events which always kind of struck me as odd. It's like the Law And Order series where they real murders and make them bonkers. It's one of those things I like and don't like, because in the end we get the great To Die For and then we also get Blonde...
I remember seeing Night on Earth a couple years ago and loving it. But honestly, you've given me an idea on a different Jarmusch film that I could do a $50 Patron request for you 🤔🤐
always love these haul videos. some thoughts; Andrew Haigh might just be the UK's answer to Bergman. Weekend is really good. Silence of the Lambs is good from what i remember, but it's deeply transphobic so i havent revisited it in years, but I want to watch it again because of the Longlegs hype. i noticed werckmeister harmonies in the corner there. i strongly recommend it because imo it's Tarr's true masterpiece - that release also comes with his first film Family Nest. I'm considering importing it but there are rumours Curzon are putting out a complete set of his works soon.

3:25 shout out to the camera girl. I care about what you're saying. Let's get a video where she's talking about her favorite Criterions.
Dead Man is badass.
Edit -💐 Happy Birthday Jen! 💐
Happy birthday Jen!
To Die For so real it’s disturbing. Kidman really at her best.
The scene where her sister in law is bragging about her skating was gold. Jealousy all over her face, one of her only real emotions in the movie.
My favorite Jarmusch films are Broken Flowers and Only Lovers Left Alive. Neither are in the CC but definitely worth tracking down.
Happy birthday Jen 🙂

Very cool. Gonna try my best to check it out before the month ends. That and Paterson
Rad shirt! Really awesome. Ray's films really resonate with me
Breaking the waves! That recently went out of print and your hands hovered over it lol
@@jingoolaes8676 we own breaking the waves already luckily! Had no idea it went out of print. Mine’s still sealed and everything.
Erik!!!!!🤗 Happy birthday Jen🎂🎈🎉

@@TheMisfitPond Nice, that's awesome! That edition is so pretty, it's 4 books long if you want to seek out the rest of the series. 😁
Glad you got Perfect Days! Koji Yakusho is maybe my favourite modern Japanese actor

That early scene where you think she’s not yet corrupted and she readily gives herself to a slime dog.
Even when my Barnes and Noble says they have Perfect Days 4k, they don't.
Night on Earth is OK but my favorite film by him is Mystery Train.

JUSTICE FOR JEN
I picked up also I am Cuba but in Blu-ray edition! Peeping Tom and Eric Rohmer’s Tales of the four Seasons also.
Sweet video as always! Night on Earth and Down by Law are great I think you should check those two out next..
Came to the comments to say this exactly! 👍
Great minds think alike! 😆
Are y'all in/around ATL? This looks like the B&N at West Cobb; is it??!
@@joshbusby47 indeed it is!! 😉
The Last Picture Show is the best Film you picked up on this trip (other than The Princess Bride) and you put it back.
@@mikedbigame3398 😈
You should pick up Election, one of my favorite movies. Also pick up The Sword of Doom.
discord meetup irl 🔥
Da haul is hauling, happy birthday
Nice haul! Have you guys seen the 4Hour Epic from Wim Wenders "Until The End of The World." 🌎🐧🍏🍎💙
I have not seen that yet. I really dug everything from Wenders so far. One of these days I gotta dedicate a day to it
@@TheMisfitPond It's long but beautifully shot and has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard imo. 🐧🍏💙🍎
45 Years actually IS a Criterion release!
@@slimnave4846 I KNOW I WANT IT SO BAD! I was really hoping I’d get lucky again and find it like I did weekend. But my luck ran out with weekend lol
Happy Birthday... also Night on Earth is fucking awesome.
Why the Hell didn't you pick up Army of Shadows, it's right there?!
What film were you talking about that was like Gummo that you were not the biggest fan of? I couldn't undertanad what you were saying. Try as I might.
Oh! That would be ‘La Ciénaga’
Thank you@@TheMisfitPond
I own Big city is amazing
Ugh I really wanted to buy that. That would’ve been a must buy if any store in my state had it in stock
Don't curse at the DVD'S, it's the only way in my country i can see foreign films
Can’t take the Mr Klein slander 😢
I am so sorry Jayda 😭
Applaud your brave pro-mom stance!
I now need a conservatorship like Britney Spears in order to save my wallet from The Criterion Collection.
I don't understand why you still have blind spots. Shouldn't you have seen every great film by now, especially since there aren't many great ones?
