Using snapshots of the spearhead boxes may have seemed fine and probably took a minute, but try looking at the rankings at the 18 minute mark. It's very very difficult to parse out which faction is which.
Any chance you can provide your list as a download image? It's hard to read even in hi-res. I am excited about Spearhead - I think it will be a great way to get people into the game! I think I'd rather get a bunch of different spearheads than one 2000pt army.
Also, glad to hear the Lumineth box is good. I'm tempted to get one of those just because their units are so beautiful and I found a gorgeous translucent painting tutorial for the Scinari Cathallar.
Agreed. We just played Skaven VS Gloomspite Gitz and we managed to lock down the Canon in melee as soon as Turn 1 with a massive Squig charge. Same for the Stormfiends with a unit of Goblins (that got Swifly erased by said Stormfiends unfortunately
I just had my first game of Spearhead last night, with my completed Sylvaneth box (1 Branchwych [general], 1 Treelord, 3 Kurnoth Hunters with Greatbows, 5 Tree-Revenants). Absolutely loved the game mode and the way the army plays.
@@gabeperras3711 The teleport-out-of-combat isn't a guarantee. I've rolled a disproportionately high number of 1s when trying to rescue a trapped unit. Likewise when trying to use some of the heal and resurrect spells. Remaining near terrain has been the most reliable healing solution for me. Still, though, fun box and I'm looking into experimenting with others as well. I'm also looking at Flesh-Eater Courts.
been waiting to get into aos and this seems like a great opportunity, the only problem is that all the teams look absolutely incredible and fun to play! How on earth do I pick
Almost won a Spearhead tournament with the Nighthaunts. Beat Sylvaneth and Seraphon for sure (forgot others) Lost to skaven due to the Twist card that my opponent picks a unit and that unit cant use a ward save, so my 4+ ward on my Hero was negated and it was exacties on me failing saves. otherwise I would have won the tournament.
Loving the debate in these comments around Seraphon. Ive found them to be S tier, the boss can litterally just "eat" most non monster models at the start of the fight phase, even when charged, the Guard sat on Objectives are genuinely tough to shift and those Krox are slapping everything they hit. Throw in some mortal wounds end of every turn. Yeah. Tough, Hit Hard and good options to adapt play style.
DoK arent survivable but are reinforecable in SH, which makes a world of difference. You can also make the Witch Aelves super killy by stacking their buffs. I have found them super fun in SH.
How in hell did you put the Ogor Mawtribes in D tier ? I just saw a spearhead game on Season of War and they ANNIHILATED the new Stormcasts. Ogor has way too much stuff, with way too much lifepoints and deals way too much damage. And you put the new Stormcasts in S tiers when they got annihilated by a D-tier. doesn't make sense
Very true. Although in another video the Ogors lost to the Skaven. But that was partly due to some very bad dice rolling by the Ogors (I think the Tyrant didnt make a single wound), too many lucky saves on Skaven side and some tactical choices that made not enough sense. But I think the Ogors are one of the toughest Spearheads out there! And they are really cool! Also from a hobby point of view they are really good and cool. Big bulky minis, not too hard and too much ro paint, nice variety in type of units and a very good starting box if you want to expand into the AoS army.
In Aos, the way you play is what actualy decide the winer, in the world tournament a skaven player end second place but skaven was at 44% win rate the whole year Since AoS does not have S vs T units do not make a hard counter to other army/list. Is all about how you play the game
I have played with them for like three times, and all of my victories fellt like hard fought battles and all of my losses (one) felt oblitterating. I feel like they loose steam very early, barely scraping by with >5 models in the second turn and then having a big comeback for the last two turns, that is if the opponent dosent have too much control over the map allredy. I got wiped two separate times on turn 2, once with an enemy duble turn once without it. The ogors you get to play with at the start are just not tanky enough to survive a good shooting army.
Ive gotten to play Seraphon, Cities, and FEC so far and i absolutely have to put FEC in S tier. The cryptguard are kind of junky, but they have a role. But the amount of mobility, damage output, and recursion they have as a set makes them so difficult to shut down, though they are definitely susceptible to a bad turn snowballing. As much as i like the seraphon, i have to call them B tier at best. The Carnasaur is mostly just a nuisance unit, the warriors font get reinforced, and all the real power is in the Kroxigar. Ive founs that if the Kroxigar get taken out its immediately an uphill battle for the rest of the game for them. Cities i give A tier. Their Officers Order is a really good ability that translates directly into scoring points, but much like the Kroxigar in Seraphon, if the Cavaliers go its pretty much game over. The steelhelms do borderline nothing in most match ups, the marshal is solid but cant carry the game on his own, and the cannon can push out some serious damage but lack of Shoot in Combat makes it very easy to just turn off.
@@jaredellis2754 in Spearhead some units get the reinforcements ability that shows them to come back once after being destroyed - typically lighter infantry units get it, but the Saurus Warriors do not
Having played most of my games with Ogors, split evenly with 3 wins and 3 losses, I feel that they are powerful enough to put in the work. All of my wins have been in matches where I was the attacker and my losses have all been as defender. The highest save they have is from the Tyrant and that is a 4. If you are facing opponents that have any rend, the Gluttons and Leadbelchers will melt. The shooting from the Ironblaster has been a real let down in all of my games, win or lose. Even though they feel they could benefit from some extra survivability or more utility (4+ need for 1 MW charge feels bad), they can do a big chunk of damage (dice gods permitting). My Gluttons alone ate an entire block of Kroxigors. A swingy box of dad bods that, even though some of the rules are weak, is really fun!
@@gabeperras3711 Yea, that is a major draw back. If the dice are not there for your Gluttons and Leadbelchers, the game will be a very fast and one sided one. I am hoping, in the same vein as the Seraphon, the Mawtribes get a range refresh during this edition. A new Spearhead wouldn't hurt either!

@@HellstormWargaming oh.. I got myself the khorne daemons box not long ago thinking I could save thousands and just play one army across all game types.. What can I do with these khorne daemons then?
@@B4H4D4 You wouldn't be able to use them in an AoS spearhead games, but they're still usable in combat patrol style games of 40k, or normal games of AoS and 40k. Points wise, they seem to be higher points in AoS (at least with my wife's slaaneshi daemons in AoS 3rd). The box would give you a solid start to a blades of Khorne army. Just grab a couple more boxes of units and you should be at 1k points. If you want to be able to run everything between the two games, you're a little more limited as the monogod daemons in 40k don't have a huge variety of choices outside of HQs.
