If the police actively decide to not record their actions when they know they're going to bust into a home or structure, we should not listen to anything they have to say publicly or in court.

Kind of weird that Kenneth and Breonna were supposed to be able hear the cops but the cops weren't supposed to be able to hear them.
1. The boyfriend's gun was down, that's why he was shot in the leg. 2. I totally agree just because someone is not a model citizen doesn't mean they deserve to die. 3. somebody should be held accountable for what happened.

I had an armed robbery happen in my home with my children present.
I was able to talk about the horror, fear and destruction without crying or shaking to the police and others.
I was upset, I was furious but I needed and wanted to tell what took place. Everyone isn't all emotional. Shock and anger can keep you calm.
People when habituated to circumstances get trained to stay calm. Doctors cutting open bodies, mountaineers climbing etc etc.

Isn’t the bigger question that the law of no knocks warrants and I guess knock and announce in this case are prob bad laws and shouldn’t be used in most cases. So why hold the actual officer accountable for returning fire once he has been shot at, I think every human being would return fire in that instance. I mean he’s just following orders from his superiors to execute the warrant. Hell if I’m the guy in the house and I didn’t hear clear and concisely it was the police I’d shoot also, but for the officer returning fire it’s not on him at that point. I get the #Justice for Breona , but the justice is in the laws being amended for a better way not for an Officer returning fire .

There shouldn't be a CERTAIN case that the body cam should be on. They should be on and recording THE ENTIRE TIME they're working.
I know a cop personally, he’s undercover, the body cams are large and quite obvious and protocol is to wait to turn them on. They don’t want body cams going and wasting footage while they aren’t in danger. However, he has forgot to turn it on. Why? Because when someone pulls a gun out, your first reaction isn’t to turn a camera on, it’s to protect yourself.
He has also said the body cam footage has done nothing thus far but to incriminate poor black/Latino people and it will be allowed in court....he believes the reverse will happen, they won’t want cams because of this incriminating evidence in court.
That little smirk on his face as he recounts the events of that night is called "duping delight."

The anger at the proposal that George Floyd died of an overdose is misplaced and, imo, is played up to stir up feelings in the viewer. It's common knowledge that the knee may not have been what killed him. We'll probably never know.

@@cavalashemingway This is the irony of the story. The police decided that this residence was a "soft" target because the file says it was occupied by Taylor alone. The police decided to give the resident (Taylor) a chance to decently respond to the search warrant. Had the police entered without any notification, they probably would have subdued the suspect and Taylor without incident.

Okay, so here is what I know.
1. In the video following the warrant being served, the boyfriend says that Breonna was the one that had the gun and was shooting.
2. It was actually the boyfriend who shot the police officer.
3. The first 2 we know for sure are true.
4. Whether the boyfriend thought that it was police or burglars, he shot the police officer.
5. The police officers didn't even have to knock, didn't even have to announce themselves. If those witnesses are correct, and the police in fact didn't knock, and didn't announce themselves, that doesn't matter. It was a no-knock warrant. (Though there are witnesses that say that they did knock and did announce themselves.)
6. The officer says he fired when he felt something warm in his leg (he got shot.) If the area is dark and he can't see, he can't call a timeout, and tell whoever is shooting to hold on, to let him turn on the light first, and then they can continue shooting. There is no time for that.
7. The boyfriend said that he shot down, a warning shot. If he had fired down, he wouldn't have hit a police officer above the knee from 25 feet away.
8. This case is sad. But the police officer do not need to apologize, they got shot at. Maybe they feel sorry (they probably do) but they don't have to apologize. The fact is, they were shot at, so they shot back. Now, imagine, the boyfriend started shooting, and shooting, round after round. If the police hadn't shot back, and some black person, across the street or something, got hit by a stray bullet, whose fault would that be? The police officers defended as they could, while getting shot at. A tragedy? Yes. But you can't prove, and no one can prove, that the police officers arrived on the scene hoping for a black person to kill. If so, they would have shot the boyfriend, but they accidentally hit Breonna Taylor.
9. The police officers couldn't read the boyfriend's mind. They couldn't have known that he thought they were breaking in. All they knew at that moment they were getting shot at.
Also, I'm starting a new slogan. Black babies lives matter. People shouldn't be killing so many black babies, they're very important to us.
My kids used to do this kind of things when they screwed up,quick make up a story to look like you were totally innocent. And your right should have been shown on camera
