Hi all - something I forgot to mention in the video was the objective sizes. So here they are for you: So the objective markers are the standard 40mm size, but the entire area to capture it is 155mm circumference in total or 57.25mm diameter from the 40mm edge of the objective. In inches it would be 6.2 inches circumference in total. Or 2.25inches diameter from the edge of the 40mm objective marker.
This was more a “what you need” instead of a “how to play” video if you ask me. It would have been nice to see at least one battle round play out to get the idea of a turn.

@@TheCommandPhase Thanks mate, are the only 'legal' boards the two sided ones sold or are there other objective placements and layouts you could do for Spearhead?
@DanMarston117 No problem at all. So they are the only “legal” ones as part of the fire and jade pack. But I will imagine that if they support it going forward, the next season with two different realms would have alternative layouts. But if you wanted to test out alternatives, I doubt it would hurt 👍
My wife and I are interested in getting into Spearhead, and I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to start. We have zero experience or familiarity with any of it, but we think this could be fun to do together. Is Skaventide better than hunting down individual Spearhead armies and all the game essentials separately?
@Balcamion79 That's great that you're looking to get into spearhead. So there are a couple options here really. If you are a fan of both the new Skaven and Stormcast then 100% the Skaventide box is great value for money. As you'll get absolutely everything you'd need to get started with 2 armies (slightly more than their respective spearheads), core rulebook, fire & jade book for all the spearhead army information and core rules you'd need inside (granted these are free online), terrain, board and cards for spearhead alongside the generals handbook for the first season of full AoS. That being said, if you weren't interested in the skaven or stormcast, then I'd suggest looking on ebay as you can grab all the accessories you'd need (terrain, board, cards and fire & jade book) from people splitting the skaventide box, for less than the spearhead accessories pack direct from GW. I've spotted some this morning for about £28 on ebay from a quick glance. And then picking the two spearheads you like the look of the most - again depending where you live, you hopefully have access to an online gaming store, like Glasshammer or Waylands games over here in the UK as a couple of examples I have linked in my linktree. where you'll get up to 20% off the rrp. (every little helps to make this hobby more affordable). Hopefully that helps, welcome again to the hobby and I'd love to hear how you get on!
Hope you have a great time! To be fair, I don’t imagine it’ll be too long until we do see one. Same with the ironjawz now they are their own faction. I’d imagine they could add these in with white dwarf if they didn’t want to make new boxes like they’ve done with some combat patrols recently.

Lots of mention on how it is not a main game and how it is to bring people to aos...but Spearhead in itself sounds great, didnt enjoy Aos 3.0, will try spearhead soon!
Honestly this is a format you could just play by itself without ever needing to build a 2000 point army if you didn’t want to. Lots of fun and nuance to it as well, all while learning the core rules of the game. And the perfect excuse to try out a variety of factions to find one you click with. Is spearhead a good option for a couple with little chance to schedule play at stores, or is there enough replayability with the same two armies again and again? We also are new to wargaming, btw
100% I can’t recommend it enough. Perfect way to learn how to play the game, your chosen factions and develop in a format that provides some really quick games once you’re up to speed. 2 sides of the board and 2 deployment options and the cards being random each game, certainly helps for replay-ability. Plus I’d imagine there will be plenty of stores in the future setting up spearhead events too. That and if you do decide that you fancy trying a different faction it’s not a huge buy in compared to a whole new army. I mean I grabbed a few spearheads after trying it at Warhammer world and I don’t plan on expanding them further. Which factions are you thinking of picking up?

Your best bet is to head onto ebay or another secondary market and grab one from there that people are selling as for some reason GW haven't released a separate one yet. All of the rules for each faction are currently free in each of the faction packs on the warhammer community website if that helps.
@@TheCommandPhase Hmmm.. Really weird they haven't released it seperately yet. A friend of mine has the book, and I quite like the way the warscrolls are laid out for each faction. I don't like the free ones nearly as much. Anyway, thanks for your comment, I know where to head next. Ebay, here I come.
One page rules is still superior...if you play spearhead it has nothing to do with the main game....OPR is just a streamlined set of rules that you can play with any of your models at any point value...HUGE failure by GW, but what else is new.
Step 1 - Dont. Step 2 - This is combat Patrol 2.0. It has no place on the tabletop. It was some boardroom nerds idea to try and make more sales by convincing people their ridiculous prices got the customer something playable. Most of them.. arent.
The latter half of your "Step 2" is likely fairly correct...the rest is highly biased nonsense though...imo. I actually tried out a couple of games yesterday using different factions...and it was actually a great time! ...and I haven't touched any AoS since 2018 I think, and I had absolutely zero interest in combat patrol for 40k...so I really wasn't expecting to like it.

Is there any way to buy the Fire and Jade rulebook seperately? I've been trying to find it online, but to no avail so far.

Good video. Just hard to listen to when you modulate the volume at the end of each sentence. Last word same pitch!
Nah spearhead is fun. Cope and seethe.
Thank you for this, concise and comprehensive and perfect for a refresher before my game today
You’re more than welcome 🙂 How did your game go?
